- Bodycam video released by the Georgetown Police Department in Ohio shows officers arresting former Cincinnati Reds star pitcher Tom "Mr. Perfect" Browning on August 27. Authorities say Browning allegedly hit a light pole while driving and failed multiple sobriety tests, including a breathalyzer test that returned a 0.127 BAC.

RIP Tom, your achievements & accolade’s won’t be overlooked for one mistake
He was a great guy.
RIP .Mr Perfect. You were awesome.
WLW in Cincinnati just confirmed he passed away around 1:00 pm eastern standard time. Rip Mr. Perfect
Sad news indeed
I tell ya, I'm over 70, and I did these tests with the video and failed, and all I've had is a cup of tea! You lose your balance as you age.
Its tough in general. Muscle memory isn't there
I’m 56 and lose my balance! Lol
Never been able to do these tests because of eardrum/middle ear damage which affects my balance-like bein’ over 60 me whole life, eh? 😬😄😄
No you dont...
@@oldskool1979 Oh, yes you do!
I'm 62 and physically healthy, but I can't do those balance tests without a drop of alcohol.(I don't drink). It happens to some when you age.
I’m 65, and stone cold sober I wouldn’t be able to get through the first 30 seconds of that test. 40yrs of construction, bad back, bad knees, bad hip, bad shoulder…All bad! I can barely roll outta bed, let alone preform like a trained monkey.
Man this is really sad. My dad grew up idolizing him when he pitched the perfect game. I hope he gets the help he needs.
Sometimes people just make a bad decision and aren't alcoholics, and they get a rude awakening after the first time something happens. It's just fortunate that noone got hurt
@@ez8308 sympathizer...he could’ve killed a family
He passed away as of today unfortunately.
The only lives that truly matter are those who respect the lives of others. Can’t do that if you’re driving drunk.
@1911Nico. ALL lives matter. It’s not fair to say that about someone because they have an addiction or alcohol disease. Or even ppl that just made a bad decision, for that matter. He did say he’d never been arrested before.
@@Throttle86 Sure, all lives do matter. However, at the end of the day someone is going to loose control and someone could get hurt or die. When that happens, those who are responsible for harm or loss of life will be dealt with. Stupidity will not be excused.
@@AutomaticHandguns Agree. Nobody ever said they shouldn’t be responsible for their actions
People make mistakes. Get off your high horse.
@Jordan NOT what I said or inferred at all, Jordan.
I have absolutely no patience for drinking and driving. Totally irresponsible !!!
I lost my wife of 33 years also recently. But you don't see me lying to the police and drive drunk. NO EXCUSE FOR WHAT YOU DID ____DRUNK !!!!
So sorry for your loss. Devastating.
Lost my husband and I’m sitting here watching this.
Zero tolerance
Ppl deal with things differently tho, when my fiancé passed away I turned to drinking vodka everyday to “comfort” me & not feel the pain. (I didn’t drive tho!!) He’s been gone 2 years, 1 year I spent drinking every day but this final year I haven’t touched a drop. It makes things worse rather than better.
@Don S, Respect for you friend, I dare not even imagine the pain you have in your heart, and despite all this you have made a good lesson to this man with your words, so much respect for you friend!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
“I’m not gonna lie to you I’m intoxicated”
Officer: “YAAAAA🎉” well made that easy 😂
Mr Browning was found dead today in his home at the age of 62...RIP
He's lucky he didn't kill himself or someone else. People don't usually do this unless they have an addiction. Hopefully, he will get help and stop putting the rest of us in danger.
Depending on time of day, I may walk like that for a few steps. I don't drink, so if I get pulled for driving like crap, I am requesting a blood test!
You have the right to refuse a field sobriety test. This is just more evidence to use against him in court.
Actually the Cops can take your blood at the hospital
I many states, refusing a field sobriety test is an automatic fail!
@@funfact8660 Yeah i know, i'm talking about the field sobriety tests he did.
@@kathyotoole4608 He was going to be arrested and charged with a DUI either way.
@Joe Rogaine I didn't know you could refuse, legally. I assumed it would pass off as non-compliance.
Yep. This sums Georgetown up pretty well. They all “seen it” and soon will ask him for his autograph and a selfie together while he’s cuffed.
As a Dodger fan this guy schooled us in his day
Going from Hamilton, OH to Georgetown, OH to get to Union, KY is quite a journey.
Yeah, he REALLY took the "scenic route." That's one heck of a detour. lol
yeah, I just looked up his route. (ha)... He must've had a chick he was going to see down in Georgetown.
@@davidc.992 I don't know....have you seen those G'Town girls?? Just kidding. lol
If someone is obviously intoxicated, and says they are intoxicated, why don't they just save time and do a breathalizer and take him in?
Holy cow he was trashed. Drive drunk, go to the tank. Then sit in the ER department and witness the devastation that DUI actually causes. No matter who you are!
i can't do those tests 100% sober, due to health issues i have bad balance and stumble and swerve when i walk all the time
Sad.
