Y'all should have watched the Theatrical version. I'd wager it's the better one. Makes the two of them just a tad more likeable. The extra scenes take away from it.
Fun fact: Jeff Daniels only got paid *$50,000* for playing opposite Jim Carrey, who got paid *$7MIL* for the same movie. Daniels was coming off of serious movies, but wanted to get out of type and play in a comedy. Jim Carrey supported him the whole way, championing him with the producers, even though the studio wanted a known comedian instead of Daniels. Jeff Daniels' own manager didn't want him to take the gig, and the negotiated low-ball offer was meant to dissuade him. Jim Carrey, meanwhile, was on his meteoric rise, having just cashed in on other huge movies, and used his clout to make sure he got to work with Daniels, offering emotional support offscreen. The studio was so down on Daniels that his first scenes were done without Carrey, so they could basically audition him and cut him out if the edits didn't look like they'd work. Carrey told Daniels that he nailed it, though, and the studio finally realized it was going to work with the dynamic duo. And thus their lifelong professional respect for each other was born and history was made.
Feels like something that scummy hollywood producers would do, but I'm really glad these two are the duo here, I can't imagine anyone else with Jim Carry. Carry needed an opposite that was 'different' than his humor in this movie imo.
That's the wage gap no one wants to talk about. Both actors did the same job but were paid astronomically different. It's explained by not being equally "wanted".
I'm glad Jim Carrey supported Jeff Daniels because Dumb and Dumber wouldn't be the same without them. But it's not fair that Daniels got paid way less than Jim Carrey.
So many hilarious moments and lines in this movie but one of my all time favourites will always be “ WE GOT NO FOOD, WE GOT NO JOBS! OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!!” 😂
Fun fact, the "most annoying sound" part and "We landed on the moon" were both completely improvised by Jim Carrey. There was probably way more improvised stuff but those are two that I know of for sure.
“A rapier wit” is a phrase, a rapier being a type of sword, so it refers to the ability to deliver witty, cutting remarks. “A rapist’s wit” … something else entirely 😂
Funniest story, Jeff Daniels right after making this movie was wondering how it would hit or would it just be seen as so dumb and unfunny. He shortly thereafter met Clint Eastwood who said he loved the movie because the broken toilet scene actually happened to Clint in real life when he was younger lol. I can’t even imagine Clint Eastwood in that situation. That is such a hilarious thought!
Young Clint Eastwood: I used the toilet, not knowing it doesn't work. Now you are probably wondering, did I poop once or twice? Well I guess the question you really have to ask yourself is, do you feel lucky? Well, do you, punk?
If I recall correctly the "Big Gulps huh?" scene was improvised. Those two were meant to just be extras in the background which is why they kind of just nod and don't say anything after he asks that.
For over 20yrs, this has been my favourite comedy of all time and always makes me laugh. High school was basically my friends and I going back and forth with lines from the movie.
Cam Neely, AKA Sea Bass, was one of the NHL's greatest power forwards of all time. Long time Boston Bruin and now president of the team. Also founded the Cam Neely Foundation which does amazing charity work
The big gulp scene was improvised, the extras were never supposed to be talked to or talk. Jim did all that on the spot, so small but such a great scene
The phrase is supposed to be “Rapier Wit,” equating a quick wit with the sword of the same name. So of course Lloyd Christmas would get it wrong and say rapists wit instead.
Jim Carrey was the first actor to have three films go straight to number one in the same year. In 1994, he was in The Mask, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and of course, Dumb and Dumber.
"The most annoying sound in the world"was ad libbed by Carrey, which makes me laugh my ass off as Joe gets so annoyed that he yells "GUYS! GUYS! GUYS!!!!"
I don't know y'all noticed, that guy that plays Joe Mental, broke character in that deleted scene of ''The Most Annoying Sound Of The World" Part LOL 😄😆😅😂🤣
I certainly never expected to see OctoKrool on Timothee. It's like one of those TV crossover shows with two series joining. Cool! Good choice of film too.
