    I love SOH and the plant pot🥰

    Mine started dropping the leaves. I decided I should repot it and there was absolutely no roots nor those balls that form. So bizarre. Thankfully despite all that, it seems to be doing better after repotting. Fingers crossed that it continues to thrive.

    Thank you for this video! Untangling them water might be easier. Although, I've noticed that if you dont dry the leaves off, they tend to get squishy.

    Thanks for taking the time to talk about trouble shooting with SOH. Mine absolutely refused to take in any water and the leaves were drying up. I repotted it today and am hoping to see the leaves start plumping up. After reporting should I try to water a little more frequently until the leaves are firm? Not sure in this particular situation.

      I'm by far not an expert, but I might suggest bottom watering by soaking it in a little bath. Sometime the soil gets so impacted it doesn't let the roots do their thing, or the roots dried up so much they're like straw. Give it some time to adjust to the shock of repot and see if it helps.

      How is yours doing? I’m bottom watering mine now, they’ve been in the water for 45 mins and still bone dry on top. Mine were getting sad looking and I guess too watering it it wasn’t retaining any moisture! I was so afraid to over water them. I have 4 small pots bought at a nursery.

    Hiii I just have a question I just bought SOH Variegated it has a detached string and I proceed to propagate is that ok at this time? I know I had to do something because it will die

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  Год назад

      I think it's safe to propagate all year round so long as you're able to give it the right conditions. Cold weather slows or pauses growth. Keep it warm and bright to simulate summer. And it should be fine 🙂
      Doesn't hurt to try 🤷🏻‍♀️

    My SOH flowered and now has seed pods. It looks too stringy now, not enough leaves. It is outside, was doing good and looked way better before it flowered. It gets plenty of sun. The leaves don't look great.

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  2 года назад

      Try cutting the ends to encourage more bushy growth and pinching off the flowers to send more energy to growing leaves. Hopefully it improves 🙂

    I’d love to hear what direction the window is you keep this near! Also what is sun stress you said you love? I’ve never heard that before. Great vid!

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  2 года назад

      It is in a South facing with with an overhang. So it gets some pretty bright indirect light with some direct sun. When the leaves get too much sun, they can "stress" and turn different colors. Stressing some plants can burn them so you have to have extreme caution 😉

  • @katiemsf4111

    Mine was doing so well, but due to the intense sun, it failed to thrive. I will need to clip them all. Hope I can keep them alive !

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  3 года назад

      I'm sure a good prop and chop will help it start fresh. I gave mine too much sun at first too. It became so chlorotic.
      Good thing is these aren't too difficult to propagate, I'm sure you'll do great 👍🏼

      @@plantposey How can you tell if they are getting too much sun?

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  3 года назад

      @@rachelleslie274 hi! My experience is in the color, they tend to get sun stressed and turn a darker shade. The leaves also might start curling to protect themselves. 😊

    Great information 👍👍👍I ve a Querrey my strings of heart leaves r getting wrinked and thin what would be the reason. I'm providing it five hours of bright indirect sun followed by watering with soak and dry method, are they old leaves? that's getting wrinkle and thining. Please answer. 🙏

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  2 года назад +2

      Hello and thank you..
      Oh no! It could be a few things. So not sure what exactly. Maybe you can figure out with process of elimination.
      Could need more water, typically thinning comes from infrequent watering or insufficient water.
      Although these are succulent, I've found some humidity does help the plant. 40-60% should be enough.
      Longer exposure to light, around 8 hours give or take.
      And look into feeding your plant a well balanced fertilizer. 10-10-10 should do it.
      Hope it helps!

    Mine was shrinking up... I had it hanging in the sun. Could that be why? I moved it inside to help it recover. 🥺

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  3 года назад

      It's highly possible. Mine was in partial sun and didn't love it, when I moved it back a little it started thriving. 😊

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  2 года назад

      Aww! The only other thing I can think it could be is the type of potting medium 🤷🏻‍♀️. Depending on watering habits, more retaining? More drainage? Maybe look into that? I hope your plant thrives!

    My string oh hearts roots are rotting. 😢 i need help... How do i save them?

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  3 года назад +1

      Oh no! I don't know how far the rotting has gotten. If it's just starting, try cutting off the rotting parts and maybe repot into a more draining mixture and let it dry between watering. If it's on the verge of death, you may want to chop up what you have left and propagate and start over. Leave in a bright spot to help it dry out faster 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Can you please tell how to do with this plant as soon as getting it from online delivery...

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey  3 года назад +1

      I would check the leaves to see if it needs water, if they're soft and flexible, give it a drink. If they're plump, hold off on watering. Keep it separate from your other plants for a week or so and give it a warm bright spot. Keep an eye for any changes.
      🤷🏻‍♀️😊
