I see Nightmare Before Christmas as a Christmas movie because I pay attention more to the story format. The setup happens during Halloween, there’s a build up to Christmas and Christmas is when the climax happens. It revolves around Christmas so I see it as a Christmas movie-a Christmas story. I think people who call it a Halloween movie, the creator included, pay more attention to the setting and when you would more likely watch it. The movie evokes more of a Halloween spirit than a Christmas spirit. I guess you can say it’s a Halloween movie but a Christmas story.
i still think the movie is a Halloween movie because most Christmas movies revolve around a feel good story, or a message about giving, or something else with a Christmas, season-of-giving theme. I just discovered your channel earlier this week & I can really relate to this video! It takes me some convincing to go up & talk to someone new or try something I haven’t before, Since 2015 I haven’t really been a fan of dressing up for trick or treating, & I easily get scared by stuff hence my dislike for scary movies. I remember I got scared by the Elder Guardian jump scare in my Minecraft Survival world once.

Same except I had a ceiling fan in my bedroom that had two switches hanging from it that you pull down. For some reason the light switch on the wall wouldn't turn on the light unless I pulled down the light switch on the fan.
6:00 I went in a haunted house by myself (nobody else on the ride) when i was 5. It was like you sat down in a cart and there were a lot of noises and things jumping at you and flashing lights. I was terrified

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you on all these points (slight exception on trick-or-treating, specifically I really enjoy making my own costumes (and yes I'm into cosplay as an adult now)). *But,* Halloween is still my favorite holiday by like, a mile and then some. I think it's just because, at least as far as western pop-culture-ified holidays go, Halloween is really the only that's just about having fun and nothing else. No waxing philosophical about gratitude and all that, no expectation of gathering up with every single person that's even remotely related to you, its just. Have fun. It's nice

Ive watched Blair witch, it wasn’t scary. But my mom said when she watched it she was terrified. I think it’s because it was advertised as ACTUAL footage. So much so the actors families got “sorry for your loss” cards. If I had watched it thinking it was real… God I would never sleep again.
When I watched it when I was younger I was still under the impression that it was real too because at the time the way the advertised it and had “news” stories about the students being missing really added to it. I can definitely see how now it may not hold up but when I watched it, living in an area surrounded by woods, I was terrified and it’s still one of my favorites 🎃

I live in the County where it was filmed. The county police had to setup a hotline specifically for all of the people calling asking if they had been found and what was being done.
i just love making/putting together the costumes and getting to hang out w my friends, the candy is a positive side effect. i also just love fall in general and i love spooky season! halloween is my favorite holiday! :D
Honestly, this is my favorite end card ever. Because you know she is trying her hardest to sound good even though no one cares. We just love the videos and any tiniest effort count and warms people's hearts.

I watched the Blair witch project when I was 11, and it was my first time watching a movie shot like that, only back then I didn't know it was a movie. I legitimately thought that some guy found a camera in the woods, and played whatever was recorded on it on tv, and when I asked my mom if it was real, she said maybe, which freaked the hell out of me even more than I was freaked out. But when I was at that age, I had this "I'm strong, I'm brave, nothing can scare me" thing going on with me (that's why I watched the movie in the first place), so I told no one that I was mortified and that in every single day for two months I couldn't shut my eyes to sleep and I'd stay awake till 3 am until my body shut down by itself. Yeah, it did scar me.
That's how Blair Witch was marketed too. That it was actual found footage made into a documentary. It was damn creepy at the time. It was a dope experience that can't happen again.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you on all these points (slight exception on trick-or-treating, specifically I really enjoy making my own costumes (and yes I'm into cosplay as an adult now)). *But,* Halloween is still my favorite holiday by like, a mile and then some. I think it's just because, at least as far as western pop-culture-ified holidays go, Halloween is really the only that's just about having fun and nothing else. No waxing philosophical about gratitude and all that, no expectation of gathering up with every single person that's even remotely related to you, its just. Have fun. It's nice

Ive watched Blair witch, it wasn’t scary. But my mom said when she watched it she was terrified. I think it’s because it was advertised as ACTUAL footage. So much so the actors families got “sorry for your loss” cards. If I had watched it thinking it was real… God I would never sleep again.
When I watched it when I was younger I was still under the impression that it was real too because at the time the way the advertised it and had “news” stories about the students being missing really added to it. I can definitely see how now it may not hold up but when I watched it, living in an area surrounded by woods, I was terrified and it’s still one of my favorites 🎃

I watched the Blair witch project when I was 11, and it was my first time watching a movie shot like that, only back then I didn't know it was a movie.
I legitimately thought that some guy found a camera in the woods, and played whatever was recorded on it on tv, and when I asked my mom if it was real, she said maybe, which freaked the hell out of me even more than I was freaked out. But when I was at that age, I had this "I'm strong, I'm brave, nothing can scare me" thing going on with me (that's why I watched the movie in the first place), so I told no one that I was mortified and that in every single day for two months I couldn't shut my eyes to sleep and I'd stay awake till 3 am until my body shut down by itself.
Yeah, it did scar me.
Mortified is a synonym for humiliated.
I used to think that the camera footage in The Purge and Texas Chainsaw Massacre was real.
That's how Blair Witch was marketed too. That it was actual found footage made into a documentary. It was damn creepy at the time. It was a dope experience that can't happen again.
