Only just found your videos. I already hooked. You've taken me back to a happier time 30 years ago in the early 90s, when myself and a dozen friends would build a series of bivouacs in our local woods. We'd spend weeks of our school summer holidays sleeping in the woods.. only returning home to stock up on tea and tinned foods for the fire. I'd love to go back out and attempt what you do, but I now have a young family I need to take care of. In the UK we get bad winters of around -15c from time to time, but never anything on a scale Canada experiences. Your adventures have brought it all back again. When I tell my eldest daughter what we used to do, she thinks we're all mad, but to us it was just the normal. Keep making your videos. I'm loving watching them. Thank you. Scott. Halifax, West Yorkshire. England.
I've been watching your videos oldest to newest. It is refreshing to see that you rely more on natural materials in your camping trips. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
Bushcraft and bush survival is becoming a lost art. Learning how to survive in the middle of nowhere can be beneficial in the current state of the world. Enjoying the peacefulness of the wilderness, the roar of the campfire, the rush of a stream is something many can't comprehend.
nice to see you still teaching the old ways to make fire, not many out there in 2023...good job Kusk....my wife gives 2 thumbs up on growing that beard back, lol...coffee by the fire "MORS would be proud"
Your Videos send out such calm. You are humble and content with so little, thats really inspiring. What sets you apart from other Outdoors: You dont need high-end, you dont produce yourself, you get by with what nature offers you or doesnt. That is the real skill. Thats why you have my sub. Even if your channel is very successful and wil continue to grow, stay as humble as you are. Cause many will want to make money with you. And that would ruin your message. I also like your silent videos. Thanks for your great work! Greetings from Germany.
The minimalist shelter here is so awesome! A branch and a few stakes to keep it down makes it so simple and efficient. Love how good that looks and light weight it can be.
I always shiver when I see you putting up a one layer open tent. Being 65 doesn’t help. I like your trapping series. You can truely live off the lang good job setting up camp.
your voice is the perfect volume for late night watching. the traps are amazing. and the bough bed seems like it was such a gem. hope its engraved in your memory forever.
Having just found your videos yesterday, I find myself watching all that I can. They are all great. I have cooked breads like that when i was young and called it simply twisted bread. I will try it this weekend again. Thanks for taking us along. Stay safe, God bless you and keep you.
Loved the video. I do love the quiet ones too, and this may be weird from one guy to another, but your voice is soothing as well so even talking videos are quite relaxing.
Man, I was literally just gonna write this same thing but noticed that someone already said it :D Even me as a man, think he has a very calming voice for some reason.
This is my favorite Chanel, where every video inspires me to do outdoor activities. And want to know what ingredients to make the dish so that it is smooth and sticky, thank you.
1 cup flour 1/2 tbsp baking powder 1 tsp salt Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly then slowly add cold water while mixing until a thick dough is formed. Cooking slowly with low heat is how I prefer to cook mine. Thanks for watching!
Just stumbled upon your channel by accident and I love your style. Looking forward to catching up on your earlier videos. I’m in England and we simply don’t get the conditions such as yours, so it’s always a pleasure to view adventures such as these. I’m a big fan of Lost Lakes and the Xander who I believe are from your neck of the woods. I don’t know if you watch any of the UK guys, but Simon a Bloke in the Woods and Kent Survival are great channels. Anyway, you’ve got yourself another subscriber. Looking forward to your next adventure. Keep up the good work sir.
Homie froma across the pond, If you want a legit experience, save up monies, get a passport, and go to Alaska, be warned though... you might not wanna go back home. Alaska is so damn beautiful, BUT it is still very wild. Further North you go, more desolate it becomes. Do the research before going there.
Yep....very relaxing...mellowed me right out for a good night's sleep....looking forward to this season's videos as there is aways something good to learn.👍
Your winter videos are awesome, I hope you get a chance to make more of them. And please stay true to yourself, your style is really pleasant to watch so far. I really like it when the talking is minimal or none at all, and any information is shown as text.
Hey man really enjoy the simple trips like yours. It’s so funny as I am much older than you but you bring me back to a time in life that my little brother pretty much stayed in the woods and made tents out of palmettos lean to and what not. We didn’t know we were Busch crafting then but it was so simple just as you are doing. Please continue these type of trips and as always safe travels man
I served with this guy in Korengal. He was ruthless at just laying down the hate against any Muj that tried one on us. No holds barred, take no fuckin prisoners kinda guy. Proud to serve with him - good to see you fighting the good fight. Keep it up
Many thanks for the beautiful relaxing video. You are one of my favorite authors. I like the amazing simplicity, which is not at all taken for granted in this world. Your calm and meditativeness is an inspiration to me. Big thanks.
To be honest, I come to watch your videos to see a native speaker describe what he is doing outside. It really helps to build up my vocabulary. Please keep making videos giving a guidance on what you are doing.
id love to watch that video since 2 days.. im wainting for my brother on friday to come to me. then we watch together. only watched your backpack video and it was so good that i didnt sent to no one..
Not many people want to watch the entire process. I edit it to save some time. People criticize me for it and/or claim I'm a fraud but I don't really care. I have nothing to prove.
Wow! The quality of your narration is so much better than what it once was. I did once call your narrative monotonous, mostly because you sounded so calm as it was dubbed in. It's so much better when you narrate as you go! And, if someone does not want a narrative, turn down the volume. Thanks!!!
My favourite conifer tea is made from Douglas Fir trees. They give off a nice citrus taste. White spruce makes a nice tea as well, but Fir remains my favourite. Thanks for watching!
Bro this video is the best one on your channel literally the silence of forest sometimes with your calm voice were good but after you didn't had anything to get fire going just nature around you and had only some wool blankets that you made you bag of and then just started catching squirrels, that is insanely good you had a bit long break but the quality of the video now is so good keep this good content !! Thank you for the content! By the way what is the receipt for the bannock or how do you call it? it look really tasty so I would like to try to do it
Thank you for your kind words! The recipe for the bannock is as follows: 1 cup flour 1/2 tbsp baking powder 1 tsp salt Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly. Slowly add cold water while mixing until a thick, dry dough forms. From there the dough can be pan fried over a medium-low heat, it can be baked, or if can be wrapped around a stick as shown in this video. Hope this helps! Happy trails.

That's crazy I do the same thing. Idk y I really enjoy falling asleep to camping videos. 🏕
