    I think this SIM card the important point is it will also include a local number. Not just a data access.

    • @ytfanlingeric
      @ytfanlingeric 2 месяца назад +1

      That's true. You cannot get a SIM card with local number in Japan, and many online reservations (e.g. restaurants) require a local number.

    The funny thing is in China allows you to choose a mobile number for a short term Sim card esp. as a tourist. I'm from Australia and I gotten a short term Sim card in Indonesia, Vietnam, the US, and Portugal before and never had I had the opportunity to choose the number I wanted.

    You can better buy SIM card in Hong Kong before going to China. Hong Kong SIM cards you can use for any website, nothing is blocked. You can use as normal China cards: get wifi passwords etc. You can top up with any international credit card more convenient than China cards. Best of course is that you don't need to use VPN to access google and facebook.

    Why the foreigners not using the roaming service of their own cards?

      Because foreign sim cards do not work with any china online shopping APPs, such as JingDong, Pin duoduo and Taobao. Therefore, purchasing a China SIM Card is very helpful. Unless you don't want to buy anything online.

      That's what I'm wondering too! I found them very useful when I was going on bus tours in Europe. If I had to buy a SIM card in person, it would almost be impossible. I didn't have time in the airport because the tour guide just escorted us to the bus from airport arrivals and I never could find a mobile phone service store (tried out of curiosity). Thank goodness for eSIMs while I was in Europe.

      你做梦啊,不可能的。很多人不买SIM卡,后面麻烦的事情实在太多了。因为很多人在线买东西,但都需要本地SIM卡。还有就是很多外国手机卡都无法收到手机验证码,无法注册东西,就是因为是境外卡。我们单位一大堆外国分公司的员工来上海接受产品培训,问我京东怎么买,淘宝怎么买,烦死了。而且用外国漫游的卡访问境内很多网站速度都非常慢,因为他们是漫游回到他们国家本地再访问中国境内网站。我记得即使是在香港访问境内网站都不快。
