I had Nintendogs, Monkeyz House, and a very similar game, Catz Clan. In the latter, I learned a disturbing thing about cats. You see, I had a mother and her son and the affection was maxed out between them. I thought nothing of it and aged him up to adult. I then watched in horror and confusion as the two proceeded to make a baby. That was the day I learned that in the feline world, family or not, everyone's fair game.
Bro i put so many hours into Catz clan growing up because I never had any of the popular games on my DS as a kid and this triggered a core memory for me because I did the same thing
You can't be serious, There is no way they programmed working incest in that game.

I usually watch Jaiden Animations for the stories because idk much about drawing or animation, but the way she slapped the case when she said “have you seen the box art” around 10:25 was so crisp

Out of all the things, I didn't think I would hear a parrot recite it's own Momotarou rendition.
The parrot saying “I dislike you” and literally swearing was hilarious. Why do I have the feeling some miffed developer working on the game inserted that in when they were at their limit working on a budget game like this one? Well, I wouldn’t blame them.

My favorite part is when Champ is wearing glasses, drinking coffee while reading a book.
My first pet game was Horsez 2 on the DS, and it was deeply traumatizing because at the end of the story mode your rival decides to commit arson and set your barn on fire, and the game devs decide that an appropriate reaction to this is to insert a “fun mini game” where you have to put out the fire as your horses, who are trapped inside, are screaming in terror.

The parrot's story sounds a lot like the Japanese legend of Momotaro-san. An old Japanese couple found a giant peach in the river near their house and took it home to eat, but when the cut it open there was a baby boy inside. They named the boy Momotaro which I think has something to do with peaches. When he was older, around young adult age, a nearby island of Oni (Japanese word for demons) started attacking Japan, so Momotaro decided to go fight the Oni. On the way he met and befriended a dog, a bird, and a monkey and through The Power of Friendship (tm) they were able to defeat the Oni. It's a pretty popular legend.

It actually took two years for me to realize that the story thing from parrot pals was (either inspired by or similar to) the mythof Momotaro, a japanese child that came out of a peach and attacked a bunch or oni with his friends, that being a dog,a monkey, and a pheasant.
I think that bird game is the closest we’ve gotten to true artificial intelligence. It’s learning on its own
