I think this is a sunliner. It has a plexiglass roof. I had a 55 Merc. Sunvalley. Ive had over 80 cars, the 55 Sunvalley was by far my favorite car. We put a 428 in it. It bolted right in. Awesome car.
Robert Richards Hi Robert. This is the Skyliner with plexi top. The Sunliner was the convertible . Yes the 55 and 56 Mercury Sunvalley is one of my favorites also. I`m looking for a 56 Continental Mark II now.
Thanks ' I raced 312s for 4 years , real sleepers if you build up Merc, and Lincolns, put them in a Ford, Go to the strip , get snubbed because you got a shitty 58 Ford Coup instead of a Chev. ,They put you in F/S and you win. 14:21 88 MPH. 14:01 94 MPH. Average times. That's with 3 in the tree. But changed rear end gears to 3.23s. Would barely get out of second in the quarter. Great Memories !
I didn’t see any specs other than 317ci and cammed. What compression and what cam are you running. Starting a 57 Tbird build and want a reference. Thank you!
The problem w the 55 it's 6volt 292 & 312s don't start well if you upgraded. Although was optional 312 w4bbl duals in55 . personi know says it starts ok.its sedan delivery.
Eric Witthoeft .....Thanks for comment. Let me know if you post video of your 64. Would love to hear it. The exhaust have cutouts and that sound is straight out the Lakes Pipes. Needs cutouts replaced as the butterfly valves broke off after 5 years of running and shot out the tailpipes. Lmao
best sounding engine ever
Fantastic
When you take off from a dead stop and go threw the gears it sounds like my friends true dual straight piped 7.3 idi f250.
Good video. I grew up with 'em. Flatheads and old Fords/ Mercs. Good sounds. Thanks.
I am a pround owner of a 55 ford crown same color too beautiful
They're just a beautiful thing
May take a few days...Will see what I've got in Audio/Video files.
Appreciate your comments. Thanks n best regards
It's music to my ears, thanks!
Mine too music to my ears
B Weeks My first car was a 1957 Fairlane with a 312 in it, I think it was 1970?

Car originally had a 272 w/Fortdomatic when I bought it in 1973. I installed a Marine 312 in 1988 w/ '56 Borg Warner T85 w/R11 Overdrive

Sorry. Was done back in late 80's and specs were lost
Nice sound! What mufflers do you use? Did you join the pipes? Looking for a better sound on my 292. Thanks!

Eric Witthoeft. All the y-blocks make great music. I rarely turn radio on. Only when parked engine off. Lol
Fairlane55 hello there checking in on ya sure hope you film another new clip
@@Fairlane55 Same here my 95 f150 5.0 has long tube headers and true dual straight pipes. I love the way it sounds and I usually leave the radio off.
Don't be afraid to wind it up a bit through the gears...then it would sound awesome.
Wait a minute!!! What transmisson?
Borg Warner T-85 3 speed with R-11 Overdrive. Pulled out of a 1956 Mercury Monterey
Three on the tree with overdrive obviously
good car! what transmission had
what cam are you running?
