Bruh Jeremy is hands down one of the reasons I started playing mans inspired me for the past 16 years that and Neil pert these are my idols that guygot crazy credit Jeremy he's the only one who didn't fit the band hahaha to uss nerds who don't belong we still make killer sounds !
This whole album makes me cry. Reminds me of my mom when she was in the hospital of cancer. I always played this in my walk man walking to see her in the hospital everyday. Sadly she passed away. Shortly after. Our lady peace is a band that I hold to my heart dearly. Their music has always been there for me. I can’t wait to see them live again.
I love how every video of them seems to have a "they were underrated" comment. They were one of the biggest bands of the 90's in Canada and were always on the radio and always had the top ranking videos on Much Music and Musique Plus (we didn't have MTV so I have no clue about that).
Thank you. Just because they may not have been old enough to remember it, commenters need to realize these guys were not poor off and very well know. They were on and off the tops of charts for many years.
Oh yes, they only came to the states or southern part of the states only a handful of times. I'm so glad I got to see them a couple of times back when. I also got to meet them - very nice guys!
They have always been my favorite band but yeah they were under rated lol anytime someone asked my my fave band they were like, who? 😂They were popular but only to thier fans, other peeps had no clue unless you bring up Supermans dead then it rang a bell for some.
Raine Maida has the most amazing voice I have ever heard.. just my opinion. It's so different from anyone elses, and the way he sings... theres always that one band that makes you feel something... and this is the one for me
I love how I can read these comments and think they are all from 1998. Raine is so hot! Mike/Jeremy are gods at guitar/drums! Some things never change.
I remember when I was 15 (~2007) my mom pulled me out of my drum lesson because she saw that OLP were doing a free concert at a mall opening in Toronto. We caught the last 3 or 4 songs. One of the stranger occurrences in my life
@@KingGeorge24 I think his voice crapped out :( He could do the falsettos but he couldn't do the fry scream or add any grit to his voice after Gravity.
@@GorcStewI don't think so, he can still do it, he just doesn't want to or can't remember how. I say this because when they played Car Crash in 2011 for the first time in like 15 years he sang it falsetto and all PERFECTLY just like the original if not better
missing those golden times around when still in high school listening straight hard this kind of music. golden decade 90's. proud to had it during my teen years. unlike now, sucks!
Discovered these guys this year under post grunge essentials on Spotify my first song was Superman’s dead and ever since then I’ve been listening to them non stop 🤘🎸
Love songs that have a "hidden darkness", this is one of them. They may not be goth/metal/heavy whatever but have a strange and eerie poetic story going on in the lyrics. Back when I was 13 this came out and all the other kids just saw this song as another "radio hit for house parties" When i tried to tell them the story behind the song they just didn't care. I was the only one who stopped to pay close attention to the lyrics, and just read the CD booklet on its own sometimes, just soaking in the strange and creepy story about mental illness. The pictures of the ventriloquist dummies in the abandoned buildings were also a very nice touch.
I remember watching this video on much music when I was 7 or 8 or somewhere around that age lol, brings back awesome memories, the 90's was truly the last great decade
Got to see them 15th row floor seats at Maple Leaf Gardens! Of all the band's I got to see this was the best show! 1st show seen at MLG was Saga in 83 or 84 Getting old enough to forget the years now!
i don't understand why someone comments i hate this persons voice if you don't like it then why the hell you bothering to listen to it or comment. Ever herd if you don't got anything nice to say don't say anything well more people need to go by that this mans voice is absolutely amazing and so is the rest of the band there songs have actual meanings that touch people. i could seriously sit here all day and listen to Raine sing non stop and i would still love his voice its different and sounds good. maybe there were other bands better in the 90's but there are also alot of great bands now and still coming.
