Great reaction! You totally got it! Glad you watched this. This is one of those movies I'm not surprised reactors haven't seen. As funny as it is, a lot of people don't even know it exists. It's among my favorite movies. Amazing soundtrack, great cast, super-funny script, beautiful locations, I'm not sure why this wasn't a huge hit.
I grew up in Burlington, VT where some of this movie was shot. It was a whole city event to go down to the waterfront and watch them shoot the scenes. Jim was incredible with every fan!

My thought process was that, Charley Baileygates was a 17 year Rhode Island Police veteran, really good natured guy, who developed advanced delusionary schizophrenia with involuntary narcissistic rage in response to what his wife did to him and 'created' Hank to be the strong one, and needed him to help him 'get over it and move on, and Hank wanted that chin. Similarly, Dudley Do-right was a dim-witted, but conscientious and cheerful Canadian Mountie who is always trying to catch his nemesis, (vis-a-vis Hank and his nemisis Charley), and rescue the damsel-in-distress, who is NOT interested in him (vis-a-vis Irene). But, it they could have been shouting out some random cartoon character.
