Early pics looked like it was 9" but now it looks like a 6" can. It's steel too... if only I knew it was affordable. And if it was possible to make it backwards compatible with with QD mounts I can put on a 300 blk. The bore isn't that much bigger enough to not pull double duty... it'd certainly be better at it than a 358 rifle can. I know... make the 8.6 barrel threads effectively the same as 30 cal cherry bomb threads. That way you can direct thread the 8.6 on an adapter on the porq chop, which will give you bigger volume, and then transition the same can, without modification, to a honey badger with a cherry bomb, the bore might leak sound, but the porq has more volume, so it might be able to pull double duty effectively. Then maybe you could use a whistle tip AS your thread protector. Just an idea.
Does anyone else hear a high pitched ‘ping’ when he fires? If so, any idea what that would be? Super excited for this to come out and to get my hands on it! 🔥🔥🔥
You guys using medium 308 style primer pockets or the 6.5cm smaller primer pocket? (The 6.5 cases with smaller primers are supposed to make for more accuracy and safer higher pressures for handloaders).
I'm super interested in this 8.6. What is the Super and Sub bullets you guys are using . Also what's the velocities on subs and supers . I wanna look up the external Ballistics in Hornady Ballistics Calculator. I'm gonna be super interested 12.5 8.6. This cartridge is gonna be epic . I have no doubts ..
@@ravissary79 Man those 210Gr would be awesome. That gives almost 930 ft pounds of energy at 500 yards . That makes 12.5 8.6 effective on Deer and hogs to 500 yards. Super impressive . The 210gr and 300gr are gonna be bad ass out of 12.5. I'm a sucker for 12.5s
@@seanwhite304 i know right? And remember that the spin makes bullets easier to expand at lower speeds, so even if the bullet hits at 1700, or maybe 1600, it's going to do comparably to how most rounds do at 1800, as far as actually mushrooming. But I wonder if I going to tear petals off at 2500, and we already know know blows up non bonded bullets when pushed supersonic, because they're going close to 400,000 rpms. Personally I wonder how a frag design like a cutting edge Lazer or esp raptor or MTH are Goin to do with that spin? Are the pieces going to sheer off at wider angles leading to more brutal shallow wounds but less impressive deeper ones? I'd love to find out.
@@ravissary79 Yeah I for sure wanna see which bullets perform the best for that 210g Bullet . Nosler Partition is usually my go too . It works extremely good at high and low velocities down to 1800 FPS or so . Nosler Partition , E-Tip or Accubong and Federal Edge TLR are my absolute favorite bullets . The Edge TLR IMO is 10× better than ELDX or ABLR.
Nice. I'm curious if SIG will make a Spear model like they did with the Rattler 300, but in 8.6. I have two Rattlers now. If they did I'd buy one for sure. 8.6 is a freight train! But now I see this I may go with a bolt gun for a change! Gonna start saving up starting rightttttt... now!😁
Cool concept, too bad whoever made that rifle doesn’t have a clue what they’re doing. Watch him try to get a cheek weld it looks like a dog f*#&ing a football. The gun maker was more concerned with making it look cool then shootability.
This had me curious when announced a while back. Now it has my attention. Keep up the great work Q 💪🏼
I've heard about terminal ballistics of the fast twist 8.6blk, but have yet to see any. Let's see some tests in calibrated ballistics gel.
Need more videos of the 8.6, though I would have preferred it be called 338 BLK.
Man I can't wait for this to come out. I can't wait to load 8.6 like I load 300blk. Which I damn near load every day!
My fingers are crossed that I'm getting a call on November 5th. Love you guys
This is perfect! Just finished a 12.5' 308 pistol! Time to the ball rolling on a 338 can. Seems the hype is justified for 8.6!
Dude 300 blkout is a perfect round just everybody wants to be stuck on there 5.56
cannot wait to do an 8.6 Fix build day
Great video! Keep innovating team! Keep it up Kevin!
Can wait to see some actual ballistic information.

JDJ would be really ticked if he knew they had stolen another one of his famous "Whisper" cartridges.
Sweet I love Mr starks reaction
Patiently waiting and watching the development of 8.6 Blackout!!
I'd love to see if that's how he operates the trigger of a precision rifle at long range. That's some serious trigger slap.

If they are using a 3 prong flash hider it could be causing the ping like the old AAC 3 prong mounts.
I'd assume he's shooting a steel plate...
@@cGHunt3r it happens too immediate to be the steel plate.
An update on this comment… early 8.6 cans were noted to have this “ping” that has been resolved in later production Q silencers.
Will the pork chop suppressor work with 338 lapua mag.
Did you do a breech cure before firing? I highly doubt it
I've built a lefthanded 8.6! Lets Good!
I wonder what a heavy barrel version of this as a standard 20 inch rifle barrel with sonic loads will do?
awesome, cant wait

Gorilla is making ammo for it and faxon is making barrels. I’m curious
I want one soooo bad sounds great guys you finally did it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@mstngo practice makes perfect I’d rather see someone practicing than not
Damn. That looks very interesting!!!! Ballistics??
Can we get this in an SBR from the factory? How much is ball ammo going to cost?
What powder are you using for that,? And what powder charge,?
Hi Kevin, so...
6.5 Creedmoor becomes 8.6BLK
6.5PRC becomes ?
I fucking want this. I was gonna build a 338-08 with this in mind, but y'all are better r&d than I could ever kick up.
John Browning would have loved to have hung out with y'all.
Definitely interested in this
I. Cant. Wait.

Supposedly, if I remember correctly it's something like, from a 12.5"
Sub= 300@1050 or 1000fps
Supers=210@2100+/-100
And 160@2500 or so.

Make it an 8.5 inch integrally suppressed AR10 and I'll buy one even if its 5k
