      Yes, you are able to deactivate the lid lock on the GE GTW465ASNWW washing machine. To do this, follow these steps: 1.
      Press the "Power" button to turn off the washing machine. 2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet. 3. Wait for at least 4 minutes for the lid lock to reset. 4.
      Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet. 5. Press the "Power" button to turn on the washing machine. 6. The lid lock should now be deactivated, and you can open the lid while the wash cycle is in progress.

      This is false. Newer washer actually look for a certain resistance across the load.

    Do you think cuting out a gap from the bottom of the strike so that it could be secured to the lid but always able to allow the lid to be opened. This way the spin would also stop just like the older machines when the lid is opened. I have no idea how the latch lock communicates with the computer control, but maybe just creating a gap wide enough to create enough of a void to clear the locking pin might be a solution to this aggravating issue.

      You can take a cylindrical magnet and rest it at a diagonal angle with the left end of the magnet in the corner of the switch and the right end of the magnet on top of the switch's right side. That way it should not fall into the washer.

      @@Joethaboss66 Thanks so much! Could you explain this more or show a diagram?
      the little piece that locks the lid broke here and I can't run a cycle. It's another week until the part gets in to fix it.
      I would love to do laundry in the meantime. THANK YOU!

      @@framebyframegames There's another video if you switch bypass where he shows how to take apart the switch so it's no longer spring-loaded. He just takes out the springs and pushes it in manually so it stays in the lock position or closed at least

    But the lid doesn't close all the way.

    Not getting it. Take part off drop it in the hole. Lowering the lid does that… what’s the dif?

      The difference is you can lift the lid up and watch what's going on inside

    does it lock the door?

    • @Joethaboss66
      @Joethaboss66  Год назад +2

      Yes, it does still, but since the switch is taken out of the lid, the lid can be up with the magnet in the switch so the washer thinks the lid is down.
