Lyrics:
Well it's good to know that you'll be okay
I've been waiting for this
and I'll be there to sit
while you pray no one's blaming me
I'm not supposed to wait
when they open up your heart...
Oh I, I have been good
I understood
like a machine they'll fix you from the start
I'm in repair
life that we share
I know that I'll be lost in
but we're always in repair
lock the door, lock the door (x3)
and it's good to know that you'll drive away
from this car crash nightmare
and I'll be there to help you again
there's no danger
we're just killing time again
when they order up new parts
Oh I, I have been good
I understood
like a machine they'll fix you from the start
I'm in repair
the life that we share
I know that I'll be lost in
but we're always in repair
take this time to figure it out
know the wire, the fuse, the things that you doubt
the wheels, the air, the metal, the mouth
something, something, something
Oh I, I have been good
I understood
like a machine they'll fix you from the start
I'm in repair
the life that we share
I know that I'll be lost in
[x2]
but we're always in repair
Lock the door, lock the door [x3]
Looks like the beginning of the song is coming to fruition.
Looks it!
2029 - five years to go!
They are a very educated band. Very underrated for their talent!
You should read Kurzweils new book that came out June 25, 2024. It's the exact same thing he has been saying since spiritual machines. Indeed, this singer was ahead of his time. Must be a smart feller.
I STILL have a crush on Raine Maida after all these years
Probably their most ambitious album. And definitely their last "classic" one. They were such a great, quirky band back in the day.
agreed, after this they went mainstream radio rock.
Their next album was OK, but just a bridge to total sad garbage.
@@arcticmonkey3 they were always pretty mainstream - but I say that as a good thing
@@Louse76 I can put on the next one - Gravity - and I'm instantly transported to 18 years old
not the best album - but since I was pretty heavily into them, the better songs bore a hole in my skull
thanks to "gravity" they got an airplay on the radio in my country, otherwise i wouldn't have heard of them and wouldn't know how good their other albums before gravity were!
I just realized the year 2029 is only 5 years from now. It seemed like the distant future when I first heard this song. Now even my cell phone has integrated AI. We will have to see where this goes.
Lmfao imagine our lady peace predict the world perfectly 😂
So damned relevant - timeless. Anno 2023.
I still find myself coming back to this song from time to time. Love it.
This is probably my favourite album of theirs
The intro can soon be a reality 😳
Its my teenager era
This song speaks miles to anyone that suffers with mental illness. *ALWAYS IN REPAIR*
TheGhjgjgjgjgjg I can relate
yup.
Correct...
Yeah, it hits hard.
They bred us and broke us? Those fighting the machine are all disabled to the system. Yes, we have a disabilty, to not to be reformed in their image.
God I was so young listening to this and I still do today and I'm 35
Hell yeah brother
I am 38 years young
I begged for Clumsy for my birthday when I was eleven years old
🎶🎙️"Automatic flowers won't do"🎙️🎶
Such a classic album!
for me growing up in the mid 90's in Canada; it was eminem my name is, Our Lady Peace In Repair, matthew good band strange days.. that is my childhood..
Amen
journey
but but but you forgot billy talent nothing to lose although that was 2003 not 90s
*fallen leaves
I was in the same situation. Good times for music
Our Lady Peace gives me a state of mind where I can feel myself seriously escaping. I was born in 1995 and I swear It was just the wrong year for me. 16 years old and I feel trapped in a decade at the wrong age. My music all belongs to a time before me. But this the music I grew up to, and my love for it hasn't changed. I need this band. I need this escape. I'm trapped around people I don't even relate to. This band? It's my release. Our Lady Peace. Always.
Love
11 years ago I felt the same way listening to OLP. IT GOT BETTER 😊
why is your user name "78" and you're on a 90's band video? IDK just odd
This song is a masterpiece! OLP in their prime
Jeez, this song gives me such chills. It's message is becoming more and more relevant.
Saw this on MuchMusic when I was like 10 and it gave me my first existential crysis about the imminence of death... That's pretty rock'n'roll. OLP are underrated.
