    I always get a good, relaxed feeling watching your videos. Thanks for making these... they have a certain ASMR quality to them, while always teaching something useful. I also love that you are not selling anything or promoting any business, and your videos are not sponsored. Just good, simple living in the beauty of nature. Thank you for sharing, and peace to you from Alaska.

    Looking good my friend. I appreciate the simple, old school approach, similar to what my mentor (and Albertan) Mors K used to do. The bushcraft/survival world has unfortunately but predictably fallen into a gear-heavy mode, that often emphasizes the ego of the presenter. I appreciate your homespun, skill based approach, which also seems to highlight the real star of the show: Nature. Keep it up! Warm regards from Montana, 🇺🇸

    • @WHJeffB
      @WHJeffB 2 года назад +8

      I agree... Too many guys on RUclips that are packing in $2000-$3000 worth of gear and calling it "bushcraft" now days... I love the videos of the guys that bring in a heavy power supply, LED string lights, a several hundred dollar collapsible titanium or stainless steel stove, etc... I think one guy rode an ATV most of the way, then pulled a small sled with all his gear a few hundred yards further and setup camp. Just go one step further and use a damn camper...
      Really enjoy Kusk Bushcraft videos... Camping as it should be.

    • @KuskBushcraft
      @KuskBushcraft  2 года назад +18

      I agree. It's sad that the term bushcraft is used for marketing and as a social media term for clicks and likes. I truly believe packing light and relying on wilderness skills for comfort makes the outdoors experience a whole lot better. The worst camping/bushcraft trips I've experienced were ones where I was burdened down with a heavy pack and too much gear. A light pack is happy camping.
      Thanks for watching and for your kind words. God bless and happy trails!

    I can't even tell you how much I loved watching that and needed that experience by proxy. We had a car accident today that was minor but hit and run, having to drive the hubby to a side job and sit and wait in the car and entertain our 4 year old little dude with 2 very simple books, a matchbox car and an ancient McDonalds happy meal toy for 1.5 hours. Then to come back to the house that never got cleaned because of the emergency to make food for everyone else so hubby could get to the tire place before they closed, and put a grocery list together as I finally made food for myself and then figure out how to make the cable work so he can watch the Lions game. This was the perfect relaxing time I needed for my introverted self to sit in a dark room with candles lit and pretend I'm out there.

Your videos are great, not a gearshop advertisement, not too much talking (or no talking at all!), good views, good sound. OMG I feel so relaxed now! Awesome! What is the bread recipe? And what kind of knife you use? Thank you!!!!!

    • @KuskBushcraft
      @KuskBushcraft  2 года назад +1

      The bread (or bannock) recipe is as follows:
      1 cup flour
      1/2 tbsp baking powder
      1 tsp salt
      ~1/2 cup water
      Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly. Slowly add the water while mixing until a thick dough forms.
      Cooking can be done as seen in the video by wrapping around a non-toxic stick and baking over the fire. It can also be pan fried in a little butter over a low heat. Easy to pack (pre-mix the dry ingredients at home so at camp all you have to do is add water), easy to cook, and it's very tasty.
      The knife is a Helle Sigmund.
      Hope this helps. God bless and happy trails!
