Good to know your old man is ok👍 he should still take it easy, lost my old man to a sudden heart attack in 2009, still can’t get over it. I wish him and your family all the best.
Aaron Bays You could just order those parts at the dealership. It also could have been special ordered like that. That’s not the only F-150 I’ve seen with the Expedition grill on it.
The truck was the plain-jane base model. I doubt they paid the Ford dealer for an Expedition clip. More likely somewhere along the way they had a little boo-boo then got one from a junk yard. Would be curious to know the actual history. I have real nice Eddie Bauer electric seats in my old Ranger after the originals wore out.
So glad to see that your Dad's doing better, and has a new engine himself !He seems like such a kewl guy.Get that Mercedes polished up,and bring him home in style.
I have a 1999 Ford F-150. 4.2 v6 4x4 5 speed, long bed regular cab, and it's white. So if that's for parts I live in the rust belt and that bed would be perfect. That truck is an exact copy of mine just with the 5.4 v8 and automatic. I'd give you 700 on the spot if I was only closer.
@@RedWhiteAndBlueVideo Well how about that, I'm in northern Wisconsin. I tell you it's a damn shame nobody around here can figure out an alternative to salt. I am considering just ripping out the metal bed for 1 inch plastic resin instead.
What a cringe moment when you floored it in park! Damn, Jay, what's wrong with you? I really want to see someone save that truck. It has a heart of gold, in spite of being abused it's whole life. Poor thing.
I remember my old coworker had one of those. His was a 97 F150 and the trans died at 330k. My 01 E150 that I had when I worked there blew the engine at 310k. They were both company trucks by the way. My coworker became a electrician and I started a oil change shop.
Dangg not bad I mean it could use some work but don't seem that bad lol put some matching tires on it and give it a bath and few other things it might need like engine wise lol and change radio and put floor Mats in it and clean it all up and replace missing or broken pieces on inside and it be good truck but I know these are so bad for transmission issues tho but not bad sounds good i probably put cherry bombs on it or flowmaster exhaust
Well considering it has 306,000 I'd say that transmission would appreciate a rebuild some day. But after the rebuild as long as someone changes the fluid out like they should, those 4r70w transmissions are good. They were in p-71s for a good long time, with well over 500,000 miles with maybe one rebuild.
This would only be good for a farm where it would not be licensed and be able to be sold as is for about $700. As he said, it would be impossible to make money on this thing, as even if you replaced many of the parts, you would only have a rough single cab work truck with a utility interior, 300,000 miles and a bashed in door. I am guessing that a truck identical to this with only 100,000 miles in excellent condition would go for no more than $3,500. This truck would probably take over $1,000 to just make it roadworthy which would make it worth less than what he paid for it plus the repairs.
@@kennethsouthard6042 I mean going cheap way like junkyard funding other parts to put on it just to make it good enough to drive and everything like that I didn't mean like brand-spanking-new things and all that but yeah I get what you mean

The 88 Chevy PU style and this style Ford PU make me think of a slip on tennis shoes, casual not made for heavy work, more weekend type projects like picking up a trellis,or a few plants at home depot,or stack of styrofoam insulation
I think you could sell it but if you don't it might make a good salvage yard truck to carry load and unload parts. Etc plus it's 4 x 4 and if it works would be good when driving in all that mud. I think if you put a driver's door on it a door panel a bench seat vinyl or cloth another floor cover rubber or carpet and a general cleanup. I think it would sell. I'm glad your dad is doing well.
Happy to read your dad got a new heart on his birthday! I know the description said it's now a yard truck. But I always wondered are parts between the f150 (this gen) and the expedition such as doors/dashboard etc swappable between the two?
Yep, with that mileage it's just not worth trying to put it back on the road. That would probably just end up as one of those cases where you fix one thing and something else immediately breaks. But being 4x4 it'll make a good yard beater until the engine or transmission explodes. And you'll still have the replacement alternator which has to be worth maybe $50, and possibly some other parts that can be salvaged and sold on. A person would need to be really keen, and brave, to take that one on as a project. It really is a case of dead man walking...
Jay, look up that audio mixer in the half road ready case that was in the bed of the truck with the washing machines. Even broken some of those professional board are worth serious $$$
