ColRizz99 I would use ambassador coated over ambassador coated on toms and bass.... but.. to me this video sounds like coated ambassador on the batter over diplomat or clear ambassador.. for more of a note..... maybe the store will chime in. tune them higher than you think for that sound... I use vintage gretsch... I dont know what drums he is on... but it does make a difference....
for me? I try to go equal.. depending on heads.. either one may go up or down just a touch to adjust the pitch and/or resonance. It depends on the style of music..and how you like the drums to feel too

and no hats or kick. beautiful.
there's kick everywhere, watch his leg. it's just tuned and played softly.
Also hats. He closes them with his foot, especially when he's doing that uptempo Bebop ride pattern. Listen and watch again :)
Yeah the texture of the particular pair of hats he's using can be hard to hear in the mix.