This song triggers memories of an incredibly difficult time. It cuts me to the core. Great song
Exactly the same for me. The images in this along with the song conjure up a lot of difficult moments in my past.
I know what you mean...
I totally get that--my ex broke up with me, and this is one of the songs that helped me get through it, as I realized we didn't have that type of partnership.
I remember getting back from a trip with my friends at the end of high school. I sat in my car balling knowing I hadn't figured out life or my future yet. To be honest I'm now 41 and I've still yet to figure it out.
I saw OLP on tour at a smaller venue about 5 years ago, and they played this song. It was one of the songs that I had hoped they would play the most. Unreal how much harder it hit me while seeing them live, an emotional experience. This will always be one of my favorite songs by them.
My sister gave me an OLP cd when I was 11 or 12. Automatic flowers and Superman's Dead blasted from my room for years. Now in my 30s I find their music is my go to when I am struggling with anxiety or the feelings of being in the grips of change. They bring peace to my chaotic mind.
The other day I took 2g of mushrooms. I was somehow compelled to revisit this album.
I laid there in complete awe at the raw emotion, and the story of every song. The choice of chords and the unconventional way these songs flow.
All I can say is I get it. These guys are fantastic.
this is my favorite our lady peace song
For me, Thief. but I LOVE this aswell
Me too
Same
Time traveller from 2075 and this song is still dope🔥
This song made me re-evaluate the band's entire sound and meaning, and spoke to me deeply during a very dark time in my life. I now absolutely love Our Lady Peace and am finally listening to this full album. Truly an incredible and inspiring track about the road to recovery.
This album/band saved me too. Definitely feel ya
I just spent 2 hours going over OLP's discography. Jezuz these guys were good
Are good still rocking but after Spirtual Machiens they changed. H.I.P.T. in 2005 was the best album post S.M.
@@leegibson3285 clumsy ftw
this takes me back to 2000 to when Muchmusic used to be good
Old comment, but I loved listening to this while playing RPGs. Even modern games like Destiny.
indeed.
lol yep
Before MTV bought them
I have so much respect for this comment
the first time i ever smoked weed and got high, i came home and saw this on much music
and was tripping balls hahah
i will never forget that
such a trippy video, when those cog wheels spin and get bigger i thought they were coming out the tv and i nearly jumped off the couch! xD
CorkySherman It's glorious
Shoutout to the brilliant Toronto-based artist, Oli Goldsmith for the incredible video.
Helps me process these messed up emotions. My so of 34 yrs had a heart attack and I’ve been through the gamut with depression and anxiety myself. Thankfully he was operated on and has bounced back quickly but we both are ‘in repair’ and this song just hits different now..
Hang in there. Sending all my love and hope.
music has some kind of energy and the songs with meaning can be truly inspiring in different ways. i am a ex cancer patient who is in repair. but spiritually as well as physically .
Stay strong everyone. If life hits you hard, don't fall down - hit back even harder.
i'm high and watching this from my past. there's truth to this song. i had a new born son. without thinking to deep into this mess, olp brings me peace.
Best OLP single in my opinion, although 'Thief' is also pretty epic.
+Chris Kent Agreed. Always been my favourite :)
This and Starseed are the best in my opinion
What about Naveed?
Naveed is still my fave
Car crash is my second favorite song of theirs
when i was 8 i heared this song for the first time. im 18 now and its strange to see how much the world around me has changed in the past 10 years. to me the whole album is something that i can look back on and remember a time where things where simpler more innocent. to me, our lady peace is timeless
How has the last 10 treated you friend
Life….
glitch art! this was ahead of it's time!
Oli Goldsmith is a hell of an artist.
This song and video gives me goosebumps every time
I look down and read the comments and since well, everybody is getting all philosophical I'm going to just say that this video is so trippy. One of my favorite OLP songs, very underrated. Long live good music.
another amazing track that kinda got lost in the clutter of everything during this time period. This is one of my fav tunes by OLP. You really feel the chorus...everything flows perfectly. Good song writing.
This song never gets old. Moves me every time.
I am trippin balls...Oh, wonderful Our Lady Peace music videos...