Yeah I was surprised too! I didn’t know they knew each other, haha… It was like we were all joining them for a chill pizza and movie hangout I know they’re all Canadians but I wonder if Chris and Curtis also live in Quebec or if they were just visiting? Looked like they were all at Tim’s place there
In the restaurant, they called the waitress, "Flo." Flo is a character from the 70's sitcom, "Alice" which takes place in Mel's Diner. "Kiss my grits" is a popular (outside of the south) saying that came from that show.
I've seen this movie a million times, but I've never seen the unedited version before. This is the prime example of a movie being really stupid (or dumb haha) but being REALLY funny! There are scenes in this movie that still crack me up. One of the best 90s comedies!
Yeah me too. I can see why they edited it. I like the version I'm used to they didn't lose any funny bits the bits they cut out for the normal version weren't good enough and there were some disgusting things that weren't funny on extended version like when it actually showed the phlegm with seabass & the burger and things like that.
I saw this movie in the theater when I was in high school. The laxative scene I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t breathe. This is probably my favorite comedy movie of all time.

I would love to see more collaborations with TimotheeReacts and OctoKrool.... you all are so genuine and feels like watching movies with friends . Thank you for your channel Tim and I look forward to much more .
I couldn't actually tell if they liked it or not? Sure they laughed at many individual parts, but as a cohesive whole I really don't know what they thought of the movie. Kind of hard to know when they gave no wrap up of their prevailing thoughts on it. Guess they had no prevailing thoughts?
Of all the dumb things that happened in this movie, your faces showed the most genuine shock and disappointment when he said, "The town is back that way." Like you wish so bad in that situation he's actually going to do something smart...then he says that.
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The Mask were released the same year as this, essentially making 1994 the year of Jim Carrey; I've recommended it before, but his performance in Sonic the Hedgehog is worth watching
You have no idea how devastating the sound of a high velocity snowball to Mary's face was in the cinema. I laughed for nearly ten minutes straight! I bought another ticket to watch the movie again because I missed so much. 😂😂😂
I have honestly watched this movie more than ANY other comedy in existence, to the point where my friends and I can recite the whole damn film word for word, LOL. I saw it in theaters back in 1994, and I remember actually getting an upset stomach from laughing so hard at Jeff Daniels’ toilet scene 🤣
@@RedRoseSeptember22 Lol! The best part is that when you watch it for the first time, you don’t expect to actually see Harry full-on drop his pants and underwear, sit down, and let loose. You figure they’ll play it safe and just cut to a shot of the bathroom door, while you just HEAR what’s going on from inside the bathroom. But, nope…they pulled no punches lol
Also in the bathroom scene with sea bass they cut out pretty much all the sexual stuff in the original cut. They edited the scene so it looks like it's just about to get his ass kicked
He meant to say "rapier" (a sharp sword) not rapist wit. That's what makes it funny. I saw this movie in the theater in real time. The whole theater was laughing the entire time.
Sadly, Karen Duffy (who played Shay, the female henchman) had her career cut short when she was diagnosed with a rare form of sarcoidosis. It left her partially paralyzed and she has appeared in very few projects since 1995.
Fun fact: The creators of South Park were asked to write the prequel to Dumb and Dumber. They worked on it for two years but Trey and Matt ended up being too busy with South Park to complete it.
I'm fairly sure the 'rapists wit' line is Lloyd being his usual dumb self and missaying the phrase 'sharp as a Rapiers wit', the definition being 'a sharp intellect, making points so deadly they are like a French rapier sword in fencing duels.' It's not just a 90's rapist joke because the 90's were like that haha.
So funny, i found it hard to breathe at times. Watched this 30 years ago in the cinema, was my favourite comedy then and still is to this day! Seen it over 100 times, still hilarious. Tic Tac Sir?
Funny you should say that, because Bill Faggerbakke, the voice of Patrick voiced Harry in the short-lived Dumb and Dumber TV show. Tom Kenny (SpongeBob) was in the show as well, but not as Lloyd. Matt Frewer was Lloyd.
