I absolutely love this lay out especially the smaller but fully functioning kitchen with more living space for seating and entertaining. I personally don't care for conversions with huge kitchens but sacrificed tiny uncomfortable looking living spaces. This is ideal for one person. As a female who would be solo, I'd only change one thing and that's, less windows for me for privacy. Great build. Thank you for sharing.
Really turned out great. Love hearing about all the reclaimed stuff. Few things I would change but that’s personal preference. You could build these for people when things are slow for your building company! It certainly would be easy enough and there are plenty of people who like using reclaimed items! Hope your son enjoys his new digs! Vaya con Dios!!
Simple yet elegant....new subber....I guess if I lived in it full time, I'd want an outdoor shower, composting toilet, and maybe thick, insulated curtains on the windows.....good job!!!!
Very cool layout. I live in a converted short bus currently and have for the last 4 years. Really like the passenger seat and the couch. It's rare to see a kitchen in the back like that, I love it. Nice job.

Brad. If he's able to block the emergency backdoor and window, maybe build a foldable deck that connects to the trailer hitch. The deck could be folded up for storage/ driving. He'll just need to fold it down, open the backdoor and have a huge area to hangout. If you design the deck to follow the contour of the bus, he won't have to worry about creating additional drag while driving.

Great workmanship. Take it from an OCD Nomad, There's a lot of wasted space. Just saying. Love the bathroom door. There is a shower you could've installed and with a portable composting toilet that stores in shower when not in use. A lot of RV'ers are converting their flushing toilets to compost. Easier using 'no smell' pine pellets and no cost to dump.
Love this!!! Color? White is great to reflect sun but hard to keep clean, so maybe a two-tone gray (lighter on top, darker on bottom)? Some shade of gray, imo, is a great color (charcoal is my fav). Name? A retired vet (in a RUclips video) named her bus "Sarge" which fit her & the bus. 🙂 Since it is a retired school bus, maybe a name having to do with summer, like Summer Ride or Summer Fun? Hey, a better idea for the table is to have a pole that clicks into a small hole in the floor and table top to have the counter, but unclicks and is stored away If you need the bed Also what kind of couch is that?
I converted an ambulance a few years ago. It worked pretty good but to short for me so I sold it. You could always wrap it with your RUclips channel and business contacts. Free billboard advertisements. 😂
This is a really great build. I totally agree no black water I could even deal with compost toilet don’t want to deal with that nasty black water gray water is different … great build great job looks great I could travel in that
Brad where the stop sign used to be. Use the mechanism and you could put a removable screen so they can watch the game outside. Run the wiring through the mechanism.
E450 just like my Bluebird 2004 (rebuilt engine/transmission) Love how you created a seat for a passenger as sitting further back requires shouting to the driver! BTW did you put the spare tire underneath?
BtB with another great one. Definitely seemed a little higher than expected for how much was “reclaimed” id be interested to hear how much was the couch, table and generator
I’m going off memory because it’s been a little while… Generator installed $5500 Propane tank installed $1800-$2200 Wiring, inverter and Batteries $2500-$3000 Couches & booth table from RV supplier $3000 - $4000 Kitchen cabinets, cook top, water tanks & sink $1500 Bathroom toilet, framing & door $950 I’m sure there is more… but I hope this helps! When you get into these projects, lots of surprises show up with hidden costs
I heard that phrase when I lived in Tennessee years ago it’s only fitting for a very few people!! I sure wished I had some of your energy I’d get a lot more done lol keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see flair’s house when it’s done!
We Chose to keep the ceiling as is for headroom and to keep the costs down. so far it seems efficient but adding insulation to the ceiling Might have help keep the bus quiet when going down the road! 🤔🎺
that is really nice for a young man so as long as he doesn't invite a lady friend to move in there with him it will work great. she's gonna need some hot water and a real toilet would be nice but she might be able to do with that for a while. it sounds like fun until you try to do it for an extended length of time lol if you put in an instant hot water heater on the sink they could use a shower head to get a shower just outside that back door on the bus, there are some things you can't do by heating up water on the stove.