This one still cuts deep 🥹✨
The chord progression mixed with his vocals in the chorus flies me to another dimension. Amazing..
Feels like only yesterday when I was sitting in the clinic skipping school and hearing this song over the radio. That was 20 years ago, how time flies.
Cried at the concert Friday when they played this. Such a good song.
cried as well on the Saturday when they played
And I cried on Wednesday in Halifax when they played it. Nice to know we're all together in our emotional response to their songs no matter where we are.
Same, October 15th for me. Such a brilliant band, I'll never understand how they didn't make a far larger impact globally.
Really hoping they come to Australia someday, I'm sure I would have the same reaction as this song has been monumental for me over the last decade.
Most under rated band in Canada... Saw these guys In London Ontario mid 2000s and defently one of Canadas unrated bands specialy all they did for the community & world in that fact.
This always felt like their OK Computer album to me. And I mean that in the most complimentary way.
My dad used to play this song for me when I was young. Seeing this music video makes my chest feel so hollow. I love this song and this video makes me miss when I was young, when my dad still loved me.
Keep your head up. Some things are out of our control. Luckily we have some good music. Hope tomorrow brings you a better day.
You can never stop loving someone once you've loved them. You can put that person in the back of your mind but you'll never stop loving them. Your dad loves you, I assure you.
i just got my first job and my sister told me to buy this album when i got my first pay cheque. I didnt know who they were or what kind of music. I listened to this album almost every day for a year. It helped me through very difficult times.
This song, this video... perfection.
I never get tired of this song. It's beautiful!
Who woulda thought how prophetic this song would be, as Ray Kurzweil says at the beginning.
Spiritual Machines was my absolute favorite OLP album of all time.
mine too, it grew to be my favorite, I love the whole album and concept
This album has been there when I had no one. When I thought about ending my life, when I couldn't reach out to anyone. When the people in my life shamed me and labeled me as toxic and walked away from me for how I feel. That lonliness. Where all you have is your headphones. I know It all too well
You are strong brother! You've got this. Stay strong and God bless! You are not alone.
Thank you for sharing your story. I'm thankful you got through. Music is really powerful.
I can relate this album got me through tough times in high school when I was being bullied and had very little friends to support me
Best OLP song, hands down..
Been listening to OLP since Naveed... seen them a few times live... never get sick of these guys! I'm now 27 and anticipating their next album so much!
OLP is underrated
Dream Girls Daily that is a compliment lmao
No.
I have been good. I AM in repair as we speak. This is the best OLP song. Really. I like Starseed too.
Omg! This really makes the 90's plesent again! Such an impact the feeling of relief! Honestly not sure why because when I heard this then and possibly seen this on t.v, I really felt the chourus like a wave of really deep emotions wash over me! Life has so much beuty and I truley believe we can renew this somhow within 2022 however Canada decides to achieve this!
The year is 2029.
The machines will convince us that they are conscious, that they
have their own agenda worthy of our respect.
They'll embody human qualities and
claim to be human, and we'll believe them
The Age of Spiritual Machines - Ray Kurzweil
Matthew Garnier
Well.its good.to.know.your.doing.olayy
10 years.... not so far-fetched when you think about it
@Dream Girls Daily #Oooof
Robots could embody everything good in our society ever.
Over the years this song has actually rose to the top of their songs for me. I think it takes living through real relationship hell/love/confusion. No kid can really get this. You have to realize relationships do fail. Relationships that you could never imagine it could happen to. Very sad.
@Elizabeth Harmon I think I overstated that first part. It’s all relative. I think some relationships when younger would definitely qualify and the more mature kids would also be able to comprehend. Also forgot to add that any “kid” finding and listening to stuff like this for sure has very high EQ compared to other kids that aren’t. This is heavy stuff. Not the type of stuff kids listen to anymore
One a helluva song to have on your side going through hell ...
@@scottannett3466 yes sir. 2:32 leading up to 2:39 then they take it to another level not expected at 3:03. Builds and builds! Peace.
My father just died and this song just speaks to me ❤
Just wow..incredible!
Years 2029 …..
Truth.
OLP 40 years ahead of humanity.
