Dave Matthews does not age.. 23 years later & all that has changed is some facial hair and some salt and pepper.. the dude sounds exactly the same and plays with the same amount of intensity. truly a specimen.
Edit; the same can certainly be said for Carter.
Carter Beauford's drumming is so layered and complex, amazing talent.
@@jeff7764 Pff, Neil Peart? Are you serious? Gtfo, Neil Peart couldn't groove at all, saying that Neil is more "complex" than Carter is beyond a joke. Rush nerds think that because Neil used to play a big drumming kit he was this "drum god", drumming is about groove, not big kits or virtuoso bullshit.
Ximango lol! So true. Neil was good but wasn’t complex at all. Jeff is a complete fool and lacks the ability to understand intricate music
Jeff Panetta aw, are you gonna be okay?
@@jeff7764 Lol Neil Peart more complex than Carter? You have to be trolling. But I will agree, Carter sounds a lot more complex than it actually is when you break it down. Not sure who the other guy your going on about is.
@@jeff7764 Propagandhi lol, I grew out of that shit when I turned 15
I’d recommend watching from 0:00 - 1:07:01
#41 is the song of my youth. I grew up in post soviet europe and was listening to it when i was a teenager. this song gave so much...
Dostoevsky
I would have never guessed you were European with a name like that
Me to: in Slovakia 1999 and I first time saw #41 Woodstock at the TV … It was changing me life.
God Bless you friend❤️
Damn. 🙏
If I listed all the amazing bands that have intersected my timeline on this planet, I'd be here for months. I was born into Zeppelin, grew up through Van Halen and Iron Maiden, teenaged the Grunge scene, young adulthood into the end of the Dead and the beginning of Phish, to Radiohead and Arcade Fire, Goose and Pretty Lights.... like oh my god, that's just the surface. DMB, Tool, Prefuse 73, Young Thug, Ani DiFranco, Tori Amos, Mars Volta... the list goes on and on and on and on. Thankful for my birthdate, for reals.
You've got the right idea for sure .... Have you ever checked out the folk punk scene? Our music taste pretty much lines up and I still listen to all those you listed but I added a lot of AJJ(Andrew Jackson jihad), Pat the Bunny, Mountain Goats, etc these days I feel like you'd like that stuff alot. Start with people who eat people by AJJ and go from there
Wow I JUST heard this band for the first time ever a few hours ago from another Woodstock 99 vlog and had to hear the whole thing for myself! Great stuff! 🔥
Check out live at central park. Its their best live performance IMO. Enjoy
I been a fan since 1993. Welcome aboard, friend!
Awesome. Love hearing about people just discovering this band. Saw them for the first time in the mid-nineties when I was in high school, been to over 30 shows since. By far my favorite live band
I was there. I was 16 and it was amazing. Even though it was soooooo hot. Good thing I am from Rome, NY (where it was held) so I got to go home at the end of each day and sleep in my own bed!! What an experience!
I still probably would have camped out at least some of the time.. that's part of the experience!
Im so jealous ;)
Smokeweedsmokewusmokecrack
@@liamlowry1151 Hell yeah, burning down structures and looting hos was a big part of the experience as well!
@@liamlowry1151 Apparently the overflowing piss and shit got in some people’s tents so I would either put my tent far away from it or still just go home
I could listen to Daves voice for the rest of my days and still not hear enough
Hey, my love, you came to me like wine comes to this mouth
Grown tired of water all the time
You quench my heart and you quench my mind
Oh how I love DMB….❤
Man this set is so amazing, I had the pleasure of seeing Boyd Tinsley perform a free concert at the Texas Tech concert hall, and Dave and Tim Reynolds at a tiny venue in Lubbock I'm the same year! This music will never get old
Too bad they had to fire Boyd because he was a grooming perv.
What year was this?
DMB is amazing, with great talent in every member... great voice and sounds like the original album.

Six years later and Thank you.
I'm shocked they didn't play Dancing Nancies or Crush or Granny
@M A What about Spoon if they had Alanis and Dave on duet
20:41 Dave's got to be thinking, "I've got the best band in the world." It even looked like he walked around smiling and telling everyone "good job" because that transition was flawless. 👌🤘✊️
Thanks for pointing that out. I love moments like that in live music.
I was there. Second row front and center for 3 songs. It was dangerously hot.
