Jay & Amber, you'll love his "Its Not Unusual" !!!!
It's Not Unusual was Tom Jones first hit and was released in March 1965 (59 years ago).
Actually kind of surprising they haven't Reacted to that one yet! :) It's a Tom Jones Staple! :)
It was never powerful enough compared to the rest. Still a great song though
Love that song!! ❤
@@futurechampions92 it will forever live as the Carlton Dance song, and the finally to Mars Attacks.
Tom is in his eighties and can still belt out a song. He is a unique individual in many ways. So gifted in ability, charisma and endurance. Extraordinary man.
Tom has been a huge star since the 60s. He was actually a friend of Elvis .
She's a lady is my fav👍👍👍
FROM the super 70s
Yes!! My fave. 🎶 🎶Whoa whoa whoa she’s a lady🎶🎶
Young Tom Jones - Green Green Grass of Home. Older Tom Jones - his cover of Prince's "Kiss" or his cover of the Talking Heads "Burning Down the House (With The Cardigans)
Tom Jones covered Prince?!? I’ve got to look that up.
@kevinsacks3185 ditto. Or even his relatively recent cover of Randy Newman’s “You Can Leave Your Hat On”. And Joe Cocker’s version is also key.
So I looked it up. Oh my! My life is complete now!
Etta James does a good cover too. But I think Joe Cocker's version is the best.
Tom Jones and Crosby Stills and Nash doing Long Time Gone is phenomenal! Tom and Stephen Stills get into a singing battle that will blow you away!
I absolutely second that recommendation!
Agree, "Raise your hand" duet with Janis Joplin, is also fire. Many great moments on his late 60s TV show to rediscover.
Tom Jones has one of the best popular voices EVER!
Our Welsh boy. Still going strong. So proud.
🇬🇧 O. M. G.... Why am I crying? I'm embarrassed to say that I have never heard this song before, but Jeeez. This is beautiful, what a voice. 😮❤❤❤❤❤
The Green Grass of Home
My fave of his
This song is my all time fave of Toms. It takes me back to my childhood I distinctly remember that song as a child. ❤️👌🏾
Yes Green Grass of Home is beautiful but sad. I like the video one he did , probably from his TV show.
Definitely Green Green Grass Of Home needs to be your next listen. Great reaction by the way!
@@brucelawrence4243 You're right,it is a bit of a melancholy song but it always reminds me of my home land (England),every time I hear it it brings back memories from my young days.
Sir Tom gives eargasms. 👍❤️
Tom Jones - "I Won't Crumble With You If You Fall" on The Voice UK 2022.
What he says before and after singing this song is heart-rending.
By the way his rendition of the song is simply show-stopping.
You will both love it.
I strongly believe that Tom Jones can absolutely hold a tune.
You have got to hear him sing I Who Have Nothing. It will rip your heart out
My mom absolutely loved Tom Jones -- and I'm 64. So he's been around a few years.
'Green Green Grass of Home' is yet another one to try. Cheers.
Hi Jay and Amber Greetings From England 🇬🇧 When Tom Jones Wife Linda Passed Away Tom recorded The Song " I Wont Crumble With You If You Fall" This is Such Beautiful and Heartfelt Song From Tom and a Loving Personal Song to The Memory of His Late Wife Linda and Even at 80yrs old Tom's Voice simply gets better with age and you really should listen to this song
Amber if you love Tom you’ve got to look up videos of him singing these songs so you can really “enjoy “ him.
I have such great memories of how much fun it was to watch the Tom Jones show as a kid in the late 60's early 70's. LOL. Mama was mesmerized. (Mom and sisters all watched it together) I grew up in an era of MUSIC! Folk, Blues, Jazz, World, Rock in one form or another it was all there, and we danced, partied and cried a little to it all!
Yes we had all the best music.
The man sings like a god!!!!!
He's doing concerts out in Australia now. All the Welsh Aussies saying he's still got it.
Jay, Amber youll love his James Bond "Thunderball".
I love your reactions to Tom. I was in the seventh grade when his show came out and I was hooked. I would go to sleep every night playing his albums. Jay do not been bad for blushing!! My woman loved him too. Can't believe this man is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!! What a shame!
Tom Jones song "She's a Lady"
I was so lucky to see Tom Jones 4 days ago in concert in Perth Western Australia, his voice was absolutely amazing and for somebody who is 83 his energy was unbelievable.
Tom Jones was one of my mother's favorite singers. He has that voice that stands the test of time.
Love love love❤❤❤❤❤ Him never tire of him !!!!!!!!!!
What’s New Pussycat - wooa oh oh oh 🤠🎼🎶🎼🎶
I have been in love with Tom Jones and his music for over 50 years. My mom introduced me to his TV show when I was 8 or 9 years old. We used to watch it together, just her & I - no dad or brothers. He was my 2nd crush (1st was Underdog which I had outgrown by then) & his music has been with me my entire life.
I saw him at the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, Oregon in the late 1990s. And yes, there were panties flying at him but I did not participate.
