This stuff often comes from corporate. There are multiple parks with Timber's named rides..Wonderland, Kings Island, Kings Dominion. CF is into the lumber/wood mills themes with wonderland getting a ride called Lumberjack after getting soaring timbers they year before, The Beast also has a lumber theme.
Grobble Actually, The Beast has a mine theme. The minecart near the lift has a sign over it saying "Beast Canyon Mine Co." It makes me question why it wasn't factored into the Mystic Timbers story...
Guys, editing/uploading these videos take a lot of time. You all need to have more respect for the dude. I've noticed a lot of you are asking "where's this and where's that", "hurry up with this & hurry up with that". Have patience. There's no need for you guys to try and rush him about uploading videos. We all love his videos and analysis, I understand that, but it's a little disrespectful and it comes off very unappreciative when you say some of the things you guys say to him.
5:10 It's called cutback inversion. It's been used on a few Gerslauter rides and utilized on compact coasters, but this is the first time it's been used on a hybrid/woodie.
That inversion/turn-around section I believe is called a "Cutback". Arrow put an inversion like that on the short lived Drachen Fire at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Kinda cool to see that inversion coming back, and on a much smoother coaster.
because I went to the Twisted Timbers announcement and have KD as my home park, so it automatically has priority. That was my last Twisted Timbers video, the rest are coming soon.
Excuse me, I've been working non stop for the past day trying to get out as many of these videos as possible. You can be patient. Your life isn't depending on me putting out a single video. I will get it out to you when I can.
Steel Vengeance has a longer track length than Mean Streak as well. It makes sense because they both follow the exact layout of their original counterparts from start to finish, plus they're both obviously higher than the originals.
That weird inversion/overbank is actually a cutback, its 2 half corkscrews glued together, it was first used on drachen fire at busch gardens williamsburg
I got to ride Lightening Rod twice on Monday :) It started the day down for maintenance but opened after about 10 minutes. Most of the people in line in front of us got out of line so we were on the first train of the day.
Extra length usually comes from taller hills and more difference between the highest and lowest points of the ride. Like Steel Vengeance, it sticks almost exactly to the pre-RMC layout on a 2D scale, but there is a lot more profound highest and lowest points. For example, a stretch of track that travels 500ft horizontally and has no hills at all is 500ft of track. If it has a ton of crazy airtime hills going from the ground level to high up along it, it could be 600, 700 ft. or even longer in track.
I am glad to say I have an rmc at my home park now! Also kings dominion has one of the best coaster collections in the world now because they have a great floorless, freakin intimidator 305, an inverted coaster that launches you out of a volcano, and an awesome rmc!
"Unfortunately though the one thing that comes to mind when reading that was that it sounds pretty dang similar to mystic timbers" EXACTLY WHAT I SAID. But hey, I think it's still gonna be a great edition to our home park :)
Taylor, this is not about twisted timbers, but the two raptors. I am a six flags boy. Six flags just announced theirs raptor in fiesta Texas before all of the other parks so they can have the first one, so cedar fair didnt get the first one
I may be wrong, but thanks to my extensive gameplay of planet coaster, that inversion which you identified in the video appears to be a cutback, which is basically a corkscrew, and an opposite sided exit to a normal corkscrew. Think hammerhead turn except way smaller and more spread out.
You will see something like that inversion at 5:31 if you make a reaction video to a coaster I am creating in March. I put two or maybe three in of those inversions in that coaster. It is awesome. Video coming soon on that coaster. Please react to it. That element is called a cutback.
I already love KD more than my own home park (which happens to be Carowinds) and this just makes me love it even more!! I'm super saddened the info got leaked out last week, so it sort of ruined the surprise for the name, but the rendering of the real coaster looks SO FREAKING GOOD! I hope they do some extra theming and not leave it so bare (I mean, let's be honest, the only truly themed coasters at KD are Volcano, Flight of Fear, Backlot Stunt, and I305 if you count the entire area itself). I hope those headlights on the trains actually work at night too! That would be great touch of detail. Love the analysis bro!
Kings dominion used to be owned by paramount.. Im assuming Carowinds was too since they have the hurler.. So most of the rides at some point had themes but were stripped when cedar fair took over.
I think this looks better than Steel Vengeance! I love the theme, I love the drop, I love those trains, and I LOVE that trick track double up. That was one of the craziest parts of Storm Chaser.
Those triple airtime hills back to back to back were pretty much heaven...my only complaint about this ride would be those two bunny hops immediately before and after the first overbank. They just felt off and were a bit painful as they slammed me into the left side of the car.