Cool! I worry about condensation. Good thing it's a small bus cause I think shore power goes on the other side.
The power cord was put next to the breakers, this bus is very water tight
@@BradtheBuilder It's awesome! Thank you for sharing it with us :)
@ thanks for reaching out!
Hey, a better idea for the table is to have a pole that clicks into a small hole in the floor and table top to have the counter, but unclicks and is stored away If you need the bed
Also what kind of couch is that?
Can we get a video of him taking it out or you and him going camping love the build awesome job!!!
What I should do is hitch up the rolling deer blind so I have a extra camper to hang out in with Flair
@@BradtheBuilder hahaha totally agree!!! 👍
Awesome video and thanks for the Rv update and tour.
Welcome
Thanks for sharing really impressed with your skills.
Have a great day.
This is a pretty cool school/church bus build!
Thanks! We had fun building it out 👍
How about painting it a mint green or Lagoon Blue, Teal be a nice color too
Looks good love to see yall go glamping
I converted an ambulance a few years ago. It worked pretty good but to short for me so I sold it. You could always wrap it with your RUclips channel and business contacts. Free billboard advertisements. 😂
That’s a good idea, I’m not sure if my son would go for it🤔
This is a really great build. I totally agree no black water I could even deal with compost toilet don’t want to deal with that nasty black water gray water is different … great build great job looks great I could travel in that
Thanks Laura! I need to get the bus on the road and test her out🎺👍
Brad where the stop sign used to be. Use the mechanism and you could put a removable screen so they can watch the game outside. Run the wiring through the mechanism.
Great idea! 👍
Good job dad, blessed son!
And with the beds, two people don’t have to share a bed, but 3 can, perfect for a young bachelor 😉
Great video and Happy Father's Day !
Thanks
I love the simplicity of this build
Thanks Donna 🤠👍
Your son is Blessed, beautiful job
You are so kind
As a retired US Navy sailor, my thoughts go to Blue Angel Blue with Yellow touches. Or you could always go with battleship gray. Just sayin'!🤣
Tina, that’s a great idea👍.
Thank you for your service🇺🇸
E450 just like my Bluebird 2004 (rebuilt engine/transmission) Love how you created a seat for a passenger as sitting further back requires shouting to the driver! BTW did you put the spare tire underneath?
🤔. I need to check on that? 🎺
BtB with another great one. Definitely seemed a little higher than expected for how much was “reclaimed” id be interested to hear how much was the couch, table and generator
I’m going off memory because it’s been a little while… Generator installed $5500
Propane tank installed $1800-$2200
Wiring, inverter and Batteries $2500-$3000
Couches & booth table from RV supplier $3000 - $4000
Kitchen cabinets, cook top, water tanks & sink $1500
Bathroom toilet, framing & door $950
I’m sure there is more… but I hope this helps!
When you get into these projects, lots of surprises show up with hidden costs
Nice job, at first glance I thought the pop up outlet might be the tap for a kegerator. Wishful thinking I guess.
Darn! 🙆♂️. Is it to late to change out?
I love that you left the ceiling alone and kept the luggage rack.
Brad I just love what you can do!!! Your handy as a shirt pocket 🥰
Haha that’s funny! I’ve never heard that one before… I might steal it from you🤔❤️
I heard that phrase when I lived in Tennessee years ago it’s only fitting for a very few people!! I sure wished I had some of your energy I’d get a lot more done lol keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see flair’s house when it’s done!
@@Cthomas5678 Cheryl, Flair’s cabin will be done soon!🤠🎺
Love it Brad! It does need a fancier name than Gus the Bus!
Any thoughts? 🎺
Twenty grand well spent. I love the functional layout. What about ceiling insulation for some environments?
We Chose to keep the ceiling as is for headroom and to keep the costs down. so far it seems efficient but adding insulation to the ceiling
Might have help keep the bus quiet when going down the road! 🤔🎺
It's not a big problem as everything else is perfect. Be blessed and enjoy your travels.👍
I just came across your channel. I grew up in Wisner, Nebraska. I now live in Iowa, but my family still lives there. Nice bus.
I’ve been to Wisner that’s a nice town! Thanks for subscribing… I hope you stick around and watch more videos🤠👍🎺.
I would love to watch a video of you going camping sounds fun
I have to work on a camping video
This bus is so clean and spacious!
Thanks! 👍
That is awesome! Love to see some camping videos!
I Will work on some! Thanks for watching 🎺👍
Wow! That is so cool!! I love it! Well done!!!
Thanks Judy🤠🎺
Yes would love to see you guys go camping.give it a whirl.lol
I like how you have the bathroom at the very back. For some reason you don't see that too often.
Thanks! And it can double as a closet
Very cool bus conversion !
that is really nice for a young man so as long as he doesn't invite a lady friend to move in there with him it will work great. she's gonna need some hot water and a real toilet would be nice but she might be able to do with that for a while. it sounds like fun until you try to do it for an extended length of time lol if you put in an instant hot water heater on the sink they could use a shower head to get a shower just outside that back door on the bus, there are some things you can't do by heating up water on the stove.
Maybe he’s thinking the lack of hot water will determine how motivated she is to be a long-term girlfriend😜🎺