granted the guy is entitled to like or hate whatever he wants but you got a point that if you're gonna comment on a vid just to say you hate the guy's voice and don't expect to be debated on your opinion then that person is wasting their time like you said I always say if I hate something that that's my opinion but I respect anyone who feels differently instead of just saying I hate something and making myself sound like a troll when I do that.when someone comments or gives a differing opinion on something on a video they need to do it responsibly at the least to be fair to everyone else's opinion.
OLP Forever!! Will LOVE You for All Time... Since I heard you singing THE beautiful, Automatic Flowers lyrics, my heart has been hooked - never unwavering for OLP💘 Peace, Love, Positive Vibes & Hugs, Your 4EVR Fan, Deb ✨💖✌️
Mike Turner was my favorite guitarist of the 90's. So good and never overdoes it. The solo in this song is the perfect example. It's short and relatively simple, but it's so rhythmic and hard that you don't even notice that there isn't a backing guitar.
Them Canadian drummers, like Neal Peart. I guess when it's that cold outside that long, you do things like drum to keep your fingers from freezing off (then get really awesome at it)
I KNOW THIS SONG! when i was younger i listened to it all the time. I forgot about this song til i randomly clicked the song! =D i sound stupid but hey, i found the song i love.
I got the CD a week earlier than the release date it was signed by them n used at their record releases party. Speed freak holiday decaffeinated please .l.ol
I fucking love OUR LADY PEACE!! Always have & always will. I have never seen them in concert but God I would jump at the chance at seeing these guy live!! Raine Maida has the sexiest voice i've ever heard. Anyway I am so in love with the singer!!
this song was made after 100% true events happened in 1989 in my life I made a pop- up book of flowers in grade 4 yo put in my papa's casket that year. among other thing that ring true To my life I. this song
Then shouldn't you wish to be born like sometime in the 80s then, since you most likely wouldn't really develop a musical taste until like maybe 10 years of age?
Nobody gives the drummer any credit, that guy knows what he's doing back there, in every song...
Jeremy Taggart really was a big part of their unique sound.
He's a beast for sure 👍
The drum line is the best part of this song for sure, even though I love Raine’s vocals too… Jeremy KILLS IT here, it didn’t need to be that good
Bruh Jeremy is hands down one of the reasons I started playing mans inspired me for the past 16 years that and Neil pert these are my idols that guygot crazy credit Jeremy he's the only one who didn't fit the band hahaha to uss nerds who don't belong we still make killer sounds !
Oh man back in the 90s and early 2000's everyone knew he was the shit
Jeremy Taggart - One of the most underrated drummer of all times, that drum line is pure gold.
Always loved his playing. I agree, he's very underrated.
Have seen him at work and he is awesome! Imagine what he could do with Neil's drum set??😎😀
Soooo good
Yes it's very unique and he was only drumming for 3 years, they're all basic in their playing skills, but the chemistry was just insanely good
@@FrxBass Except you can't call those vocals basic :P
Love it or hate it, Raine has such a beautifully unique voice.
It WAS unique. Watching some of their recent live performances it sounds pretty damaged.
@@justschr Agreed - saw them tonight, and Raine does NOT sound anything like this anymore.
Which pissed me off cause I hated this band for decades while my brother and his friends loved thisband.
His voice is still fire
He used to till his pain in the ass wife got him to change his style because she didn't like it
This whole album makes me cry. Reminds me of my mom when she was in the hospital of cancer. I always played this in my walk man walking to see her in the hospital everyday. Sadly she passed away. Saw them last night in Toronto and they were fucking amazing
Sorry for your loss man.
i cannot think.of a modern day band that makes you feel this
I love how every video of them seems to have a "they were underrated" comment. They were one of the biggest bands of the 90's in Canada and were always on the radio and always had the top ranking videos on Much Music and Musique Plus (we didn't have MTV so I have no clue about that).