Also, the allowance of us going ahead of time permits the human brain and the “potential” evolved soul to go way way back to seek the stability that humanity currently seeks and needs.
✌️
Atlanta? ❤️✌️❤️ let’s go there.
This is an absolute gem of a song and video.
I love OLP. This song brings back so many good memories.
I'll tell you something all right, there's a lot of bands that came out around this era and Our Lady Peace is one of those bands that you really need to follow. They had an amazing album progression with what I feel to be their Apex coming on their what fourth album?? Reminds me of REM in a lot of ways because not too many bands get to have an album progression like Our Lady Peace did. High-quality albums that have stood the test of time.
August 2020 and still sounds amazing!!
I still love there older stuff like this song
Watching the Video for the first time.
Wow I've been missing out for years
Spiritual Machines II coming out? Cannot wait this was one of my favorite albums.
A band could spend their entire career exploring the "meat robot" theme.
This has to be the most stimulating music video ever made!!
only 300k views? One of my olp favorites!
Great song❤ timeless classic
I think I've listened to this atleast 10 times a day for the past month... love it.
This reminds me of the simple times. 8 years old watching mtv
Grade 12 memories for me. I had this on busr. Got the CD for Christmas 2000
i use to listen to this BRILLIANT album all the time!!! summer of 2001 i think.....really great underrated a bit too other than the life single
One of my favourite OLP tunes!
I'm always in repair. I will always be working on myself. Every time I judge someone, every time I negative self talk, every time I think I'm better than someone, any time I think I can drink again.... I'll always be in repair. Im glad im aware. This song blew me away as a kid and it blows me away at 37 even heavier. I'm glad I'm aware how fucking awesome Our Lady Peace was.
probably the greatest song ever sung.
Just bought tickets to their upcoming tour. Queue going down OLP Memory Lane! Can’t wait!
1999 had such a bright future goin for it..
Broke my back last week
Thank you OLP
God’s people don’t know what else to say😊
Love is Love, always and forever
😃
I dont know why but everytime i listen to this song (which has been nonstop for the past 2 hours) i notice more about the music and about the video and i like it even more every time. A lot of the symbolism becomes quite apparent while even more of it escapes my grasp. One of the best thought out and best sounds by Our Lady Peace in my opinion. And deffinatily the best music video i have ever seen. A true masterpeice, i wish the new Our Lady Peace music had this much soul
This is an absolutely amazing album. Its is without a doubt my second favorite album of all time (Sunburn by Fuel being first) Every song is amazing and haunting and it never fails to be there.
Our lady peace is my hope that real music still remains, you're the guys that make canadian music an amazing thing.
I think i can proudly speak on behalf of all your fans, Thank you for your entertainment. we all love you.
love this song
Memeber Our Lady Peace! Yeeeaaahhhhh! I memeber youtube........I member.
The man speaking in the beginning about our future and realizing the future he spoke of is here as the music starts. Makes me jizz my pants every time. Epic tune ahead of its time
I regret not picking up this cassette tape when it came out. Just downloaded it finally, better late than never.
I've had a lot of death in my life lately and all I can do is sit back and try and understand it all. gone so young. So I come here to try and come back to some good tunes that remind me of the times as a kid/teen and didn't have much of a worry in life and hadn't experienced heartache so much. I hope to "repair" myself eventually. Much love to OLP and the 90s even some early 2000's music.
man this album is so good
I forgot how good this album is!
I've been listening to these guys since the early 90s,it's now 2021 and I still get major goosebumps from this great canadian band 🇨🇦🤟
Raine Maida, your band was epic and I'm obsessed with this song right now.....
The drums remind me of Naveed. Probably why I like it
This song is amazing, the video is brilliant.
Only 399,920 views? Wtf is wrong with people, this song is amazing!
Seen these guys live last weekend at Edgefest in Toronto... my canadian soul can rest easy now :') ... by far my favourite song by them
Probably the best OLP tune...brings me back.
The drummer really kept this band so tight back in the day. Miss tracks like this.
congratulations ☺.
by God 3 in 1 and even Son of Man
