My NH villager Zucker told me he found something behind his bed and that he didn't want it unless it was a toffee bar in which I should give it back. It was a dinosaur footprint... I also got mailed a human skeleton from my favorite villager, Moe, in New Leaf!
You can’t just expect people to have fun with “child safe” characters without the bullies. You need both, both to get harmony. Something that Stardew did achieve with first impressions
I agree about how animal crossing new horizons villagers need to be really bland, but at the same time, I have deeply connected to some villagers while talking and even had a nemesis and best friend in animal crossing. this video was so funny and was absolutely amazing, thank you, and I thank everyone else who worked to make this video so awesome ❤
Original animal crossing was meant for working moms!! Thats why it only had about an hour of gameplay a day - it was meant to be soothing. I LOVE it. Its so comforting to me. Mom and I would take turns in our towns. I wish they would rerelease it for the switch GENUINELY
I’m actually really astounded by the way Jaiden Rickrolled me rn. At 9:10 the melody on the town tune board shows a couple of notes. I put them in to my town tune... got Rickrolled. Bruh
My brother was playing New Horizons and one of his villagers said in these exact words: "Rivers... Are just fish roads." Edit: The villager was Ketchup, if you were wondering
I need that on pocket camp. All I do is fish for tropical sea life and try to extort other players in exchange for a product that only costs 100 bells. I’d sell an octopus, witch is around 10 bells. Times that by 100. I like cash
But then people probably went crying to mommy about it. It goes like this: First some players riot when games tell them off for playing at their own pace. Next other players riot when they have the freedom to play at their own pace. And the cycle repeats. This is what happens when developers try to please everyone.
They clearly heard your complaint on villager conversations. The Snowfolks during the winter season straight up belittles you if you don’t make them perfectly.
I stopped playing animal crossing because of the villagers. There’s a demographic of animal crossing players that play mainly to design their island but I thought ‘what’s the point of maintaining an island’ if the villagers are just there for the sake of being there and they ask almost nothing of you?
Couple days ago I restarted my island for 2 reasons. 1. Because my siblings left GARBAGE ALL OVER THE PLACE and 2. Because my favorite villager straight up sassed me. 👁👄👁. I thought there was a glitch or something-
New horizons can occasionally be sassy (usually by accident). Once Phil saw me, ran up to me, and when I talked to him he was like “here, take this! I think it suits your taste!” And he handed me a trash can Edit: the fact that I’m still getting comments on this is wild. Also the comment right above mine is the same story?? Lmao, gotta love the gift of trash cans
I have made it a thing that I must wear whatever my villagers give me until I receive another item from a villager to replace it. Right now I have a bamboo hat, steampunk glasses, and a pixie costume(iirc, it looks like Peter Pan's outfit kind of)
Diva is my nemesis she is so fucking RUDE. The other villagers are boring tho I used an amiibo card to get my fav from new leaf on my island (hamphrey, cranky) and I'm so disappoi Ted he's nothing like he was
I started playing wild world recently and Curly was one of my starters. He immediately insulted me and then told me to find him a fossil, but i didn't have a shovel yet, and every time i tried to speak to him he didn't talk about anything but me getting that fossil for him. i finally did and he was appreciative. then he went back to insulting me and then moved out.
4:17 whilst Sue E is burning Jaiden, that little sheep is just dancing and singing and doesn’t care about the commotion going on literally an inch away from him, it’s hilarious and adorable 😊
One of the things I liked about the Game Cube Animal Crossing, is that you could buy multiple closets, and each closet had it's own space. You literally couldn't run out of inventory space! If you didn't want your house to be full of closets, just put the full-up closet inside of another closet! UNLIMITED INVENTORY SPACE!!! That's the one thing I really wish they would've brought over from the original Animal Crossing. Although, it's been forever since I've played it, so I cant remember what other things I might have liked from it.
If Jaiden loves a game where she gets abused by a purple pig, then I would strongly recommend the Arkham Games. A series of Batman games that poke fun at your useless corpse every time you loose in them
I used to love this villager named Iggy in the gamecube version. He was just super friendly and I enjoyed talking to him. One day he asked me a question or something, and I ended up lying to him because im a thug. Well it turns out Iggy is an even bigger thug than even I am because the little jerk stole all of my money as a consequence for me lying to him. You have to understand getting money in this game can be very slow and tedious, and I had spent hours that day just fishing so I had a boat load of money. This was probably the most painful and surprising experience I have ever had in a video game I kid you not. From that day on he was my mortal enemy and even to this day I will never not be angry at Iggy for stealing the money I worked for hours to get.
New horizons was my first animal crossing game because back then I only had a Nintendo with Mario kart or those one weird animal games but, watching old ac games makes me want to experience getting bullied by my villagers
I remember stop playing Wild World because the villiagers said really often "why are you talking to me so much? Don't you have more friends?" I cried the last time an animal called me "anoying"
I miss how the original villagers talked to you and actually having a harder time befriending the villagers🤔 in fact the Cranky villagers would trample your flowers if you weren't friends with them.
Started playing Animal Crossing again myself! Another thing I miss from the first game is your town could have up to 15 villagers! It made the town feel more full and bustling. Granted back then there were only 6 personality types, but villagers had favorite items and styles, and also items they HATED! It was different for each villager, whereas now you can give villagers literal trash and they immediately gush over you. Increasing the villager population and bringing back at least some of the edge to the villagers would be awesome, and also favorite and hated items, too.
Once a man named « Itachi » I think told me he got better eyes than me and to go talk to him when I’ll have same eyes than him (he whispered « make growing your hate for me » in my ear then leave with a plastic sword with fake blood and a strange armor that seams to be make with paper)