It was funny after the night before, I got myself hydrated and then literally sat in the back where it elevates a little bit to listen to them. I was spent and I knew I needed all my energy for what was to be the trio that will never be forgotten starting it about 6:50 p.m.. I thought he sounded good, I've heard him sound better in concerts, maybe it was because I was far back but it was also because I thought he was just freaking hammered lol even more so than usual hahahah
I was here. I remember being awestruck by the size of the crowd. This was by far the largest daytime set of the festival.
I always loved that Gibson Chet Atkins that he used to play a lot in the 90s. I wanted one so bad. I might be able to find one for a decent price online today.
For all the flack that '99 got, this looked like an INCREDIBLE show. Everybody's set was epic, and a crowd that large would've felt amazing.
I miss Boyd
I doubt that large crowd would have felt amazing while you were getting crushed and dehydrating and experiencing heat exhaustion.
I was there . Man was it hot .
There were some good sets for sure, I certainly wouldn't say everybody's set was epic though, or even particularly good. Lots were absolutely riddled with sound problems and some were just outright bad. Have you seen Wyclef Jean? I sometimes still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about it. As for the crowd feeling amazing, I think I'll pass. Collapsing to heat stroke whilst being chronically dehydrated and surrounded by what can only be categorised as rampant sexual assaults doesn't sound like a good time.
@@Axlsmith1 I never raped anyone nor saw anyone get raped and I had the time of my life there
Love those high notes. Brilliant man.
What a beautiful scene! Such peace and love. Im sure nothing went wrong at this festival at all.
except the fact that every teenage girl there had their cans hangin out
if I had tits I would too@@dandy_daniel
lol. I can't sense the sarcasm through text, however if by chance you're serious, something DID infact go wrong. On day 3 during the Red Hot Chili Peppers set, the crowd was hot and getting thirsty, they were charging $6 for a bottle of water. They rioted the tents and set them on fire. Then RHCP played Fire by Jimi Hendrix. Thee end lol.
lol
This is your #1 song Sharon, was a pleasure to introduce you to DMB ! You're amazing Dave and all the band, making amazing music always !
The real band I came to love
The chorus of Tripping Billies is such a premonition for the death of Woodstock the following day of the festival - the third and final day of the last official Woodstock
WOW, what a set
Such an awesome show !! Look at all the people !!!!! It was a blast !! I love their enthusiasm !! Never disappoint the crowd. !!
I wanna be able to play the violin and own it with a 6pack
It's so good to see you again even it's only on u tube.
What a great live performance they put on.
One of the best jam ever seen in my entire whole life violin saxophone is killing me omg...
I had friends there, love it❤️
This performance of Two Step is eternally great.
When I'm ready to get tuned up this show is a go to
They sounded great here
Just knowing that many parents that are the ages 39-50+ NOW attended this concert and from from Dave Matthews Band alone, there were MANY children conceived during this event!
I'm 45 now and it was amazing, scary and hot as hell!! Lol - went with my now sister in law so no babies and we ended up leaving before the fires, which we watched on pay per view from a hotel near Rome!!!
All praise the drum god, Carter Beauford!
Natural master!
Danny Carey has entered the chat.
Incredibly enjoyable! (Windsor Ontario) What a talented bunch...Thank you!
Crazy how many people will trash on you as soon as you mention dmb , I’m sorry they are talented musicians that make good music end of story.
thanks for the upload man.. all woodstock 99 video. peace!
52:19 this version of All Along The Watchtower has such great memories. Totally rips it.
Some days there is an abundance
and some days there is a lack. 👀
One hour, eight songs. Nuff said.
There must be some way out of here...1969...1999...pre-9/11/2001, and this is an old Bob Dylan track, glorified by Jimi Hendrix, GREAT music ! A comfort in my old age :-)
You make me smile and happy. Love you!!!!!
You guys make awesome music
I wish that just like the 50th anniversary 38-disc box set of Woodstock 69, they would make the whole concert in audio form instead of highlights on that matter.
I just remember thinking "he's baked off his face", but it was a great way to chill and start the day that....well.....got nuts
#41 is such a monster of a song. Even with only Dave and Tim it holds its own. Dave could probably do the thing on the ukulele and it would still be good.
I agree it realy was the LAST GREAT DECADE
So looking forward to the next 3 days of concerts with Dave- for Labor Dave Weekend in the Gorge! Always an epic time.