I wonder if I can get on this ride next year on a coaster trip. This is one of the coaster I'm more hyped for because this is a ride I might be able to go on next year on my coaster trip with my family.
Great video Taylor! I agree that you shouldn't really compare twisted timbers to Steel vengeance because they are not really the same at all, As Taylor said Steel Vengeance is twice the size of Twisted timbers. They are also two different completely different layouts and I feel that Steel Vengeance has a lot more space for Elements then Twisted timbers but for what Kings Dominion could fit I say they did amazing. Again great video Taylor. (Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens home parks woo) I also hope Busch gardens keeps adding new Coasters with this two/One year apart adding rollercoasters with Tempesto then InvadR
Twisted Timbers ROCKS 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻!!! Rode it seven times now too. The one thing I wish they kept was the handle sticks to hold onto all the time. Last July when I was there they changed them to leather handle bars. I like the handle sticks better than the bars
Somethin I never liked about a coaster, is if all the turns go to one direction. in this case they go all to the right, it would have been nice to see it go diagonal after the first floater/ejector hill and then make the layout a bit more compact out and bake similar to a coaster like blue streak as layout then to have this huge space in the middle and have the coaster only make turns to the right.
I wouldn't mind seeing Carowinds get either a GCI or a RMC Topper Track coaster. They need to get a wooden coaster to make up for tearing down Thunder Road.
The turn inversion looks similar to the inversion in Space Mountain at DLP, they call it a tounge, however it's also similar to the cutback inversion from Drachenfire
That inversion isn't the only one of its kind. It's called a cut back and they can be found on most Euro Fighters and it was on Dragon Fire at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
Well its the only one of its kind on a hybrid. And I don't know if I'd call the ones on a Euro-Fighter a true cutback. IMO those don't take you upside down. This one definitely does.
I'm not new to roller coasters, but I am new to the terminology. What is a trick track double up? I'm not understanding that part, but this ride is looking like it'll be amazing! I'm planning to take 2 weeks to see Cedar Point, KD, and Carowinds next summer. I can't wait!
str8edgeskater the reason why it's called a trick track double up is because the track does a lot of crazy tricks AKA elements and sometimes those elements include double ups.
Wrong-A trick track is when a track banks quickly without turning, and a double up is two half upward airtime hills in quick succession, so they mixed em' together and got this.
Keep in mind that the locals here in Virginia have no idea that kings island even exists so to them the back story behind twisted timbers doesn't matter that much. I think they did a pretty good job with it.
This is the 55mph variety of RMC in the USA. This one will be the longest and probably be at the top of this sub category. Twisted Timbers (KD) Storm Chaser (KK) The Joker (SFDK) Wicked Cyclone (SFNE)
“Upside down over banked turn” “Never been done before”. You mean a cutback? Haven’t you already ridden Skyrocket? Also, with that slight change thing, that’s a common thing in NoLimits. NoLimits is hard.
Kings dominion: "Can I copy off your homework?"
Kings Island: "Yeah just change it up a bit so it doesn't look obvious."
Well, they are sister parks...
Grobble Actually, The Beast has a mine theme. The minecart near the lift has a sign over it saying "Beast Canyon Mine Co."
It makes me question why it wasn't factored into the Mystic Timbers story...
GabrielROnline so true
Lol
3:39 - "Our closest RMC is going to be Lightning Rod, and that's rarely open." Dang! BURNED!
Riding just for the trick track double up
"Heck to the nahhhh"
- Coaster Studios 2017
Max Jonak Pretty sure I’ve heard that before.
When he said "Aww Man!" after that the first thing that came to my mind was the Creeper Aw man meme
Guys, editing/uploading these videos take a lot of time. You all need to have more respect for the dude. Your analysis was perfect. You are the best on RUclips by far
The turn after the trick track double up should have been a tip out corner, but only after a corked roll
When your mom finds your messy room
Mom:what happened here
Me: A trick track double up!
NICE😂👍
Weak ass joke
At 5:10 it's a cutback inversion. Sky Rocket at kennywood has one
There are Cutbacks on the new RMC raptors
yes, but this is the only one on a hybrid
Sky Rocket and Rock Bottom Plunge have them too
Coasterfan3657 There are 3 rides with cutbacks ( or 4 ) it's still cool.
Coaster Studios - yeah but you said nothing like you've ever seen, so he's got you there
Steel Vengeance's second inversion is a cutback...
