  • Bodycam video released by the Georgetown Police Department in Ohio shows officers arresting former Cincinnati Reds star pitcher Tom "Mr. Perfect" Browning on August 27. Authorities say Browning allegedly hit a light pole while driving and failed multiple sobriety tests, including a breathalyzer test that returned a 0.127 BAC.

It's called a horizontal gaze nystagmus test, it is administered to identify Nystagmus, which is an involuntary jerking of the eyes up or down. Nystagmus can be caused by a head injury or seizure disorder, however the most likely reason for it is being under the influence of drugs, alcohol or certain medications. Officers should and nearly always ask qualifying questions prior to the test to preclude medical conditions that may cause Nystagmus. The test also gives the officer conducting the test to gather other evidence, such as following directions, bloodshot eyes, odor of alcohol, Marijuana or both. During the test at some point the flashlight being used ( at night) tests pupils for dilation or constriction.

Let let your blood speak for... The best thing to do is wait as long as you can before you take that flat alcohol test so you can sober up yourself. The only thing will help you is time. And if you can get your hands on some cocktail after the accident. They can't prove if you drink afterwards. There's nothing wrong with grabbing a beer out of your trunk and drinking it while you're waiting for ambulances and s***

I don’t agree with the female officers response to him when he said “I lost my wife about a month ago”…she says “ok”. He made a very bad decision! That decision could have been catastrophic. However, she can still show some empathy for his loss. I HATE ALCOHOL!! I hope he gets some help.

Listen that Karen ratting him out. People should give her a little reward on the snitch side. At this point that was a victimless crime no one got injured. You know if you drink alcohol in public and you order a beer on a cocktail you expect the cocktail to be a measured amount. If they over poor you it's not your fault if you get impaired because they didn't administer proper alcohol.

Here's a question, what if you drink after the accident and before the cops get there. Let's say you had a six pack on the trunk or a bottle in the trunk and you pull it out start drinking it while you're waiting for the police. Then they can't tell when you drink if you were drunk pre accident or post accident. It's better to get a drinking in public or open container after the fact then they drunk driving. What do you think guys is that a good thing to do?

Terrible idea. In your hypothetical, the person was drinking at all so no chance for a DUI. Now, your solution is to drink and possibly add additional charges?
