This way the spin would also stop just like the older machines when the lid is opened. I have no idea how the latch lock communicates with the computer control, but maybe just creating a gap wide enough to create enough of a void to clear the locking pin might be a solution to this aggravating issue.

You can take a cylindrical magnet and rest it at a diagonal angle with the left end of the magnet in the corner of the switch and the right end of the magnet on top of the switch's right side. That way it should not fall into the washer.

@@framebyframegames There's another video if you switch bypass where he shows how to take apart the switch so it's no longer spring-loaded. He just takes out the springs and pushes it in manually so it stays in the lock position or closed at least
Yes, it does still, but since the switch is taken out of the lid, the lid can be up with the magnet in the switch so the washer thinks the lid is down.
