"Nobody wants to play with me!" Fun Fact: The opening scene where Ace tries to save the raccoon is a spoof of the opening scene of Cliffhanger (1993). What Script Fact: When driving to the consulate for the first time, Jim Carrey forgot his lines, so instead started singing the theme from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968). Both actors stayed in character and the director loved it so they kept it in. Moving Forward Fact: Tom Shadyac was asked to return as director after directing the first Ace Ventura movie but he declined as he wanted to move on to different projects and decided instead to direct The Nutty Professor (1996) with Eddie Murphy. He did however re-team with Jim Carrey after the first Ace Ventura movie collaborating on Liar, Liar (1997) and Bruce Almighty (2003). Lost In Translation Fact: The language used by the Wachootoo chief is isiXhosa, an Nguni language spoken in South Africa. IsiXhosa is the native language of Nelson Mandela and Miriam Makeba (a.k.a. Mama Africa). The Xhosa people (amaXhosa) make up the second largest ethnic group in South Africa after their close relatives the Zulus (amaZulu). Nothing about the clothing, houses, or culture of the Wachootoo is based on the Xhosa, and "inkwensu wocha" ("White Devil") is not a Xhosa word or phrase. The word EKWENSU OCHA is from the Igbo people of southeast Nigeria which means WHITE DEVIL as correctly used in the movie, the BAT also means USU and was sporadically used in the course of the movie too. But the general language spoken there is not really Igbo language but has some level of correlation with the native Igbo language of the eastern part of Nigeria.
Another Fun Fact: The guy that Ace had to fight was Tommy Davidson, a man he worked with in his early career on a sketched comedy show called "In Living Color."
I liked this one better than the first. The fight scene always kills me. "Alright! This White Devil thing has gone far enough! Nobody messes with the DOO!!!"
What was going on in the bushes. Well remember the 1st movie when they played that song, he and Melissa were doing something and the animals in his apartment were watching, well there's a clue. 😂

The vehicle is a Land Rover early model, commonly known (later) as a Defender. Not built for comfort.
