I love the fact that Mario’s jump now looks almost exactly like it does on all the art. So much attention to detail. And I can’t believe the overhaul on RPG. A lot to look forward to in the coming year.
@@phosphorus4 Each iteration had something that didn’t match the art you’d find in the booklets in that iconic ‘jump’ pose. Whether it was Mario’s angle (more profile), lack of detail in the limbs, leg/arm placement, etc.., there was something just a bit different. In SMB U Deluxe, the apex of the jump isn’t quite right. It looked fine as-is, but this version stood out to me as getting all the details right. They’ve given his animation a heckuva lot more work in terms of variety n’ such as well. Could be incredibly small changes, but they stood out to me. :)
Thought this was one of the strongest Directs I've seen in a long time, which was completely unexpected. So many new games and quality games being brought back!

What nobody seems to notice is how in Mario bros wonder, it’s seems like there is finally NO timer limit, meaning that I can play level at my own pace, doing a bunch of random shit.

I honestly like the NSMB art style (NSMB2 and NSMBU Deluxe are my favorites), but Wonder gives a fresh slightly-different direction to the 2D Mario series.
Its nice to see a new art style but not in this childish way so I prefer the old art style and mario turn into elephant made it feels like some 2 years old game and it is way out of the traditional 2D mario games I just kind hate it for now as a mario fans

I think something people might over look that’s worth keeping a eye on is Luigi’s mansion. Not the game itself but because it’s a DS/3DS game. I don’t think there’s been many DS/3DS games rereleased because of incorporating the duel screens most of the games were designed with. If this works well it could lead to others from the system getting the same treatment or Nintendo releasing a DS/3DS like add on like they did for GB and GBA.
@MisterVercetti true. I feel like if the focus is farming like stardew, or story of season sure it a farming game. Rune factory or season of death and a couple other, have farming as a side thing, if you want, but the focus is more the story and combat too

The level design for that Penny game actually reminds me quite a bit of Sonic Heroes. I suppose that's the 3D game that the Sonic Mania games would choose to be inspired by (even if unintentionally).

Even though it was spoiled for me I freaked out so much when Mario RPG was announced. It is my favorite game of all time and I've been wanting a remake or direct sequel for years!! I"m excited to finally get a new Peach game as well. I hope Daisy and Rosalina are playable in it. Mario Bros Wonder looks amazing and I am happy Daisy finally gets to be in an adventure. I hope that each character has different abilities to access certain areas to increase replay value.

I wondered what they were going to do after Mario Maker made the old games obsolete, this is better than what I was hoping for! set piece, gimmicky levels with gorgeous graphics. It feels like they are really leaning into the mushroom acid trip aspect of the series, that ending with a elephant Mario punting a goombah was brilliant!
Despite not being a Nintendo/Mario fan, this is 100% the best direct I think they've done. Bringing back retro Mario games with a RESPECTFUL modernization and adding a Peach game+Daisy into a Mario side scroller - awesome.

This is the first direct I can see the “Thanks for watching” screen knowing that Nintendo truly does care about Mario. This direct was full of Mario announcements, lacking 3D Mario. But that is probably because they are going or announce a new console later this year, along with the next 3D Mario. To satisfy Mario fans, they have been filling this year with Mario announcements and now I, and many others, are finally realizing it. Feels good, Nintendo 🎉🎉🎉🎉
