My goodness, you are full of great information! I love your tip for misting the top inch! I keep over or under watering my strings and have killed a few. All very great, helpful info. Also, didn't know that about keeping light on the top of the pot to prevent the baldness. Thank you so much!!

@@cindyhawkins7293 You don't have to do much of anything. String of pearls is pretty low mantinence. Just make sure to top of the plant is getting plenty of light. Typically succulents like a bit less water when in bloom. With strings of pearls in general it doesn't require a lot of watering. I just give all of mine a good soaking about every 1.5 to 2 weeks....or when the little pearls look thirsty. Less is more when it comes to string of pearls.

So helpful! So just to make sure that I understand, you want to water the entire plant, but in-between big waterings while waiting for the bottom half of the pot to dry, you can lightly water the top inch or so. Then when the bottom half is dry, do a big water again?
This might explain why I've never been able to keep a string of pearls alive and why I just killed my string of dolphins. My string of turtles is thriving though.
    Thanks for the tips!

Tbh I think it might be from the fertilizers and extra things she’s been putting in the water.
My string of pearls is NOT that big/long. I got it in a nursery pot this year. I’ve had it for about 8 months and it’s not nearly as big as hers.
She got hers the same size as I did and she’s had it for 9 months and it looks HUGE.
I realize I don’t water with foliage pro (even though I have it) and now I’m thinking that’s what’s speeding up the growth. 😊

How do I save my fishhook plant? Noticed the strings looks dehydrated but top soil seems wet enough...then took it out if the planter and noticed a bunch of hooks had died...and many were on their way out. And it suddenly needed water. So, I watered it and placed it outside for a day...just in case it was not getting enough light on my west facing desk...where the pot was about a foot way from the window. It was so healthy when I got it...not that long ago. Really want to save it.

OK! Please tell me how many varieties of String of Heart there are. Also where is the best place to get them(healthy, not expensive) I have one that keeps changing from not variegated to variegated, and I wonder if they all tend to be unstable like that. My string of hearts keeps dying on me 🙈
I have tried only watering the top when the soil is dry, and i have tried letting it dry out and only water the plant when the top leafs gets a bit soft and it still dies (but not the whole plant as before) the wines just shrinks at the base and dies off every time and it can happen in just a day where it looked fine a day earlier, do you have an idea of what i am doing wrong 🙈

Me too, I don't know why all my new growths are so tiny. I did cut all the flowers that were insignificant, so they don't take all the energy of the plant. Maybe they need a fertilizer? But it's fall now, not a good season to fertilize plants...