Thank you for the reaction today & for every time you reacted to one of his songs. 💜
There’s no need to fear- Underdog is here! Wally Cox as Underdog was cartoon genius🤠
I was teenager when his show was on. I thought he was so gross. LOL
I was in the 4th grade when I watched Tom’s show with my family. Like you I had a crush on him.
You really need to listen to I'm coming home. A classic Tom vocal performance
My grandmother and I used to watch him when he had a TV show back in the late 60s. We LOVED the show and him!!
Thank you for going back to Tom again!
Tom Jones is the best ❤️
Even though Tom Jones was considered a soloist, he also was included in the U.K. bands, groups and recording artists that were part of the British Invasion by flooding America with international hit records and reaching high and on top of the billboard charts in the U.S. back in the 1960's. " It's Not Unusual" he belted out in this song released back in 1965 and his smash hit "Delilah" from 1968 are a couple of my favorites.🎤🎵🎶🔊🎧
Always enjoy your reactions to Tom Jones! I saw him in Las Vegas in 1980, yes, 1980. Believe it or not, we had seats right at the stage, it was a long table and my seat was at the stage, got to see him rather close up! I've never forgotten that show. I agree with others here, check out his performances on The Voice U.K. He could sing the alphabet and be fabulous.
'The green, green grass of home' I think it was his MOST successful single!
"It's Not Unusual", "Green Green Grass Of Home", "I'll Never Fall In Love Again", "Help Yourself", "Till" are all early Tom Jones classics that you have yet to cover.
Get Ready, If i only Knew, I Wake up cryng, etc
You guys make smile . Many of these love songs could be about you 2 beautiful people.
Tom Jones : If i only Knew!! 1994 Hit!
Amber you looked like you had tears in your eyes. But he does have the most amazing voice. And still singing at 82.
Ahhh Tom !!!!
Jay & Amber you should watch some of the videos of Tom Jones as a coach on the UK version of The Voice. He is still an amazing singer in his 80's
Green Green grass of home or Detroit City are my favourites
He looks like that, is built like that, and SINGS like THAT! Thanks for sharing your reaction
Love me Tonight! Great song
One of my favorite Tom Jones songs (so many to choose from)🙂 Check out "Only Once," "A Boy From Nowhere," and "Without Love." You won't be disappointed. Keep the reactions coming!
He sang the title theme to the James Bond film, Thunderball. The power of his voice is on full display! Please include.
I'm so glad you guys steep yourselves in all this great music from my generation - it beats nearly anything from today. And many of the songs of today are just covers of these great songs.
You would love two of his songs in particular: "Till" and "The Boy From Nowhere"
Jay And amber when Tom first met Elvis in 1965 Toms current hit record at that time was called WITH THESE HANDS and as Elvis walked towards Tom ELVIS was singing WITH THESE HANDS to him. You must listen and react to Toms WITH THESE HANDS.
The cadance of this song is reminiscent of Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers, but really Bobby Hatfield. But of course Tom Jones has a totally different type of voice and timbre. Very beautiful.
This is a relatively obscure Tom Jones song. His first and biggest hit was 'It's Not Unusual'. "Without Love' and 'Help Yourself' were also big hits for him.
Tom Jones_Treat Her Right is easily his most rewarding & entertaining. Ck out his moves!
The first singer I'm aware of that was famous for his effect on the women in the crowd was your boy Frankie. When he was a youngster, they flocked around him like they did around Johnnie Fontane in the movie The Godfather.
My wife and her mom got tickets to see Tom Jones in Naples, FL. I decided later I wanted to see him too. I sat by myself amongst all the women, what a show, glad I went.
I always say " Hark at them fiddles " .... so many old songs have a big string section that take you soaring up with the song . Also I feel that so many old songs did actually tell a story and were sung with a clear diction , thats why we can remember the words years later .
That was a TJ gem I had forgotten about! Great reaction! If your goal is to make someone smile you can consider it accomplished, LOL!
First time for me too such a good song🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love me some Tom Jones!!!!
Tom’s voice is smooth and silky like molasses 🥰
I have been fortunate enough to have seen Tom Jones in person several times. He is a phenomenal performer! You should check out "I'm Coming Home." It's a beautiful song and shows off his range of vocals. Thanks for reacting to him and glad you both love him.....❤❤❤❤❤
Go on, Tom, fantastic you do us Welsh people proud .Thanks for sharing ❤
You’ll love it’s not unusual
Tom Jones
First Class 🎶
The uncrowned King of Wales. He's been there and great for all my life
Tom Jones has the VOICE!❤️✌🏻🎶
The fantastic Sir Tom never let's you down with a song, soooo the next one you need is his cover of Kiss by your man Amber Prince😊❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Dear Jay ...you always refers to the song 'Treat her righ't' (when he kissed women from the audience !) as the first time you reacted to him (12 July 2021)... but the actual first time was the reaction to 'I'll never fall in love again' ... a great song sung live on a BBC TV show in 1967... I'm surprised you did forget this one .... that being said, keep up with the great work and greetings from Belgium.. Luc
Incredible voice
Tom jones my mum loved him went to see Tom many times empire theatre in liverpool
Amber and Jay, Thanks for sharing this Tom Jones song. I didn’t know!!! Here are three more essential Tom Jones songs you must listen to: She’s A Lady (written by Paul Anka), Say You’ll Stay Until
Tomorrow (a huge country hit) and Kiss (Prince cover with The Art Of Noise).