Just.....INTENSE as hell!!
🎸🎷🎻🥁
I forogt how nutty this was, we couldnt even get NEAR the front, and thank god...what a an experience!
Dave, I love you to the moon and back and infinite number of times!!!
great stuff
Great concert!
I was there. No one got more girls to get topless than DMB
Brennan McKiernan Weren't you claustrophobic in that crowd??
I don't get claustrophobic but during kid rock I managed to get to the very front and the overwhelming sea of humanity was a bit much
Fitting that they played Don’t Drink the Water when the water at this thing was contaminated
I’ve given away all my life but I’ve never given away My heart and soul ❤I lose everything and everything but never gave up on anything 🎉😊
I miss this band
Not the same no more.... Miss the og fans.... Shits ridiculous now
I was there. Amazing event and memories.
This is amazing.
Leroi was the coolest MF on the planet….what a legend!!! 🎷🔥🔥🔥He will forever be missed!!! 😎🙏🏻🎷
1:02:26 Dave mistakes beginning of Ants' second verse but recovers quick! A rare misstep, which makes this cat (and band) so awesome.
Rare misstep?
The dude is known for regularly forgetting his own lyrics or where he is in a song.
Def not rare. It’s pretty common. But he laughs it off or admits it after the song usually. I mean, u play as much as he does it’s bound to happen
I was just watching and caught that, too. Looks like he gives a little smirk. Came to the comments to see if anyone else caught it…well done!
And we ALL forgive him!! Where in the entire world do you find this combo band?
@@TheCentralflorida to be fair, the guy has been onstage more than he hasn't.
Que músicos!!!
"Man, can't nobody make a violin look cool"
"Hold my dumbbells..."
good post!
David I love your voice
On some songs I felt like I was listening to Perl Jam, Nice concert.
13:00 camera crew didn't even notice that bass solo
For shame!
Dave is dressed like the white collar dad who had to throw something on to mow the lawn😆 😆
The art of greatness....all of them
Carter is A Beast behind the kit!!
That crowd is insane
I miss you
Yes they where the best in the 90s
Dave was literally the only one, out of all them, that could "do it"
I'm remembering happy memories thank you
Dave always good. Sick bass solo.
I'm with my Boy Dave..
Playing that beautiful Chet Atkins SST.
American music at its finest
Tripping Billies is so underated. It's a very fun music!
I miss playing drums piano and guitar
I don't know who this band is, I just wanted to watch the whole Woodstock lineup and that all along yhe watch tower cover was 🔥, especially with that Violin he was going in 😂❤
Go listen to Live at Red Rocks it will knock your dick in the dirt it’s so good!
Amazing , they’re all just so talented
You were like my bestest friend
I still love this band more than any other, but these were the days…the original 5.
I miss Boyd SO MUCH… buddy just can’t fill the shoes of Boyd’s violin, with his keyboard. These songs were written for a violin. It makes me so sad.
You can say that again brother. Every time I hear them since LeRoi died it amazes me that the original 5 sounded so huge without electric guitar or the horn section. Just Roi and Boyd, Steph Carter and Dave. Love them forever
You be jamming for sure
boyd is on fire in this one. whoever tuned his strings this concert shudve been a made man
Hardest job in the DMB camp. People don't realize how hard it was to keep Boyd in tune. Violin is just such a finicky delicate instrument and when you shred into it the way Boyd pretty much slices into it the strings start to warp almost immediately. I'm surprised he didn't have a bunch of scars from the strings snapping and hitting his chin and cheek. While I'm sure they definitely did.
Wait how have I never seen this??
People my age are listening to grabass music while I’m over here dootn on my imaginary saxophone
The sound of that Snare!!! That's fill is BRUTAL!! 10:09
everything from 9:50 - 10:15 is just brilliant
Boyd holds so much of the band together....
lmao no he was out of tune for most of the 2000s lol
37:30 was a message for all the concert attendees....
EAT DRINK AND BE MERRY!!!
sheddin' a tear missing Leroi and band is not the same without Boyd
I understand his mind
Leroi!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
the 90's was the LAST GREAT DECADE
I disagree in a way, but in another way, I wholeheartedly agree
It was because cell phones weren’t mainstream yet...
Only half the decade was truly great the other half was mediocre.
True dat
Agreed!