In case you didn't know, Sea Bass was played by Boston Bruins Legend, Cam Neely. The Farrelly brothers grew up in Rhode Island, so there's usually a lot of New England references in their movies. BTW, my favorite line is..."Pull over"! "No, it's a cardigan, but thanks for noticing".
The best part about this movie is when Jim does the most annoying sound in the world, the guy sitting in the middle was actually getting annoyed lmao Also, the guys outside the minimart at 28:32 weren't even actors, they just happened to be hanging out & Jim Carrey improvised that entire scene LOL
I've never had so much fun watching a video before. You guys were making me laugh so much. It felt like rewatching the movie with a group of friends. It honestly was an amazing experience.

I love this Collab a lot! Chris, Curtis and Tim this was so much fun to watch, made my day so much better thanks guys!! :D And yes Jim Carrey did some lines off script - When Harry and Lloyd are in the car, Lloyd asks if Harry wants to hear the most annoying sound in the world. This was not originally in the script - You can also tell by the look Jeff Daniels gives to Jim) and the "No way... that's great. We've landed on the moon!" was also not scripted :)
You three have such good fun energy together!! What a joy to watch :) *Also in case it wasn't apparent: Lloyd meant to say "rapier wit", meaning intelligence/cleverness/savvy 😂 A highly unfortunate slip of the tongue
I'm close to 40,seen a lot of comedies but this one has stayed #1 for me. Many have come and gone and this one has stayed king. Love seeing people's reactions to this when they haven't seen it.
The annoying sound in the world was definitely improvised. I'm sure much more, too. Look at Jeff Daniels reaction to it the second he does it. He wasn't expecting it.
Why would you not pause it when he walked away!? 26:10 No it does, for a bit. Oh, this is some extended edition, parts I've never seen in this. When she says "hallå allihopa", which is "hello everyone", can't really say that to just two people. XD
Fun fact: the movie that Lloyd is talking about that he learned the diner trick from is Something Wild, one of Jeff Daniels' earlier movies from 1986! I just recently learned this. So I guess they snuck a little Easter egg in there.
36:09 Lloyd meant to say “rapier wit”, which is an old-fashioned idiom that refers to a type of fencing style where you nimbly dance around your opponent
The only shame is that you hadn't watched this sooner. It only gets funnier the longer you sit with it. In a number of several years, you'll be laughing as other people watch it for the first time.
What I love about movies like this is pretending to be an extra in the cast (the hitchhiking Mexican family for example) or a member of the filming crew and wondering how I would get through the scenes without losing it. You burst out in laughter as a viewer, imagine acting in any of the scenes in this movie and trying to hold it together. Love to see the outtakes or deleted scenes. Probably hours of it waiting to be laughed at.
Omg, this is such a legendary classic movie! The BEST part of my childhood! This movie showed me what real comedy is! I love those two guys so much. 😂❤🔥
i wrote Lloyd Christmas on my volleyball and take it to the beach. Whenever i'm looking for my ball i will go around asking for a ball with the name Lloyd Christmas on it lol
I'm so happy that you guys did a collab reaction on such a classic movie as my brothers and I grew up watching this film and it never get's old. There are some scenes in this film on your reaction video that I had never seen before, such as when Harry takes the toilet and dumps the crap out the window, so it was great to get something fresh out of this despite seeing it so many times. I do believe that the "We landed on the moon." line was improved. I remember watching an interview of Jeff Daniels and he said that Clint Eastwood came up to him and said that he had a similar experience on the toilet.

Yup. Since they were extras they were not allowed talking lines so Jim used that for comedic effect.
In all fairness though, that's the actual reaction anyone would have to that question.

Huh, new things ya didnt know
Really cool seeing you collab in person.
Yess happy I got to do this! Hopefully can do more when it’s all good with co v i d
You three have such good fun energy together!! What a joy to watch :)
*Also in case it wasn't apparent: Lloyd meant to say "rapier wit", meaning intelligence/cleverness/savvy 😂 A highly unfortunate slip of the tongue
I was 8 years old and went to see this movie in the theatre with my mom. Has been a favorite ever since.