My first concert. I was 5 yrs. old. I went with my mom, 2 aunts, & my grandmother. I remember it being fun.
I love help yourself by Tom Jones
One of my favorite songs of Tom's. His gorgeous voice, expressing the message of those lyrics, and his engaging and disarming presence create an irresistible invitation. One to which I could NEVER say "No." He is
so confident, masculine, passionate, sincere, and positively 9:10 captivating! When he sings like this, he always makes me feel like he is singing to me, and makes me melt. Tom... I adore you, and always will.
Tom jones - you just can't go wrong ❤❤ you need tontry The Stereophonics (welsh band) Amber will love the lead singers voice .(Kelly Jones). they also do a cover WITH sir Tom called 'Mama told me not to come' 🎉🎉
Just...woow!!! I've been never heard this but loved it
Thank you for reacting to this phenomenal singer/ performer!
Another great Tom Jones song “Funny Familiar Forgotten Feelings”.
Listen to Tom Jones and Van Morrison singing together sometimes we cry...
Absolutely! I LOVE that recording. 😊
‘She’s a Lady’ is a great one by Tom, if you haven’t already done it.
Got to say this has to be one of my favourite of your reactions , just seeing you both getting lost in his amazing voice 👍
You need to pull some of his performances from the UK Voice to compare him with what he sounds like today, amazing!
Jay and Amber, you have to see a tv special he did titled, “I WAS BORN TO BE ME”. It show cases his variety of music he is known for. I know you don’t watch things that are long, but this will be worth your time. I enjoy your podcast, you both are very special.
Here we go! I worked with a lady that threw her undies at Tom during a concert! No injuries reported! Such a powerhouse. "Unfair advantage"! Yes. Brilliant! Have you ever heard the song "Ebb Tide"? Something similar here maybe.Glad you dug it.
So fun to enjoy vicariously through your enjoyment this great classic music. Thank you. Definitely put a smile on *my* face.
Tom Jones is one of the greatest singers alive and in the last 50 years. He can sing anything in any style. I discovered one of his country albums about 10 years ago and couldn’t stop playing it. And yet, there are few better rock singers, IMO. He can cover it all. His voice is beyond compare.
While maybe not as beautiful as this, one of his sexiest recent covers is “You Can Leave Your Hat On”. There’s a video from one of those TV talent shows. It’s worth reacting to that. That’s a Randy Newman song that Joe Cocker covered (and owned it, until Tom Jones covered it). There’s also an old tv show clip with Janis Joplin and Tom Jones singing a song together. Well worth your time.
Has anyone suggested Sir Thomas singing The green green grass of home, yet?
Have your tissues at the ready.
This has always been my favorite TJ song since I heard it at age 6, and I used to always sing it when I would frequent karaoke bars in the 90s. Needless to say, it never did me any harm with the ladies 😁
Did you know Tom sang a James Bond song THUNDERBALL , when he recorded it he passed out on that last note
"Funny familiar forgotten feelings"good song.
Aw I’m so proud to have such an icon come from my hometown 🏴
Wow. What town? In Wales somewhere I'm sure.
@@johnsilva9139 yes it’s a very small old mining town in the Rhondda valleys called Pontypridd ❤️
A first time hearing for me too and I am speechless! That was so beautiful it almost brought me to tears!
You ought to look up videos of Tom singing with some of the biggest acts of his era on his TV show and elsewhere, many of whom I know you know: Wilson Pickett, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Little Richard, the Supremes, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Tanya Tucker... the list goes on and on. Tom could sing on par with anyone in any style.
"What's New, Pussycat?" and "Green, Green Grass of Home" are two more of his hits Amber will enjoy. I also like clips on RUclips of him as a coach on the British "The Voice." This old man really enjoys watching both of you & wished you lived nearby so we could have coffee or a Coca-Cola.
You mentioned Tom & Elvis how they effected women. Elvis & Tom were very good friends. When Tom first came to the US and was making music he was excited to meet Elvis. Elvis loved Tom's voice. They were friends ever since first meeting.
Watching the two of you react to the miracle that is Tom Jones voice is so much fun I can’t stop smiling :)
Phenomenal
You all need to hear him now at 80 on The voice
THE ELECTRA FINING MR TOM JONES.
Still touring and his voice in my opinion is getting better !
Will be here in Halfax UK ,again this summer.
Also check out He'll Have to Go, I Get Carried Away, Let There Be Love, How Do You Say Goodbye, Laura.
Help Yourself is a fun song. 60's vibe for sure ❤