I have to admit, Mystic Timbers did inspire me for another theme for my RTC3 park, so I love these type of themes
that 2nd inversion is known as a cutback the first coaster to have it was drachen fire at bush gardens willimsburg
5:10 It's called cutback inversion. It's been used on a few Gerslauter rides and utilized on compact coasters, but this is the first time it's been used on a hybrid/woodie.
Infinite Inferno u sound hurt lmao
That inverting turn will also be found on both of the RMC raptors to open in 2018!
That inversion/turn-around section I believe is called a "Cutback". Arrow put an inversion like that on the short lived Drachen Fire at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Kinda cool to see that inversion coming back, and on a much smoother coaster.
Everytime you said "twisted" i was expecting you to also say "colossus" but when you said "timbers" it tripped me up for a sec lol
This was my first rmc and I loved it and the three airtime hills were just so good
Why have you done like 5 videos for twisted timbers and none for steel vengeance?
because I went to the Twisted Timbers announcement and have KD as my home park, so it automatically has priority. That was my last Twisted Timbers video, the rest are coming soon.
Hurry up, we want your thoughts on that Vengeance of the steel variety, man :)
Excuse me, I've been working non stop for the past day trying to get out as many of these videos as possible. You can be patient. Your life isn't depending on me putting out a single video. I will get it out to you when I can.
I'm just yanking your chain. I know you work hard pumping these out. I'm a patient boy.
TheGenericZer0 You got roasted tho
the inversion you were talking about is called a cutback, it was on drachen fire at busch gardens williamsburg
Steel Vengeance has a longer track length than Mean Streak as well. It makes sense because they both follow the exact layout of their original counterparts from start to finish, plus they're both obviously higher than the originals.
That Turnaround/Inversion is called a Cut-Back, First installed on Drachen-Fire at Busch Gardens: Williamsburg by Arrow Dynamics
They designed it in roller coaster tycoon
NCH that s bend
The gosh dang S bend
No that’s storm chaser
5:10
It’s called a cutback 👍
Steel Vengeance beat out Mean Streak's old length
Can't wait to drive down there in the spring and ride it all day
This will be my very first RMC! I'm so excited for it
That weird inversion/overbank is actually a cutback, its 2 half corkscrews glued together, it was first used on drachen fire at busch gardens williamsburg
The inverting turnaround is also being featured in both the raptor track coasters but they aren't open yet either so that's pretty cool
I got to ride Lightening Rod twice on Monday :) It started the day down for maintenance but opened after about 10 minutes. Most of the people in line in front of us got out of line so we were on the first train of the day.

"The difference is that they threw in some apples"
- Taylor, 2017
Great analysis video! I did not notice the trick track double-up element on Twisted Timbers. Can't wait for your thoughts on Steel Vengeance!
Can't wait!! This is going to be great! About time Kings Dominion got a new fantastic ride!
The term for the second inversion is a "cutback". It's on a bunch of coasters, though usually not this banked.
it's cool to look back at this video after it's been released for about 3-4 years now
this video was so good!! probably your best video in awhile, good job!
I'm so excited to finally have an RMC at one of my home parks! I've never been on one so I am definitely going out to the park next year to ride it
The inversion you're describing is a cutback, seen on Sky Rocket, Drachen Fire, Wonder Woman, and Railblazer.
You will see something like that inversion at 5:31 if you make a reaction video to a coaster I am creating in March. I put two or maybe three in of those inversions in that coaster. It is awesome. Video coming soon on that coaster. Please react to it. That element is called a cutback.

Kings dominion used to be owned by paramount.. Im assuming Carowinds was too since they have the hurler.. So most of the rides at some point had themes but were stripped when cedar fair took over.
The first inversion on this looks very similar to the one that was on - Drachenfire, at Busch Gardens.
Looks great!
The teasers would make sense if the T in Timbers were upside down
I'm surprised one of the T's isn't upside down too
M&MGuy - they're confused anyway, they *are* the GP after all
I think this looks better than Steel Vengeance! I love the theme, I love the drop, I love those trains, and I LOVE that trick track double up. That was one of the craziest parts of Storm Chaser.
Great video Taylor I can't wait to go to Kings Dominion next year to ride this and to attend winterfest
That Inverted Over-Bank is called a Cutback. It is also on the RMC Raptor clone layout
Fun fact: Drachen Fire at BGW was the first coaster to have a cutback element. Cool to see an Arrow Dynamics inversion used on hybrid RMC
Lol the RCT S-bend. Thank God it existed. Never thought ill see the day i would see it in real life
I'm looking forward to this new ride in the park!
