CHILL MUSIC PLANT WITH ME | Planting propagations to LoFi music
HELLO!
I apologize for the infrequent uploads. I'm in the last month of pregnancy and it's getting more difficult to find time to film content. I'd thought I give something a little different a try. Introducing a new series of videos called "Plant with me". A series of videos for you to put on while doing your plant chores.
Please let me know if you would like more videos like this in the future. I really wanted something chill that we can plant together with.
Put this video on, grab some dirt and a pot, and let's plant!

    I love my violets but have not seen anyone talking about an issue on one of mine. Maybe it’s this species, but when it blooms, the flowers are pretty small and very close together so to me they don’t look healthy. This is mainly happening to one of my violets and not all. Any ideas?

    This plant is NOT toxic to dogs, cats, and horses according to the ASPCA. However, my cat just keeps eating it and one time she vomitted (probably because she had empty stomach and ate alot of it). It is very hard for me to display this plant in a place I can see it without putting it in a greenhouse or cover it in a glass type thing.

    I inherited my love of African Violets from my mom. She would look for tha plants that were sold at a discount because they were no longer blooming. Finding out what color they were, was always a surprise. I started doing the same and wicked them. At one point i had over 100 of them. Then i was gifted a plant that was infected with tiny black flies. In about a month, all of my plants died. I'm starting over with four non blooming plants i paid $2-3 for them. One has light mauve blooms. The verdict is still out on the other three although they are all sending up buds. I thought that the one with the lightest colored leaves would be white. But, i think it may have a purple edge. Because as the first bud is opening, i see purple.

    I picked up a mini silver crumpled peperomia at Trader Joes recently. It's in a tiny pot with a string attached and it sits in another slightly bigger pot. Instructions say to keep the outside pot filled with water. The funny thing is, there was no description of what kind of plant it was, and it took lots of research to finally identify it. After watching your video I see that I'm going to have to repot it and water it like my pilea plant, which is thriving! I'm loving peperomias. They have gorgeous foliage and seem to be easy to care for. I do wish that sellers would identify the plants they sell so you can research how to care for them properly.

    • @plantposey
      @plantposey Год назад

      @maureenoconnor6413 it would depend on how often you water it, climate...and a few other things. You may want to ensure it's getting nutrients as well. Some worm castings make a really nice nutrient boost that's safe and gentle. My guess is a water flow issue. But hard to be sure without seeing all of the environmental factors 😔

      Thank you! I appreciate that. I don't know that I can give you an exact answer on when to remove the mother leaf, but the wonderful thing about plants is that they either will show you, or just do their thing themselves. Once the plant looks independent, I'm sure it will be safe to remove it. Or it may even shed it on its own. I think the mother leaf will show some visual decline. But it may be safe to remove sooner when roots are established.

      Personally, I cut them because I don't want them to hover over the soil medium and potentially rot. But that is a personal preference. After that, I'd check for drainage and humidity levels too
