@Fishheadmandible I miss how they used to smell! The pink gel was the standard hold and the yellow was the strongest one. I used the green which had the lightest hold just to get my hair in place, then I would hit it with Aqua Net lol.
This is probably the best stocked BMX specific shop I've ever seen. It's funny that Phu keeps saying that he doesn't know everything when it's obvious he knows his stuff. The name of the shop speaks for itself. Need to pay a visit to check it out myself.
Alfredo Mancuso The BMX Videos you do are brilliant 😎 I have been watching for a while now 😉 But you Alfredo are the man for BMX 🤙🏻 Luke from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪
I'm not going to lie. I assumed most of my performance was based on my athleticism, but knowing about the parts I'm buying really helps with the type of riding I want to accomplish. Also want to add, I been around for a minute watching bmx videos since 2014. So, thank you for your content.
I just started watching these videos but I can tell right away Phu loves his audience, has fun making the videos and uses simple termanlogy…err termitonally,,,,WORDS, he uses simple words to describe it to us without all the specs. Love it.
Hey im 37 years old a dad. I played bmx when I was way younger but now after watching most of your video make me wanna take my Haro forum 2008 from the garage now coz my whole body is itching. And Epic Bmx u guys are the best!
Alfredo, Phu, Ethan and the rest of the staff, I love your content. I could watch you guys rant on all day. You are very knowledgeable. I am 36 yo and just getting into bmx. I am to scared to do any of the tricks, but I love to ride my bike around town. I have a FitBike Series One complete that I have been modifying(last bike in my local shop). So these videos help me to pick out the correct parts for the right reason other than just aesthetics. Thanks for all you do.
Great explanation, Phu needs a channel of his own... just doing tech, I dont ride BMX but street trials, we ride 24" 26" rim wheels and by far the strongest is the three cross pattern
Question: when would you want left hand drive setup? Eg. I grind right side, spin left and ride right foot forward. So what takes priority, my foot forward or protecting my sprocket/chain? Does riding a LHD as a right foot forward effect you that much even?
Phu, what size frame would you recommend for someone 6'1" 175 lbs? Everyone says 21" TT but I would like to hear what your recommendation is. If you could include all the measurements, stand over, BB hight, TT length, chain stay length. etc.... Thanks! Going to ride park and street some dirt. A little more stable than twitchy.
@@AlfredoMancuso Not sure if you remember but I sent you some pics of my Chrome Standard Lengthy on twitter. That was the bike I had the knee savers on.
I’m a street guy I run 15mm forks, saving up for that cult 2 short frame with the steeper headtube and short back end, good vid man I learnt to build my own wheels from your how to just the other week ❤️
good to know. i always figured a shorter stem could be better for barspins but never heard anyone mention it. im 5'4" and ride a 20.5 frame no idea of the other specs lol
Do you think a sleeper frame w a 33mm pitchfork would be a good all around bike? I ride a cult crew now but I’m looking for more stand over and the 5” head tube. I ride park street, bowls and a little pump track.
Man I love a twitchy bike. I have a fit shortcut frame. It’s 20.5tt with a 12.4 rear end. 165 cranks, odyssey r15s, a top load stem with 45mm of reach. I love a nice compact bike that’s super twitchy and responsive
I also heard that you can also cut the steer tube down to the length that you need it or debate if you need it that height for your handle bars and tricks.
My dudes I have just got black 2 gen ramp room love handles 🤯❤️👍🏻 there patina is exactly the same as my black 03 pro team condor, it’s 43 lbs , some day I have to get it down to y’all for the 40 lbs bike check 😊
I'm watching from Hungary - kinda far :) but I love you guys. You make such a great videos - learn a lot from these. Love Phu Vu how-to / I-tell-you-guys :D videos. I'm gonna buy my first bike - don't know what kind of, what size, what type....you guys give us a lot with these videos. Thanks.
I was worried a 20.75 top tube was too big for me. I'm 5'8. I enjoyed the video and hearing the explanation behind things instead of just a simple answer because I don't always understand things when they're put simply. I have to hear a why or how also.
