Saw Doyle with Clapton in Boston...got introduced backstage by a mutual friend...I had no idea who he was until I started following him...I'm not a kid...what an incredible talent...shows how screwed up the world is...unless you have a "popular" hit.....95% people don't know your talent...also, btw..a very nice and humble person from my experience...

They're both big faves of mine. Still fascinates me that even on the Thin Lizzy at Rockpalast video Snowy looks like he's popping down to the newsagents to get the morning paper and a pint of milk. Which just shows they are both very cool in their own different ways.

He is definitely a gifted musician, because it's not his proficency alone but something more that makes him unique. There used to be a whole tribute to PF concert on YTwith Mr Doyle but somehow it can't be found any more, any help guys where to find it?
@triunp Oh yes, Snowy White is CLASS. He's been around for decades and should receive the accolades given to Clapton but he's quite an anti-star. . I recall seeing him 1st in the late 1960s. His tone is his signature. An accurate master of true Blues feel.

Doyle's dad was great friends with SRV (Doyle Sr. was once in a band with SRV) and Doyle grew up around SRV in Austin. SRV's famous necklace from El Mocambo. SRV is my favorite and he couldn't read a lick of music either. I have found most of the best musicians didn't know how to read music!
@@johnnycarson8062 Yeah Doyle senior joined Jimmie Vaughan in "The Chessmen" whilst in high school they opened for Hendrix when he toured Dallas in '69. Plus The Vaughans & Bramhalls, lived together for awhile and Stevie Ray played in Doyle seniors band (The Nighcrawlers) whilst Doyle Bramhall II played in Jimmie Vaughans band later. Jimmie & Stevie (in particular) I think pretty much taught him how to play. Stevie Ray also recorded a few Doyle Seniors songs (Dirty Pool, Change It etc.) and co-wrote a few songs (Life By The Drop etc). So yeah a lotta history ;)