Great video Taylor! I agree that you shouldn't really compare twisted timbers to Steel vengeance because they are not really the same at all, As Taylor said Steel Vengeance is twice the size of Twisted timbers. Hey coaster studios kings Dominion is my home park too u gonna be there on opening day
I can't wait for twisted timbers to come out to the public. It will be my first RMC roller coaster.
Please tell me they're gonna do this to Carowinds' Hurler too! Not the same design, but still an RMC.
I don't think Carowinds' Hurler is going anywhere
I wouldn't mind seeing Carowinds get either a GCI or a RMC Topper Track coaster. They need to get a wooden coaster to make up for tearing down Thunder Road.
7:16 when you click planet coaster auto complete
The Over-Overbanked turn is a Cutback, also going to Railblazer and Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster
I really enjoyed the hurler during the couple of times I went to kings dominion, so this will be great.
The turn inversion looks similar to the inversion in Space Mountain at DLP, they call it a tounge, however it's also similar to the cutback inversion from Drachenfire
i love how excited he is about the friggin double up
WAIT A SECOND!
Where's the tip out corner and the corcked roll?
lol
That inversion isn't the only one of its kind. It's called a cut back and they can be found on most Euro Fighters and it was on Dragon Fire at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
Well its the only one of its kind on a hybrid. And I don't know if I'd call the ones on a Euro-Fighter a true cutback. IMO those don't take you upside down. This one definitely does.
Who doesn't love coster Studios
I can't wait I'm going to ride steel vengeance, twisted timbers and rmc Georgia cyclone oh and outlaw run but I'm going there for the time traveler
Airtime moments: well they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming...
Steel Vengeance is over 300 feet longer than MS, but still, it's great that CF isn't killing the length like Six Flags did with everything but TC
This ride was sooooooo awesome!!!
What do u think on valleyfair getting a super Loop? Lol
Pro Gamer_21 I laughed
OMG THAT LOOKS SOOO FUN CANT WAIT TO GO THIS WEEK!! 😁😁😁
Heck to the na😂😂😂!Great job josh from KD!
Twisted Timbers and Steel Vengeance will definitely go to the top on the Golden Ticket Awards
Looks better than Twisted Cyclone.
When will you be going to Six Flags Great Adventure?
I don't have any current plans for when I'll return
Coaster Studios ok
Steel Vengeance is the only other RMC Hybrid treatment that grew by a couple hundred feet rather than shrinking. I love it.
Are the trains made by RMC because the wheel assembly's look like they are very tall off the track
Like, don’t compare Twisted cyclone to steel vengeance, and no one does that!! I’m so hyped for all the new coasters in different ways!
I believe that new element is called, a "Cutback"
End they are found on El Loco coasters
Can you do Time Traveler (SDC), Railblazer (CGA) or Hangtime (Knotts)
I'm assuming that the funky shift in the track after the break run is just a rendering error, but you never know.
Hey, can you review Steel Vengeance? I know you will, but still want to ask.
I only review roller coasters I've ridden. I'll review it whenever I ride it
This is already gonna be a great coaster!!!
I'm not new to roller coasters, but I am new to the terminology. What is a trick track double up? I'm not understanding that part, but this ride is looking like it'll be amazing! I'm planning to take 2 weeks to see Cedar Point, KD, and Carowinds next summer. I can't wait!

Wrong-A trick track is when a track banks quickly without turning, and a double up is two half upward airtime hills in quick succession, so they mixed em' together and got this.
can we get a redo of the queue too so I don't have to walk nearly 1/4 of a mile to get to the station
Twisted Timbers (KD)
Storm Chaser (KK)
The Joker (SFDK)
Wicked Cyclone (SFNE)
Are you gonna analyze all of the Cedar Fair announcements and a separate video for Steel Vengeance only
“Upside down over banked turn” “Never been done before”. You mean a cutback? Haven’t you already ridden Skyrocket?
Also, with that slight change thing, that’s a common thing in NoLimits. NoLimits is hard.
That always happens when you have two nodes super close together in No Limits 2. I wonder if that's why that little 1 foot turn is on the brake run
Can you do a Coaster fight between this Storm Chaser and Medusa Steel Coaster when you ride them
I thought about that track as well. I see all the small things.
When does kings island give their announcement
This ride is so original!
I must admit Twisted Timbers looks awsome.
YES THANK YOU FOR THE ANALYSIS VIRGINIANS HYPED
5:10 A cutback is a inversion that’s half bank turn and half stall
