Today On what it’s like it’s engine episode Wednesday we are going to dive in deep on the Ford Y block engine family. Ford offered the Y block from 1954 to 1962 in cars, Production lasted until 1964 in trucks. It’s worth mentioning the Y block was produced in foreign markets until 1980.
This Engine family has one block size with 5 different engine displacements
239, 256, 272, 292, 312.
It’s important to know we are not getting into the bigger Lincoln why block design in this episode, This is an engine history episode we will not be ripping apart any engines and talking about building these engines in this episode this is just an overview of the engine history of this family
