    Hi Grace. I'm a Planterina fan too. Great video. I just got a string of pearls...still very small as they were propagated. I've been trying to find the right soil for it. You said a Cactus mix is good? I was advised to watch out for a mix with peat moss or anything peat as it holds back water and won't allow drainage.

    • @MyFellowFoliage
      @MyFellowFoliage  3 года назад +1

      Hi Klassy, so sorry for the delayed response. I just saw your comment! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment. Definitely use a cactus mix or regular potting mix with a good amount of perlite. Watch out for peaty mixes for sure because it holds onto moisture like you said and succulents don't like it very much

    • @MyFellowFoliage

I don't want to kill it! would bonsai jack gritty mix be a good soil for this plant, and should I try to remove the potting soil around the already established roots, or leave that part? i'm frozen in fear of killing this cute lil plant!

    • @MyFellowFoliage

      Hi Lauren, I feel you! I've killed so many of them in the past I understand how scary it is. I think you can grow these in gritty mixes, I've seen some people have success. If you're going to move it, definitely remove all the soil before transplanting into the gritty mix! I say if you think it's not liking it's current environment definitely take action!
