I know you had that chimney flap held as far open as possible, but, is there anything else you could've used just in case somehow, the stove pipe got too hot & Scorched something?

Even though I'm 71 and am pleased to live in a caravan in beautiful Devon countryside, your videos make me yearn to dig out my old lavvu and camp again in the hills and on the coast, as I have enjoyed in the past. On my end, some of the Northern lights came through!
It must've been intense in certain places where some of the power line transformers blew!
It was too cloudy where I was to see anything which saddens me.
Every time something cool like a meteor shower or whatever is supposed to happen, leave it to the sky to get really overcast & stay that way!

A full size Lavvu is nice and with homemade stove, perfection. Changing of the seasons really showing there, that setup will be welcome. Still in the 80/90's here in New Mexico, USA, no surprise. Scandinavia has an abundance of Pike it seems, nice fillets. Great video, well done. Filming is first rate as always, thanks for the work. See ya next time.

A wonderful adventure is the rain, one of my favorite things! That is why I live in the Redwood Rainforest. Your anticipation of the rain as you stood in the sun and cooked the fish was brilliant. Great video yet again. I was very interested in the length of your chimney/flue pipe. I have been thinking about cutting mine down so that it's less effected by wind. Have you noticed any down sides? I was worried that there may be more ember's that might burn my tent or that the stove wouldn't draw properly. I trust your opinion and would greatly appreciate your views.

There is a certain length the pipe has to have to draw properly. I used a pipe in sections before on this stove and tried out exactly what is the minimum length, and that is what I use now. There is mathematics on this but I would always try it out in my yard before camping anyway. I actually got more holes in my tents with a spark arrester than without one. The random sparks that do get through the arrester grid loose speed and fall straight down. Without the arrester the sparks get more velocity and fly off into the terrain. So im thinking about stop using them. Thanks!

Hello, my friend out in the green again solong it is green. A nice fish you got there where are the big Swedish Picks 20 and 30 pounds I hope you got some for your family some fish I mean. You hat in the beginning 3 tarps if I saw it ride. Did you hat one from east Germany from the NVA then they are very good and you can put them with others together. I was in the Airfors my self , and in the best time 1988 to 1990 wenn the biggest trouble was on the way. I was wondering if you can play next time a few songs on your guitar please , I love the old viking songs or the songs what is written over the vikings unbelievable. I have been a subscriber for a long time and you have even made my daughter’s forks. I rarely comment, no need to really, but one question have always want to ask you is: as you cook so often in your kettle, does it not taint the taste of your coffee? Keep the content coming as my family and I enjoy it so much.
Hey Ed. When using like noodles and pasta I have not noticed any flavour being transfered to coffee. Maybe rice and potatoes give more taste I think. Coffee in itself, that is highly acidic I think is very good at masking any basic flavours. Tea would maybe be more sensitive. Even if the starch from pasta for example would alter the taste in coffee I doubt it would be such a big deal when it comes to the taste, and also wilderness life tend to make you very forgiving. At home I am a coffee Ge**apo for sure! Give my best wishes to H and P. Take care!

Прикольная печурка , ее чуть усовершенствовать - сделать комфорку и на трубу заслонку + типа колпака чтоб дождь не заливал и не большое кольцо асбестовое . А чего говорить надо будет сделать !!! Замена щепоцнице. Есть в конструктиве изъяны , но мы справимся , главное идея !!! Убежал прорабатывать чертеж.

Really, was it necessary to kill the smallest baby pike in the lake for macho "survival fish soup" 😶 i wonder why the swedish lakes are getting "fished out".
Its the large predators you need to protect if you care about the ecosystem. I let the 2 small ones back in the water. The bigger one was perfect size for eating for one person.

That is cast iron. Way to heavy for hiking etc, and the handle is not practical for cooking over open fire IMO