Love your vids really help out a lot and also can you do a video comparing Cult bikes and Premium bikes what's your opinion on them what are the differences and all that please
Condor for skate park, dirt bros patriot for dirt jumps and trials , also got a mint ek wembley #100 on the way , plus same bro is selling me a ek1/ep prototype 🤯I hope that the ek1 prototype is the real deal 🤔or I’ll make an early ep with the bent seat stays and a standing prat from so sweet , I just love old Hoffman bikes ❤
BMX geometry for me is personal preference. You maybe not that tall but you will prefer a 21" top tube or maybe you're tall but you prefer 20.5 and it's the same on all the parts that you'll get. For me you need to try them all.
Hi, Great channel. I´m 5,6 (169 cm) and Looking for frame for snappy street tricks. Price not that important, more important to stat with the right base for the build. Any suggestions?
Sunday Street Sweeper in 20.5 tope tube for a 12.70-13 back end, or if you want a quarter inch longer back end, you can get the Nightshift, Sunday is a great company and those are two of their shorter back end bikes I can think of
I'd like to see a Phu video on pricepoint brands and which ones are good. For instance, Rant seems to be good quality for the price and Mission is garbage from my experience.
Phu is the kind of teacher that you would actually look forward going to class to, that minute per video thing he mentioned is true to a certain point, if the host is boring then yeah sure, I'm not trying to kiss any ass but Phu has thay energy that keeps you focused and intrigued to what he's saying, I could literally watch a 30+ minute video, Phu if you reading this, you dope af
This stuff is true guys pay attention I made a mistake with buying a really short back end at 12.4 and I wasn't good at all for even airing a pyramid at the skatpark
I understand the longer the stem is, you have to compensate for the length of the bars so for that you have to cut them. But as far as the gooseneck mine never moved and bottom piece some look different in case you ever seen the one that looks like a L shape.
Just to add to what pho was saying in a new episode about crushing the steer tube. My stem would come loose to the point I got tired of it and I put lock tight on the stem to keep it from moving.
Hey Phu, if u have a long offset fork on a short reach stem, how does that compare handling wise, to a short fork with long reach stem? Does the stem reach affect handling like fork offset does?
EPIC shirts please!
AlfredoMancuso.com
I don’t have the sizing chart, but the epic shorts do run a little larger and are more rectangular than boxie
If you're wondering what his shirt design is inspired by, search "Dep Gel 80's." Dep Gel was a real popular hair gel from the 80's.
@Fishheadmandible I miss how they used to smell! The pink gel was the standard hold and the yellow was the strongest one. I used the green which had the lightest hold just to get my hair in place, then I would hit it with Aqua Net lol.
@Fishheadmandible same here it's nice being a 90s kid
im 58 and back into BMX. learning about new stems and head sets. glad i found this channel. peace
Welcome to the family 💜

It’s simply amazing. I always feel like a kid in a toy store :)
Love watching Phu in the shop. The real deal :D . Can we get Phu to do a trick a week outside the shop? I really want to see him ride.

That Imitation of a goose was the best part
I was tempted to make that a slow mo effect haha
Alfredo Mancuso hey bro I feel like I’ve learned a lot from your channel. You are da man.
The goose neck mimic is the reason I've been watching the Phu vids like a mf lately. Lol dude is a fucin character
I personally like the long vlogs 🙏✝️💯🇺🇸❤️ Go Phu !!
Yes my favorite part again. Always learning
Epic shop vids with Phu are some of my fav! Wish we had a shop like that nearby, they’d have to kick me out lol.
Yeah they'd hate me, I'd be straight loitering.

I love these type of videos. I watch every single one.
I used to have those Hoffman bars back in the mid 90's. They were advertised as Haro Knee Savers and it did come in handy when riding street.
Wow that’s some knowledge right there!

Is that a prince albert crank arm mounted to the cabinet at 9:43? That's like a $300 crank arm by itself if it is lol
For a 26in big bike would you recommend 165 cranks to get that snappy feel or what to you think works best at that size
