    Just finished doing my 2008 Altima... Recommend doing 1 year of yoga prior to attempting this filter replacement. The twists, turns and contortions I put my body through were awesome. Thanks Nissan : )
    Some people are saying that this can be done without removing the glove box. While I am sure this can be done that way, I personally had such a dirty filter that upon removing it, several inches of small twigs and little leaves remained in the box that needed to be vacuumed out. I would not have known this if I hadn't removed the glove box and looked inside. NO WAY you can look inside that small slot to make sure it is clean without removing the box without a bore scope camera.
    I am 90% certain that this filter had never been changed so the amount of "stuff" that scraped off the old filter and dropped inside as I was removing it is probably not an issue if one does this maintenance once a year.

      Yep we recommend changing the filter once a year or every 15,000 miles.

    My question was answered. I saw your reply to Spywtw about 1 year ago about the direction of the airflow being to the rear of the vehicle. That eased my mind about how the cabin air filter was to be installed. It's tricky with bending the cabin air filter in. But I will hope to get better in this process. It is very challenging. The structure of the NIssan seems to demand such an air filter. It is one of the most challenging of air filters. Thank you filter head so much for all your hard work, who ever you really are. I love the videos. My job today is to install the cabin air filter in my 2009 Nisan altima.

      I can ever reach Spywtw to thank him for his question. But thank you Spywtw also. Hope your Nissan is riding well for you. May your cabin air filter stay spotless.

    You don't need to remove the glove compartment. Just reach down, may be tight but it's more than possible.

    The key aspect is which direction that the arrow should point to when it is installed. I believe that you want the arrow pointing to the rear of the vehicle. However, other websites want the arrow on the cabin air filter to face the firewall, which is the front of the vehicle. I am so confused on this matter, so confused that I can not replace the cabin filter that I took out. Don't worry about us removing the glove compartment. Worry more about how the cabin air filter arrow should face. This is the key issue. Hope you can answer my question. I will check back on this. Confused Brian

      Hi Brian, The filter we sell has a tab on the sideband and the filter should be installed with the tab showing out of the housing which would be the bottom right corner.

      I'm at the same problem right now I don't know what to do I just removed my old filter now I'm trying to find which way the arrow should face

  • @brianfisher6605

    Other websites that I have viewed on replacing the Nissan cabin filter always indicate that the cabin filter should be installed with the arrow pointing to the fire wall, which is the wall separating the car from the engine. Is this correct, or should the arrow be pointing to the rear of the vehicle. This pointing to the rear of the vehicle would have the tab at the bottom. If the cabin air filter points to the fire wall, the tab would be at the top of the filter.

      The air flows towards the back of the vehicle.

    Does air flow direction go towards rear of vehicle?

    • @filterheads
      @filterheads  5 лет назад +1

      It does, indeed, point towards the rear of the vehicle. A good rule of thumb if you are pulling out the filter and forget which side the air blows through is to check which side of the filter has dirt and debris. The air will start on that side and pass through to the other side.

      @@filterheads If you knew what my air filter looked like once I got it out. It was shredded. It would not give me any information. Why do some websites then tell us to have the cabin air filter arrow point to the fire wall. Are there 2 kinds of filters. Yet the arrow should indicate air flow.
