Learned to drive in my Dad's Two tone tan 96 ext cab, It was a 2WD with a 8 foot bed, Had a Transmission line leak (entire sections were rusted away and had to be repaired with rubber brake hose by yours truly) Radio worked only real complaint Dad had was it wasn't a stick like his 82 Ranger.
I had the same truck! My dad bought it brand new in 1996 ,with the 351 v8 .. it had 12,000 miles on it, and when I got it from him in 2022 the truck had 270,000 miles on it ❤!! All original with no modification whatsoever!! He would drive it to our properties in Montana about 50 outside of Missoula and hed drive it to Klamath falls Oregon about 4 times a year to make sure our properties were in good shape and not overgrown with stuff! The truck is in my shop now. Been there since early 23.. it has no dents ,no fading, inside and out the truck looks quite new still,
Gorgeous truck. I had a regular cab short box 96 F150 Eddie Bauer edition, also black and tan for 14 years. I absolutely loved the truck. Got looks and people wanted to buy it off me everytime I took it out. Ultimately, it was stolen in 2018 and totalled. :( Ohh the good memories we had together... (Basically my 30s and 40s)- I just turned 50). I hope you enjoy your truck for many years to come.
@@cookingwithsanjay wow that is too bad, I would hate for that to happen. Hopefully you find another one similar to bring back some of the nostalgia! I’ll be posting more videos so you can track the progress on it! Like and subscribe for more!!
@@KyleReese26thank you for kind words. It's taken me til now to start considering anything. Currently seeking a 96 Bronco, Eddie Bauer black and tan again. Absolutely loved the look.
Mines at 95 Burgundy four-wheel-drive single cab 5.0 manual transmission. I love my truck. I’ve replaced just about everything you could replace on it. If you haven’t yet, you should replace your steering box with a redhead steering box. That’ll take care of your steering wheel play.
Very beautiful 96 F150 brother, I have a 1996 Ford F150 with a 5.0L (302) Windsor V8 with 211,000 miles on it and still going strong, the only things I replaced on my truck was the starter, the rear fuel pump, and the power steering megunisum but other than that mostly was just simple maintenance, took out the transmission fluid just to get rid of the shuttering it was making and it hasn't had a problem ever since.
@@Alan-m6x6v it’s awesome, the only other truck that stacks up to it is the 96-98 Chevy/gmc 1500s. But I really like the front end a whole lot better on the ford. Once the IFS wears out they ride bad, have loose steering and then cost a bunch to replace all the parts.
@@chrismarbrey9678 those are really cool. There’s a reg cab 94 2wd long bed that’s red and white 2-tone all original that’s been sitting with some sort of issue, near where i live. It’s in really good shape. Been thinking about picking it up if he’d sell.

I’ve lived in Florida my whole life, and out of all the trucks I’ve owned, I’ve never had the frame rust like that. The person must’ve lived near the Gulf or Atlantic nice truck though.
@@Husky-pb7xi I think this one has been a really good example of a clean version of one of these trucks. It doesn’t feel like an old truck when driving, has really good highway mannerisms and handles well. I had an OBS Chevy before this with the same mileage and I think the Chevy is probably a little more reliable but overall I have really enjoyed this truck
@@KyleReese26 thank you, yeah that truck really is a good example of a well taken care of truck. I have just been wondering about if I should get it for a first car and been doing some research!
