It's so strange hearing almost no crowd reaction to songs like Superman's Dead and One Man Army which was a HUGE hits in Canada (but obviously they were pretty unknown in the States at the time).

These guys headlined Folkfest in Ottawa around three or four years ago, and played with Bush and Live on the same night, same stage. Such a great night!
I've seen these guys play live many times including this Woodstock 99 show. Great band.

Raine during Superman’s Dead was top freaking notch. I mean sounded just like he did on the album & that’s hard to do with his vocal style.

God I love them, I mean their music isn't really for me and I think they should get back to their roots but music like this exists and that gives me hope for good music in the future.
I'm surprised they played so many tracks off Happiness.. (especially in a row) when the album wasnt out yet. While it's cool that fans got to experience the new songs first, it's hard to jam when you dont know any of the songs. 5 straight songs never heard. They should have put in Automatic Flowers, Birdman, Julia and other hits that fans would know and casuals would get hooked on them by. Listening in 2023, it makes no difference but I feel like their setlist could have been much more hype back in July 1999.

Believe it or not they were pretty well known
Pretty sure OLP was fairly successful on the US charts too during their hayday, at least the alternative rock charts. They're a really fun band, and have more mass appeal than other Canadian bands that are kinda niche lyric wise, like the Tragically Hip, who never achieved success in the US.
Still can't believe some of my friends have no idea who they are. Because I'm in Michigan by Canada we had 89X on our radio THANK GOD. We heard so much great Canadian alternative rock!