The thing with New Horizons is that while you may have a lot of customization options, it just gets stale because the villagers are literally soulless. They simply repeat the same phrases and have no personality whatsoever. In contrast, there's tons of great dialogue in the older games, getting fewer with each entry. For someone new to the series it might be okay, since you have so many ways to be creative, but The original had a lot more charm in terms of dialogue and I'd simply rather play the GC or DS versions. I feel like new leaf is a good middle ground.
They can’t put the sass and drama in there because they don’t want to get canceled since people are gonna be so offended by the dialogue of an insignificant character in a videogame.. society is falling apart
“Hey Jaiden! You know anybody that you just is rude to you for no reason?” “Yes I do actually” “Really? Like who?” *some gothic drag queen pig in animal crossing*
Jaiden, that rabbit game you described. There is a horror manga called “doubt” that’s literally about being stalked by killers in rabbit suits. They called the game “rabbit doubt”. So I guess that’s what you were playing
When i played animal crossing for the game cube as a kid the villagers were not mean at all and i realized that in the beginning of the game where that one guy asks to sit down if you say yes than all the villagers are nice to you nice touch
My arch nemesis is and always will be OPAL. May a thousand moths descend upon her favorite outfits. She was always the worst to me, and literally 22 years later she still refuses to move out of town. >=( The GameCube Animal Crossing forever holds a place in my heart because of the, probably 1000+, hours my grandma spent playing it. She may be gone, but her home is still there just the way she left it and the villagers still ask me to pass along greetings and such.
I guess if you like talk to them enough they’ll like you and not feel they’re annoyed, I think I could reccomend bianca and the black sheep villager are very cute and friendly at least they were for me
This one time, I was talking to chops and I had gotten bitten by wasps, and he started yelling, “MONSTER! MONSTER!!” and then laughed and said. “Oh, it’s just you, wow, you look worse than usual!” I hate chops.
*Long ago, all the villagers lived together in harmony, then everything changed when Sue E attacked. Only Jaiden, master of all Animal Crossing games can stop her, but when the world needed her most, she vanished.*
Old Animal Crossing gave us all a reason to actually feel different things towards individual villagers, as if they were real beings with real personalities, but now the only real factor we have in deciding who we like or not is their looks. Which, if you think about it, could send a bad message to the younger generation who are starting out on this game.
@@Superhero18 Yes, the original through new leaf did have all the villagers go through an arch of friendship. The most nasty personality types always were a little harsh but did eventually respect you.
Is NO ONE gonna talk about how she put her Godzilla statues together so it looked like they were on a date!?!?!?!?!? That was the best thing I've seen in a WHILE.
as someone who has never played the old game and only the new I can say i absolutely find the characters fun and interesting and very cute. I don't think I would have gotten into animal crossing if they talked the way in the old game. I do in fact have beef with one of my villagers on my island XD even tho they aren't meant to make you want to anger them. I really really hate Chops. But I can say I can see the appeal of the old villagers as they are very fun for some people, me personally would get really annoyed if they talked like that in new horizon. Having kind villagers is fun to me, and I already have my own stories about them and do find they have personality. But I completely get if you played the old game and liked it better, I just never have and only ever played new horizon.
I really wish they would add more dialogues to the villagers in future updates. I mean designing my island does take me 300 hours+ of playtime but imagine if the villagers already have more of a personality. The game would be close to perfect for me
Yeah, I love my villagers but usually I talk to them they say stuff like “I like waking! They keep your feet entertained!” Or “I like baking apple cake.” And I see the same dialogue over and over again
Bob is my favorite character, has been since my mom let me play her old game when I was little, knowing that Bob believes in the conspiracy just like I do is just a dream come true

