    Twisted Timbers is my one and only RMC at the moment, and I think it earns its spot being so closely compared to Storm Chaser. Honestly I feel like it doesn’t get talked about as much though.

    Storm Chaser and Lightning Run are the two craziest rides I have ever ridden, and it’s not like I’m some coaster lightweight. I’ve done Lightning Rod, Steel Vengeance, Iron Gwazi, Velocicoaster, Maverick, and Voyage. Nothing has ever left me amazed like Lightning Run and Storm Chaser did. I really felt like without the lap bar, I would have flown at least 20 feet out of the car straight up.

    In my experience, Twisted Timbers has had the strongest airtime of any roller coaster I've been on, although I'd put Storm Chaser 3rd, with Skyrush at 2nd. I feel that both TwTim & SC are intense with the airtime and the relentlessness, but TwTim being longer makes me give it the edge for intensity. It hasn't felt like it's running out of steam to me, but maybe I caught it at its best in 100 degree days. Both are in my overall top 7.

    Funny I just got the chance to ride twisted Timbers this past weekend and was asking myself the same question. Trying to rank them between my number 3 and number 4 overall. I love twisted Timbers elements but when I went on storm chaser it was running like a bat out of hell the pacing was insane. Ultimately I give storm chaser the slightest nod because of that. Pantheon is number one though and it’s not even close. My god is that roller coaster amazing. I liked it even more than steel vengeance and my girlfriend thought the same. Just so unique

    Two coasters I thought were way overhyped….when I first rode them, I wasn’t impressed. Both were ridden in their opening years, just a couple of months after opening. I got back to twisted Timbers a couple of years afterward and was blown away. I’ve yet to return to KK…but evidently I must!! In the case of SC, I was probably pissed off because I was very much wanting to ride Lightning Rod, and for the third time, I was denied due to breakdowns in 2016. My next park on the road trip was KK, and that wasn’t the ride I was anticipating. I’ve ridden 10 RMCs to date and other than Steve, it seems they need to wear themselves in after the first year(I haven’t ridden IG yet)

    Seems like it should be TT should win by 1.1, .1 for better coaster, plus that point for theming. Longer you keep saying, but taller also significant.
    Haven't ridden SC yet, skeptical the increased intensity is a good thing, I keep trying to find the weakest row on TT, probably 42.

    I liked Storm Chaser more. Twisted Timbers is kinda repetitive (as much as I love the triple camelbacks and outerbank) and imo the Cutback is a throwaway element. It felt too slow to give any whip and too fast to give hangtime and a lot of elements are forced. And this is coming from someone who has a Twisted Timbers soft spot

    Oh c'mon Derek! You don't buy into the desolation around STORM Chaser to be exceptional theming? If a storm is going to be bad enough to warrant storm chasers it's surrounding have to look pretty devastated! Sure Cedar Fair may have gone to the extra expense of buying some old cars from a junk yard and randomly scattered them about up-side-down and on their sides, but I think the action of the ride eludes to that. You yourself seem confused buy the back story of Twisted Timbers and while Kings Dominion may have spent more and worked harder on theming their coaster. I think this is the perfect example of less is more. Point goes to Storm Chaser!

    5:45 "comes charging back into the station ready to perform a couple more elements." So Storm Chaser wins because it gives the riders hope there are more elements to come, but nah, let's abruptly end the ride at a fast speed?

    • @certifiednucci6315
      @certifiednucci6315 2 года назад

      Thats actually better in some cases bc RMC tends to force elements. So either the train crawls back to the station like Twisted Timbers or Wicked Cyclone or the elements are really forced and uncomfortable like the finale on Steel Vengeance. A hard slam into the brakes like Zadra is way more satisfying

    • @tomfeldpausch8823
      @tomfeldpausch8823 2 года назад

      @@certifiednucci6315 uncomfortable meaning ejector airtime for you then? So you don't like Magnum's bunny hills either. The only element on Steel Vengeance that I can't anticipate (and hurts me only a little bit) is the approach to the mid course brake run. For whatever reason when I am on the right side, as I am falling back into my seat, my arm hits the side of the seat.

    • @certifiednucci6315