We went to see it as a family when I was 7 in ‘94 after I got hooked Jim Carrey
octo and tim?!? this is a great anime crossover! you guys couldn't have chosen a better movie. dumb and dumber is an all time classic! 😆
Most people don't know this but the term he butchered is "a rapier wit"
I'm close to 40,seen a lot of comedies but this one has stayed #1 for me. Many have come and gone and this one has stayed king. Love seeing people's reactions to this when they haven't seen it.
The annoying sound in the world was definitely improvised. I'm sure much more, too. Look at Jeff Daniels reaction to it the second he does it. He wasn't expecting it.
"Big Gulps, eh? Welp...see ya later!" was improvised.
My friend, brother and I cut class to see this movie in theaters. We loved it.
That's a fun collaboration too!
Omg I'm so surprised to see octokrool bros with you !!! I'm going down a rabbit hole of timothee collabs 😂
Soo many different people!!
@@TimotheeReacts gonna have so much fun running through them! Have a good day Tim ! 🤗
Why would you not pause it when he walked away!?
26:10 No it does, for a bit.
Oh, this is some extended edition, parts I've never seen in this.
When she says "hallå allihopa", which is "hello everyone", can't really say that to just two people. XD
The absolute best thing about this reaction, was seeing the 3 of you in the same room, having a blast! 🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗
Most excellent
OMG YES! This is one of my all time favorite comedies! Also, dope that you're back with the boys from Octokrool
" I desperately want to make love to a school boy"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Cracks me up EVERY TIME. You need to watch Me, Myself, and Irene.
NO FUCKING WAY! I love that all y’all movie reactors are friends!!! Go ahead my FELLOW KINGS 👑
Fun fact: the movie that Lloyd is talking about that he learned the diner trick from is Something Wild, one of Jeff Daniels' earlier movies from 1986! I just recently learned this. So I guess they snuck a little Easter egg in there.
Saw the thumbnail and thought “no way are these two channels collaborating!” Haha awesome
Ohh yessir! We also did the new matrix movie, if that’s something you wanna see..
I saw this in theaters when it came out with my grandma in 94', I've never heard a theater laugh harder in my life lol
This movie is literally the funniest movie Jim carry is literally so funny he made me laugh so hard 😂🤣
You really need to see Dumb and Dumberer, It's how Harry and Lloyd met in high School!! The actors playing young Lloyd and Harry are SO Good!!
No. Let’s pretend like that never happened
Cool, Octokrool and Tim. Awhile back I suggested this movie to Ockokrool in one of their videos
Fun fact the guy who got salt thrown at is Cam Neely Boston Bruins hockey player
*_"KICK HIS ASS, SEA BASS!"_*
The joke "the town is that way" at the end It's in my top 3 of the funniest things I've heard in my life xDDDDDD
36:09 Lloyd meant to say “rapier wit”, which is an old-fashioned idiom that refers to a type of fencing style where you nimbly dance around your opponent
I love that you guys watched the one with the deleted scenes!
Epic movie from my adolescence, thanks for the memories!
That was his wife in real life
The term Loyd was looking for was, rapier wit.
The only shame is that you hadn't watched this sooner. It only gets funnier the longer you sit with it. In a number of several years, you'll be laughing as other people watch it for the first time.
Didn’t know Octokroll was in the collab. Let’s go
The scenes with the Danbury hotel were filmed at the Stanley Hotel in my town of Estes Park, CO.
Fun that you guys collaborate! I subscribe to both of you.
I always ♥ this movie. Lauren Holly and jim were in a relationship while filming this movie, love their chemistry
Yup and They Were Married For a Year!
That Punch through the phone booth scene was randomly funny for some unknown reason 😄😆😅😂🤣
Dumb & Dumber is an absolute classic !
It's also hilarious that Jim and the main actress became a couple after this movie...
Oh really!
Such a lovely collab, I would like to see more with the 3 of you together :)
I laughed when he said tea and strumpets. Then I looked up what strumpets meant, and laughed until my eyes were filled with water.
