      In the winter I wear Flannel a lot and skinny jeans, I call it "Hipsterflauge." Summertime I wear button up short sleeve patterned shirts mostly seersucker of various colors, and Bermuda shorts and generally look like an Ivy league "Frat Bro." I live in a college town with plenty of Hipsters and Bro's so I kind of just blend in. If I wear a 2A shirt I'm out shooting or at home, I noticed people kind of looking for my gun when I wore them in public. Every time I see someone claiming to be a greyman they still look way too tactical and look like a plainclothes cop.

    • @redtra236

      Your state might require 21 though laws a different in some of them.

    • @ryanortiz6783
      @ryanortiz6783 5 лет назад +28

      Garrett Smith I'm pretty sure I can buy one from a private sale. Like just someone selling their handgun. But I can't buy one from an ffl dealer. I think that's a federal law. And I'm also pretty sure that you have to be active military or law enforcement to have a concealed carry permit under the age of 21. I might be wrong but I'd just rather not carry until I'm 21. Even if it is lawful, an officer that doesn't know the law could give me some trouble and potentially take me to jail or just take it from me. It's just my rule of thumb to not try to get a handgun yet. Gives me some more time to save and decide exactly what I want. I'm in Texas btw

    • @redtra236
      @redtra236 5 лет назад +4

      Well I'm 20 and not Military or LE and have a Missouri CHL. And I got it when I was 19. That's just the law here anyways. Also you can carry in Missouri without a permit legally as long as you are at least 19, but I got a permit since there are less locational restrictions with it. Now military members are allowed to carry at 18 so that's the difference. Non-Military must be 19.

    I never believe the amount of crap people dump out during edc checks isn’t staged/they knew the check was coming. That being said, I am also surprised by how few people carry a pocket knife. My grandpa always had one on him, my dad always has one on him, I’ve always had one on me, not for fighting, but for general tasks. I use the thing almost daily, and dont understand how people get along in life without one.

Machined sear engagement surfaces that rotate on heavy pins- not stamped assemblies that twist under torque. If you understand what you are looking at, you will see the inherent durability. I do carry a flashlight. It takes 1 AA battery and will give me about 8 hours of light with an alkaline battery. Lithium battery gives me 330 lumens for 2 hours. Cost me $20 at Target, 130 lumens with alkaline battery. Weighs 3 ounces, 4" long 1" wide.
    I carry a flashlight because more than once I have been in places where the power went out. One time was in a parking deck at night. Emergency lighting was barely adequate.
    Just nice to have some light available when the power goes out, especially if you have to navigate steps.

    I moved from the Torrance/Lomita area to Nor-Cal... Humboldt County years ago.
    Not safer.
    I tend to carry a 442 apx Lt side, G29 or G19 Hip Rt side, Emerson commander Rt pocket, pen and light Lt pocket, and Leatherman on the belt. I'm in Cali so it doesn't matter what firearm I have, I'm limited to 10 rounds. I'm strongly considering replacing the 442 with an 8 shot 327.
    I've been stabbed at an ATM and attacked at my front door. Someone shooting over our fire at night while camping and guns pulled on me twice. OK, once the gun was in a gal's hand and security already had her pinned against the wall but the gun wasn't secured yet. The other time three guys pull a gun on me and a couple of friends in a bar parking lot while we are celebrating a Bachelor Party. I was young then, no CCW but when the two carloads of buddies arrived the dude put away his revolver. (Case made if you're a good guy... you might want that G34/35 with more capacity)
    Shit happens, be as prepared as YOU think necessary, thats the point of my long-winded post.

Also, it's amazing to me that the endless RUclips soldiers out there do video after video about the gear they are packing and not one of them ever talks about learning self defense that doesn't involve lethal force. I'm all for responsible concealed carry, but everyone should do themselves a huge favor and visit a quality jiu-jitsu, krav maga, etc instructor.
