    Amber, you are reacting to Tom Jones exactly like most women did in the 1960's and 70's. No entertainer had more ladies undergarments tossed to him while he was on stage than Tom Jones. :)

  • @renee176
    @renee176 Год назад +32

    My mother was a big Tom Jones fan; so as a gift, my sister bought her tickets to a show. My sister also had to sit her down and talk to her about keeping on her undergarments. It was well known that women would (for obvious reasons) through their undergarments onto the stage at his shows...lol! Tom Jones was the man back then and he still today sounds good and looks handsome and debonair...He's still got it! 😊🙂

    Check out the original English version by Cilla Black (friend of The Beatles). Reportedly when the hearse bearing Black's body arrived at St Mary's Church, Woolton for her 20 August 2015 funeral mass, "hundreds of fans broke into Cilla's 1964 hit 'You're My World'".

    This is one of the greatest songs ever written, and nobody knows it. Totally insane world we live in. Cilla Black had a great version of this also. And the orchestra, out of this world, shows what treasures we have lost by allowing computers to replace them.

      There are artists who recognize the value of computer-free performances, but it does seem the industry favors heavily digitized recordings to the degree that nuance is lost. Doesn't that seem so symbolic of our current time? I don't think it can last.

Once I had to go to the Dr and told him, I've been singing What's New Pussycat over and over for weeks... It was starting to drive me crazy!!!! He told me, "Sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome" "OMG" I said, "Is that Rare"????? He said, Oh... "It's not Unusual". 😂 I'm so sorry..... Happy Holidays. Keep up the great reactions ❤️ and thankyou.

    I was just a youngster when Tom Jones was popular, but I was crazy about his songs, especially the fast paced ones. I remember bringing my 45 record of 'She's a Lady' to some function we were having in my sixth grade class - it started off as a hit with my classmates too until I had played it about fives times! Like Elvis, Tom can sing virtually anything =and make it amazing= it's no wonder they became good friends (so it's been said.) One of my favorite songs by him is 'With These Hands' - I think you'll both LOVE it too. If my memory serves me correctly, around the same time Tom was becoming the crooner he is, another heartthrob was gaining attention... that would be Engelbert Humperdinck - my favorite song from him is 'Take My Heart' - check it out! And, lastly... thanking the pair of you for all of your great reaction videos. Subscribed.

      The original was apparently an Italian song "Il mio mondo" sung by its co-writer Umberto Bindi. It was never a hit, not even in Italy (says Wikipedia). @@magneto7930 it was nice up til about 50 seconds in, then she turned up the "Cilla Rrrrrrrrrggggghhhh" & that ruined it for me. Lovely sound in her softer voice but her full voice was so strident, it was like being stabbed in the ears. Always loves Tom Jones since I was a kid. However I never realized what a great person he was until (back in about '74) listening to a radio interview while travelling through the States I heard a 2 hour interview of Tom recounting his days of singing relative honkey tonks through the south and dealing with the racism of the time as he used to sing along side black singers.... I hope you got his book. Until then I was put of by the sex symbol thing but then I realized he was a great human being and I started to like that part as well as I realized he basically couldn't help it. He was just a consumate showman. And there's that voice......

    I wonder if you can find the old Tom Jones TV shows on one of the streaming services. I don't have streaming here, so I don't know if it's even available. Anyway, you would love it...Tom being Tom on every show!! My grandmother and I never missed it!!

    Another great choice, guys, from a legend and favourite of my wife. A proud Welchman, Sir Tom shares his patriotism and longevity with another great artist, Dame Shirley Bassey. Please try her singing 'Diamonds Are Forever', one of two James Bond film themes she recorded. Be well!