and they were still underrated as fuck
nothing on mtv because it was all edited rap trash
They have always been my favorite band but yeah they were under rated lol anytime someone asked my my fave band they were like, who? 😂They were popular but only to thier fans, other peeps had no clue unless you bring up Supermans dead then it rang a bell for some.

same here
Crying shame he's horribly offkey every time he sings.
Ray L he is truly amazing. I love the newer stuff it just shows how much he has grown as and artist/Singer. Love all OLP
same I love Our Lady Peace
OMG his voice is ridiculous.
I love how I can read these comments and think they are all from 1998. Raine is so hot! Mike/Jeremy are gods at guitar/drums! Some things never change.
The fact there's tape on the microphone makes it so much better😂 I love this song❤
Probably the best chorus I've ever heard
Agreed, I thought the same thing!
And I love how they build up to it
Amazing album, front to back... played the shit out of this CD (when there were CDs) ha!
I remember liking this song as a teenager but now that I’m 41 I can really appreciate how awesome this song is - the drums are amazing!
This still rocks after all these years... that's awesome.
dude fuck you
unless, of course I'm mistaking you for someone else.
do you get hate from people thinking your the real Stephen harper?? lol
I remember when I was 15 (~2007) my mom pulled me out of my drum lesson because she saw that OLP were doing a free concert at a mall opening in Toronto. We caught the last 3 or 4 songs. One of the stranger occurrences in my life
Ahah what a cool mom
I miss the Raine yodel so I had to go back listen to the old stuff.
So true. I wish they stuck with it a little longer.

this was one of my favorite songs growing up... 20 years later its still just as good. .
you single? lol
This is in my top 10 of all time ... the song is so brilliant on so many levels.
I was searching for local band called Automatic Flowers and i found this awesome song.
Nik0ff check out more, olp is really good. I suggest Naveed ☺️

Holy shit those drums tho...
I just listened on a decent bassy speaker and it was jungly

best comment. thanks.
Such an amazing voice and absolutely one of the hottest lead singers of all time. OLP was my youth. Love these guys
I remember waiting for hours for this to come on much music and cranking my little tv up in my room. I must of been about 10. I love Our lady peace!
I could listen to Rain Maida sing all day every day!!!!!!!! And sometimes I do!!
One of the best rock songs of the last 30 years! OLP are KINGS!

One of the best guitar-bass-drum combos of ALL TIME. Not gonna make a lotta best of lists, but these guys seriously jam together.
OUR LADY PEACE OF CANADA
Ive have bad experiences at the border with Canadian border patrol but Canada produces great bands
My fav song of theirs for sure. Jeremy is an awesome drummer!!
Jeremy left OLP this year
Even 15 years later, this song is still WAY better than what average teens listen to these days. This is definitely from back when music wasn't crap.
one of the most distinguished voice in the music scene.
14 years later and this album still sounds haunting. Amazing.
24 years later and the album remains haunting and amazing.
Im addicted to the chorus. What an earworm!
Some bands and songs just seem so timeless. I still hear songs from clumsy on the radio here and o forget they are over 20 years old

Easily one of the best bands of the 90s
Always liked the drums in this one; powerful song!
Maxime Legault TAGGART IS UNREAL
Them Canadian drummers, like Neal Peart. I guess when it's that cold outside that long, you do things like drum to keep your fingers from freezing off (then get really awesome at it)
Maxime Legault ..... i like the drums too my daughter wanted to be an alternative band drummer lol awesome but drove us crazy
Jeremy Taggart rocks! He was a former jazz drummer and it shows. They’re always the best drummers!
I been trying to find a drum tab/sheet but I can't find one
Raine looks insane... Love it!
Best band in the world 🌎 ❤️

We should take care of our neighbors. God bless
I have always been amazed at the talent of the guitar player in OLP!! Just too good!!

Jeremy Taggart... super underrated, the guy is a God on the drums.
Check out 'car crash' from the same album his vocals on that are unreal. He's amazing for sure

one of the best songs i ever heard
Sigh. Fave 😌 The 90s, man 💔💯
@fizwal1 I know what you mean. I used the song "Superman's Dead" for a grade 4 music project. Still a phenomenal album.

i fucking love this band!!!!!!
For being live it sounds great, they never sound this great live!
It's not really live, don't know why they put that in the description
Love the way Raine Maida sings this song. I'm trying to find some instrumentals or someone to do a collaboration cover but no luck yet. :(
I'll collab with you if you're still down haha. I just play guitar
This song got me threw my teen years . I was 19 years old when this hit the radio air play