"I am not going lie I had two two many bourbons." I am intoxicated.
He seems like a sweet guy just had bad decisions that night
He's like I can't do this I'm intoxicated so arrest me..
Many people making comments that seem to be making excuses because once he was a famous baseball player. I will say he doesn't sound drunk. However he tried to back out and leave after he did all that damage.
I agree. I haven't heard of him maybe he was before my time. But at that age should be more responsible. No leniency for stars, politicians or cops arrested. I'm tired of seeing them treated better
@Fancyme Alter You mean like Paul Pelosi?
@@KB-eo9bu Yes, it could also be that his wife is in government. However the comments I read excusing the man in the article was more like hero worship. The people making comments. Where as I think your example falls more along the lines that the driver feels entitled due to who they are married to. Both are inexcusable. If you or I had done either of the actions that the two men we are talking about had done you could get rich betting that the outcome would have been very different.
RIP😢
4:40 That's one serious beer belly.
I remember the prefect game well. It was against the dodgers.
Very sad what has happened to this guy. Driving drunk is an awful idea man. Get help! SOON
Least he was honest
"Do you have anything on you that can poke me stick me or hurt me?". With the right officer, I'd answer by saying, Yes, yes, and yes! lmao!
Dude bought a bar in 2018
Sometimes people can be so difficult when they are stopped by the police officer
I'm 54 years old and healthy I've never been able to do the sobriety check except for touching my nose. Here's a little trick to pass whenever you touch your nose pick a booger then wipe the booger on the other finger. They won't handcuff you
she said "YEAAAHHH" smh
I love Bootsy Collins. Parliament Funkadelics.
Bootsys Rubber band was the opening act for Chaka Khan when I saw them in the mid 70s.
I got drunk with George Clinton, Bootsy Collins and the guys from Fishbone backstage at the Hollywood Palladium
@@funfact8660 awesome. Saw them in Philly back in the 1970s
You are very good videographers.😇
yes, they are police body cams.
Cop pov
All cars should have an automatic sobriety alcohol level tester and don't start.
Here's a question?
Rip Mr pefect.
Honestly, BRUH -- 😂🤣IM 💀☠️
Just call a ducking Uber for Chrissake.
Hahaha Tom browning was not a star. Thoughts and prayers lol
He's a Hall of Famer. lol
He's a drunkard
He has a perfect game and a world series ring. Solid starter for the Reds in the 80's. Star? I don't know, but certainly recognized in the Cincy area.
@@John-tp5gc reds HoF
I'd give him a "Perfect Game" pass
I guess they don’t teach grammar in the Georgetown, Ohio public schools. It is not “ I seen….”
I was there when he threw a perfect game in 1988. He’s a really good guy, but driving drunk is never a good idea.
What makes him a good guy? You say he's a good guy but you're implication is that he's a good guy because he was good at a sport and being good at a job doesn't make you a good person...
I seen???
If his bld sugar is high and he hasn't been taking his insulin along with 2 bourbons, he could have blacked out due to the combination.
Straighten up, Tom. It isn't the end of the world. It could have been much worse.
Alcoholism is a disease. I hope he gets help.
Only had 2 burbons, would those be pints??? I would suppose he got a nudge from the judge to the rooms of AA, met people of all walks of life in those rooms, glad I made it in to those rooms and into recovery...
Why does this look like they invented the body cam in 1932. Where is the color
Rory-Not Gail: That's too bad. I'm sure he's a good man. However, good people make bad choices - dangerous ones - and that's why DUI has to be taken seriously, and those who drive impaired have to face the consequences. Glad no one was injured or killed although it sounds like someone's house was damaged,
You have to admit it, the slopes roads gives it an optical illusion that you're going straight LOL
I know where Georgetown Oh is and it is ssoo far in the wrong direction to where he is going.
Browning pitched the twelfth perfect game in baseball history on September 16, 1988, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also won the World Series with the Reds in 1990.
Not exactly a bum.
what he did 32 years ago in a sporting event does not prove him a good person today. Driving drunk is the action of a bum. Innocent people get killed.
There's no bum's that play sports? There all bums!
When Alcohol and drugs are so easily and readily available at every corner of the road in the USA what do you expect ?
I don't understand the point of going through all the procedure once he admitted he's intoxicated.
I'm going to guess it's procedure since they probably need to say they gave him said test before arresting him. Where I live though, the breathalyzer test would suffice.
To gather evidence for court and to support the arrest. The police are going to need more than just someone's admission.
no one knows who tf that is
Mr Perfect was Kurt Henning. This dude belongs in a rest home, playing bingo and chasing after the widows
There is no excuse…he’s a big boy..pull over if you’re getting tired…don’t drink and drive 😡✌️❤️🌎
I just don't like the way the officers talking to this older guy. Because the fact that she is desensitized he's an older man over 60 right nine out of 10 they can't even walk straight because so many reasons right. And not only that the man is communicating with the officer telling her clearly that he cannot do it.
