This is one of those games where the concept was there, but the technology needed to catch up to the idea. I would love to see something like this remade/remastered.
I remember playing Fossil Fighters: Frontiers. You drove around a car around, and it was much better in terms of graphics. And probably game design. It's been awhile.

Duna and all of the dinorian designs look amazing in her style and it’s funny to look at the in-game versions and then at hers
fun fact, there is a post game side quest that allows you to go back in time to redo the final boss, and doing this you can not only see what happens if you choose to bring the other girl into the final battle, but you also get your own copies of the three brainsas your own personal vivosaurs.

If you ever get the chance to or if you haven’t already, you should totally play the sequel: Fossil Fighters: Champions. It’s everything the first game was but doubled, the story is amazing, there are new mechanics, and there are new vivosaurs to dig up.

Fun fact: the sequel to this game improves upon literally everything (except you can't smooch an alien dinosaur girl). The battle mechanics are more refined and actually really fun, the fossil excavations are more varied and... still kind of a chore, but more interesting (some vivosaurs have all of their parts in a single giant fossil rock, for instance), the story is even more buck wild. All the new vivosaur designs for that one are great, you get a lot more variation too with things like trilobites, aurochs, and tanystropheus (please look up tanystropheus, he's a lizard who decided to become a living fishing rod and I love him). It's genuinely just better in literally every way, I highly recommend trying it
Then the third game shits on all of it by making a completely different battle system that sucks, so we don't talk about that one

I have no clue why the hell anyone would say "Oh boy, I love having two out of the three characters on my side be idiotic AI that waste precious resources that I need to unleash powerful attacks crucial to my strategy."
You want to shove us into cars? Fine. It's a bit of a hassle being locked into car controls, but the customization aspect is fun. You want to lock us into a partner? Sure - Nibbles is cute and is pretty strong in combat.
But the complete evisceration of consistency in strategy - that's where you lose me. There's this one postgame mission that locks you into two AI partners in a rematch against a slightly powered-up version of the final boss. These two chumps are fine - except for the fact that they have attacks that will expend *all* your FP - which is particularly crappy if you opt to use Nibbles for it.
I get wanting us to feel like we're really building bonds or something. but removing player control in a *turn-based strategy game* is a strict no-go.
On the bright side, you can finally use only legs on a vivosaur

I genuinely can't believe I say chugga's logo pop up in a Jaiden video. I loved and grew up in chugga's original LP's and still occasionally hop over there to see what the OG's are doing. I'm so glad to see the he is still keeping in touch with the newer generation of Video game content creators. Him, Proton Jon, Nintendo Capri sun, and luchajin are great channels and anyone wants some great classic LP content y'all should check them out. It would be super cool to see Jaiden work with TheRunawayGuys as one of their guests in a 4 player game. I feel like it would be content gold.
I love how in the credits there are so many things that are just funny, but then here is an actual secret we didn't know about at the time, and that was Tofu. I think that's a very cool Easter egg

Frontier Is the Banjo-Kazooie Nuts&Bolts of the franchise. And that's not hyperbole either, they share the same problem. Frontier throws out the zones combat system of both the original and Champions, and replace it with vehicle customization
We don’t talk about frontier, only champions and this one. In my opinion champions is the best one of the trilogy

Oh i remember playing this like 7 or 8 years ago on my 3DS when i was looking around my house cause i was bored and loved this and had a frustrating time and amazing time because my bottom screen couldn't detect touch so i was stuck in the digging tutorial trying to x-ray the ground
