I totally agree with this opinion that storm chaser is criminally underrated however I think the all time most underrated rmc is wicked cyclone

I’d agree with that. I like Wicked Cyclone better but I also think it’s already held in a higher regard than Storm Chaser is.

Been on 11 RMC's, and I have Storm Chaser as my #4 RMC and it is in my top 10 overall. I agree it is underrated!. My top 5 RMC's are in my Top 10 overall- Steel Vengeance, Lightning Rod, Twisted Colossus, Storm Chaser, and Iron Rattler.

I live in Brazil, so it’s difficult to ride good or great coasters. In Brazil, problably the Best coaster is a SLC with vest restraints. But a park called Hopi Hari, is planning to open a RMC, but for the 2027 season. So, to we ride a RMC, we need to wait at least 7 years. So, if enthusiasts think that storm chaser is the worst RMC, you can give it to us hahahaha

So glad I found your channel, with what's going on in the world right now watching more of your videos gives me a lot to look forward to! For the most part I agree with your analysis of Storm Chaser. I think it falls in the "great" category and I absolutely LOVE the barrel roll drop. That's my favorite element! With that said I do think it is the weakest RMC I've been on ( Lightning Rod, Twisted Timbers, Steel Vengeance, Goliath, Twisted Colossus) because like you said about the trick track double up and how it just throws you around, it basically did that to me for the entire ride. I didn't really experience the great ejector that you describe, every hill just kind of threw me forward into the restraint. And like you said the pacing dies off at the end. Of the RMC's I've ridden I think Goliath is easily the most underrated. I rode that Summer of 2019 and it blew away man expectations. Pacing is solid, but the stall did it for me. Probably my favorite element on any coaster... LOVE the channel!

I feel like it wasn’t running great when I went to Kentucky kingdom. Maybe my back wasn’t doing so hot either, but the airtime wasn’t super strong for me and it wasn’t as fun as I would have expected.
I’ve only been on 4 RMCs, but I can definitely say my rides on lightning rod and twisted timbers were more enjoyable, and debatably Goliath too.
I wasn’t even sure if this was the best coaster in the park at the end of the day, but I’d like to come back to see if I can get some elite rides on this coaster and not just the feeling of a worse twisted timbers.

Some other people have said that in the comments as well. I could tell right away on my visit that it was hauling, so I think that has a lot to do with my opinion on it.

I think the statement of the "worst RMC" is similar to "best SLC". Even if it were the worst one, which in my opinion it's far from it, it's still a world class, destination coaster.
I think Storm Chaser is one of the most perfectly paced coasters in the world. You start out with an inversion, a straight airtime hill, a hard overbank, and a twisted airtime hill, and then do all of those things in the opposite order on the trip back, ending with what I think is the best finale to any coaster I've yet ridden. To me, the four airtime moments in a row twisted together is the most powerful sequence of airtime I can think of. Plus, it has a helix, and ooobviously any coaster with a helix is superior.
Comparing to the similar Twisted Timbers, the only thing SC doesn't have on that ride is the superior theming and setting. But Twisted Timbers uses the entire layout of Hurler, which is a very long layout, without increasing the height. While the forces stay strong from start to finish, the sense of speed through that first overbank is already lost by the time you hit the cutback, and it's trudging through the elements by the final inversion. It just seems to drag on a little too long. Storm Chaser, instead, feels like the perfect length for its height.

I love Storm Chaser. While Steel Vengeance is an elite coaster, I'd almost rather ride Storm Chaser since it offers all the intensity on a smaller and shorter scale. Storm Chaser has a satisfying length without being too intense. SV is on the brink of too intense for me.

Kentucky kingdom is my home park and I love it. I love storm chaser as well. It’s decent when the park opens but does better threw out the day. But sometimes like July and august it’s does decent well the last bit. I have only ridden 2 RMC other is Lighting Rod. I have Storm as my 2. As much as I love Storm I like Lighting better

I consider Twisted Cyclone the worst RMC purely because it looks like Six Flags and RMC didnt give a shit (Six Flags being the main offender) and used auto-complete to finish the ride, instead of you know properly finishing the ride with the cut third lap. I haven't ridden it yet but the thing is that I was hyped for the thing from when Georgia Cyclone's closure was announced, that was until I saw the animated POV and realized something was off with how quickly it hit the brakes, to say that it was a letdown after realizing that they cut out the third lap would be a MASSIVE UNDERSTATEMENT.
Plus looking at its other stats it's basically half-assed, it's not even ten feet taller than GC was, it hits the same speed as well, it feels like they did the bare minimum with the conversion instead of making the most of it knowing that people will eat that shit up regardless. I get that GA Cyclone was a small coaster, but so was Hurler (in fact Hurler was 12 feet smaller in height, but CF had almost 30 feet added to the lift) and Twisted Timbers didn't cut any laps out. So I feel justified in calling bullshit on people saying that this is the best that they could have done with Georgia Cyclone's layout if CF could pull it off with Hurler. I'm sure that if you used the newer RMC trains seen on the other two conversions that opened the same year with 110 foot lift (and drop at about 78-85 degrees) I'm sure that you could have kept the third lap in, hell maybe even extended the third lap out a bit so it wasnt a strait turn into the brakes (by that I mean the turn leading directly into the brakes).
This also has had the knock-on effect of me not getting excited when an RMC conversion is announced as Twisted Cyclone and Iron Gwazi are prime examples of how easily it can be fucked up so badly, Iron Gwazi, more like 'Wasted Potential: the Ride'.

It's not a case of whether Storm Chaser is a bad coaster because i think we can all agree it's immaculate, i think its a case of out of all RMCs it is one of the lower ranked ones.

I'm really lead to believe that they didn't quite hit their intended mark with the finale, but what a coaster. I love it so much. I have to agree with everything you said here.
And Twisted Twins was uhhh lol
    Most boring dueling coaster ever.

    • @ParkPros

I agree, the finale is the weakest part of the ride by far and just completely underwhelming.

I think it looks like a really great ride, but I don't think it looks underrated. Your opinions seem to be pretty common for this ride. From what I've seen the general consensus is that it's a lower middle tier to upper middle tier RMC depending on how it runs.