I once ran into a convo between Agnes and Octavian in acnh that went smth like this: Agnes: Just because he smells like rotting peaches and airplane exhaust doesn't mean we aren't friends! Octavian: HAHA! You are as charming as a mortgage payment, and twice as draining to be around. And when I tell you I was shoook. I certainly need more of that in acnh
I had a similar convo happen on my island between Agnes and Spike. I think he said her laugh sounds like a cinder block…lol I loved their roast of each other. Never played the og Animal Crossing but Agnes is the closest I get to having somewhat of a sassy islander. I hope one day they realize those type of interactions also make the game appealing…but I assume they toned it down because they don’t want to hurt the feelings of children
@@lovelywallflower but they need to realize that most adult fans of the franchise played the og animal crossing or wild world as kids, where villagers were absolute savages and they loved it! idk why they feel like they need to "protect" their younger fanbase, stuff like that makes the game so much more fun
I remembered I freaked out playing the old animal crossing because one of the animals asked me whats my blood type, AND I FREAKED OUT, because I thought that was like personal information and was about to be kidnapped because the thing asked my BLOOD TYPE, and in conclusion I never got on the animal crossing train just because of that. I WAS TRAUMATIZED I SAY, TRAUMATIZED.
No way. A few months ago my 20 something year old cousin gave me a few of his ds games he didn’t need anymore and one of them is animal crossing wild world. I also got sonic rush, new super Mario bros, Star fox commando, Spyro new beginning, and Yugioh nightmare troubadour. Wild world is the only one I haven’t played yet
Alas, without any defined and distinct characters at all to encounter in New Horizons, the fans felt they needed to resort to taking a character who lets you live in a house for years without paying him back and trying their damned hardest to make him an Evil Capitalist™ just to put some form of conflict back into the game... then again, that's something he's had experience with in-universe, too. "I've had some folks believe I'm a ruthless and heartless businessman... hm, perhaps I can see the value of having a boogeyman everyone can unite against."
@@darthmunck Like most Marxist rhetoric, this conveniently overlooks the fact that you couldn't do that labor _at all_ if not for the island being settled - which wouldn't be possible without someone like Nook taking care of the expedition _for_ you. Voluntarily letting an employer profit from your labor is no more "exploitative" or "evil" than it is for _you_ to profit from _their_ land, materials, capital goods, or any other factors of production they're providing so you have something to do your labor on (and which you're _presuming_ you'd have access to by default, for some reason, even though you obviously wouldn't). ... in other words, _it's NOT._ The only halfway decent point you've made here is that the villagers are putting themselves in the same situation as the West Virginian coal miners did in the early 1900s by joining what's basically a company town, without bothering to check that it has access to a competitive marketplace. That said, please tell me you see the irony of complaining about "capitalism" because... you can choose to join other people in _simulating_ a planned economy that gives the state direct, absolute, monopolistic control over the bulk of commerce on the island, a la socialism? So, there's a problem if you explicitly _reject capitalism,_ and by doing so throw yourself into the shackles of serfdom? If you don't get how that's funny, that's cool too - just _please_ go back to reddit.
One thing I do really like about NH is how villagers will interact with things you put out. They'll get drinks from vending machines and things like that. For some reason Goose keeps going into the smoker outside my house, I'm convinced he's up to something but idk what yet *suspicious Fry face*

Original animal crossing was meant for working moms!! Thats why it only had about an hour of gameplay a day - it was meant to be soothing. I LOVE it. Its so comforting to me. Mom and I would take turns in our towns. I wish they would rerelease it for the switch GENUINELY

I need that on pocket camp. All I do is fish for tropical sea life and try to extort other players in exchange for a product that only costs 100 bells. I’d sell an octopus, witch is around 10 bells. Times that by 100. I like cash
But then people probably went crying to mommy about it.
It goes like this:
First some players riot when games tell them off for playing at their own pace.
Next other players riot when they have the freedom to play at their own pace.
And the cycle repeats.
This is what happens when developers try to please everyone.

They clearly heard your complaint on villager conversations. The Snowfolks during the winter season straight up belittles you if you don’t make them perfectly.
I massively enjoyed deliberately building snow boys wrong just for them to roast me everyday. I just wish they implemented it to the villagers too.
I really like making a chonky Snowfolk then blasted by sarcasm.
👁👄👁. I thought there was a glitch or something-
I know right
New horizons can occasionally be sassy (usually by accident). Once Phil saw me, ran up to me, and when I talked to him he was like “here, take this! I think it suits your taste!” And he handed me a trash can

Old Animal Crossing gave us all a reason to actually feel different things towards individual villagers, as if they were real beings with real personalities, but now the only real factor we have in deciding who we like or not is their looks.
Voluntarily letting an employer profit from your labor is no more "exploitative" or "evil" than it is for _you_ to profit from _their_ land, materials, capital goods, or any other factors of production they're providing so you have something to do your labor on (and which you're _presuming_ you'd have access to by default, for some reason, even though you obviously wouldn't).
... in other words, _it's NOT._
The only halfway decent point you've made here is that the villagers are putting themselves in the same situation as the West Virginian coal miners did in the early 1900s by joining what's basically a company town, without bothering to check that it has access to a competitive marketplace.