Girl cop sounds cute. 😍
Good
Go😂❤❤❤
😏 I love these neighbors! It ain't snitching if ya a** ain't gangbangin or a criminal! I'm telling errr-thing if you come into my cul-de-sac even looking suspicious regardless of who TF ya are! I worked too hard to get to let any POS come wreck what me or my neighbors earned 😒🙏🏾🤳🏾
Let pray for Tom and hope he recovers quickly from this in Jesus Christ Amen.
I feel like they kinda rag on him a bit much, like they laugh in the video and I know they don’t mean any harm, But he is clearly stating he’s drunk and making him do tasks they all know he can’t do just seems a bit much.
Ephesians 5:18
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
Why can a woman surch a man,and a man not a woman that i don't untherstand from the police
Huh?
he told her he is intoxicated I don't understand why she was still testing him.
To gather evidence for court and support the arrest.
There’s just no excuse for drinking and driving today. Not that there ever was, but with todays tech it should never happen. Get a ride app, pull it up, they’ll be there in minutes most of the time. And don’t forget to tip. Lol
Yeah and then his car is 100 miles away in another state
It was an accident, but people have should be arrested for accidents, but I wish e did,not she was intoxicated. He does t know I he is or not, but once the cop hers that she ins already going to arrest him.
This makes no sense.
Drinking and commenting should be a crime!! 🤣🤣
First
When police ask you to use your eyes to follow the light, are they looking at your eyes? Or just seeing if you’re weaving as you’re standing? That eye test took forever!
It's called a horizontal gaze nystagmus test, it is administered to identify Nystagmus, which is an involuntary jerking of the eyes up or down. Nystagmus can be caused by a head injury or seizure disorder, however the most likely reason for it is being under the influence of drugs, alcohol or certain medications. Officers should and nearly always ask qualifying questions prior to the test to preclude medical conditions that may cause Nystagmus. The test also gives the officer conducting the test to gather other evidence, such as following directions, bloodshot eyes, odor of alcohol, Marijuana or both. During the test at some point the flashlight being used ( at night) tests pupils for dilation or constriction.
@@danevannett3804 👏👏
THANK YOU for that wonderful, detailed and well-written answer. Appreciate you in many ways. 💕🙏🏻
Most people that are drunk move their head with the eyes.
They're also looking at your pupils from methamphetamine. I've been high on meth and alcohol and pass those tests. You just have to concentrate and follow directions and just don't leave your head and follow with your eyes. Now the balance tests are different story. PS I hate cops
@@danevannett3804 if in a car accident obviously have a head injury. Plus he was a diabetic it don't matter what you answer they're going to f*** you over either way. Let let your blood speak for... The best thing to do is wait as long as you can before you take that flat alcohol test so you can sober up yourself. The only thing will help you is time. And if you can get your hands on some cocktail after the accident. They can't prove if you drink afterwards. There's nothing wrong with grabbing a beer out of your trunk and drinking it while you're waiting for ambulances and s***
SMOKE A JOINT, LAY OFF THE BOOZE -- DRIVING BUZZED IS DRIVING DRUNK!!
@ALLisOn e yes
@ALLisOn e Did he said smoke and drive ?
Switching seats on the titanic
@ALLisOn e I understand what people say and do. I didn’t see smoke and drive.
@ALLisOn e So how do you know what he meant ? Or you just want it to mean what you want it to mean .
I don’t agree with the female officers response to him when he said “I lost my wife about a month ago”…she says “ok”. He made a very bad decision! That decision could have been catastrophic. However, she can still show some empathy for his loss. I HATE ALCOHOL!! I hope he gets some help.
🤬😡🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻, celebrity or not drunk driver's are disgusting
I'm a Met fan and always thought that Browning was a bit arrogant. Screw him. That's what you get when you think that you're above the law.
1:24... did she really just say "bruh"?
😐🤦 honestly. Cops are way too pathetic these days. That just shows how much knowledge they have.
Listen that Karen ratting him out. People should give her a little reward on the snitch side. At this point that was a victimless crime no one got injured. You know if you drink alcohol in public and you order a beer on a cocktail you expect the cocktail to be a measured amount. If they over poor you it's not your fault if you get impaired because they didn't administer proper alcohol.
Here's a question, what if you drink after the accident and before the cops get there. Let's say you had a six pack on the trunk or a bottle in the trunk and you pull it out start drinking it while you're waiting for the police. Then they can't tell when you drink if you were drunk pre accident or post accident. It's better to get a drinking in public or open container after the fact then they drunk driving. What do you think guys is that a good thing to do?
Lmao. That may be a genius strategy
Terrible idea. In your hypothetical, the person was drinking at all so no chance for a DUI. Now, your solution is to drink and possibly add additional charges?
