Unreal. Ford dealerships have never change this cabin filter in five years! It was completely dirty with leaves/pollen. Thanks for the video. Clear cut.
I just changed mine today for the first time since 2019 and it was a bit dirty but not full of leaves and stuff that my son’s truck was at six months old. Although the video makes it appear a pain in the butt it’s not hard. It took me literally minutes. The hardest part was finding a 7 mm socket.
I have a 2017 with 138,000 miles. Watched this instructional video and in about 10 minutes had the job done. The old filter had 138,000 miles. Pretty dirty. Thanks man. You made it easy. Good video.
I wish all these types of videos were this concise. Excellent video, and way to go Ford engineers for making changing the filter into an archeological dig.
I was thinking the same thing when I was watching the video. I just bought my first truck, the F-150 XLT. Previously I had a 2003 Ford Subaru and that was a much quicker process. Like two clips to get the glove box out, then a "door" was right there to access the air filter. 10 minute job. I expect this F-150 to take 30-45 minutes my first time lol
Thank you so much! I watched other videos on changing this filter. They did not cover the same removal parts that I had. My 2016 Lariat was very similar to yours. Your video made a positive, successful filter change for me. I greatly appreciate it!
2019: The flat rubber piece and the vertical piece of trim is one piece of rubber that pops out. Got a little confused for a second looking for the "missing" piece, but super helpful.
THANK YOU for showing how to do this for the Platinum F-150! Most people don't seem to understand the Platinum trim is different from other trims! The only issue I had was one of the white clips fell down into the opening and disappeard. Now I cover the opening to make sure nothing can fall down it.
Thanks for the helpful video, I just got done changing my own filter for the first time thanks to this video. I doubt it would have gone nearly as smoothly if not for the excellent walkthrough
So incredibly helpful; I want to add to anyone else watching pulling out that main piece at 1:36 is no joke. It sounds like you're breaking something for sure... I don't think this will hold up well when these trucks are 10+ years old. Awesome video, nonetheless!
Thanks for the video. I bought a 2017 F150 3 months ago and I'm changing the oil and all three filters now just to be safe. I had trouble getting the front plastic piece off (the one with the screws), it felt like there was an extra clip on the right side that wouldn't pop loose. I finally got it out, sure I was about to break it. When I pulled out the old cabin filter, it looked like the original that was installed at the factory (6+ years ago). I'd like to say it's the dirtiest filter I've ever seen but when I changed my wife's engine air filter on her 2002 Monte Carlo, it was completely black - in spite of her having the oil and filters changed at the dealership every 3,500 miles. Guess it was too hard for them to get the air intake apart.
Great video! Sadly this is a prime example of today's engineering. You have a filter that needs to be replaced periodically, it should be in a place that is obvious and easy to access.
Nah....this is just Ford engineering. Most of the barnds make this process fairly quick and simple. Only Ford makes you dismantle parts of yoir dash to get to the cabin filter.....Even Germans make this shit simple....if you look at all the space they have to make filter more accessible......
Thanks for the video. I appreciated the good lighting! The plastic piece takes a little effort to get it loose. Ford wanted $65. My niece works at auto parts store and got me a filter for $10. Nice to save some money for a change 😊
Thank you for doing the video. Easy steps to accomplish. I have a 2017 and had never changed the filter. The cabin started smelling musty/moldy and I think that was the issue.
Great video. My 2016 is a little different in that it doesn't have that silver piece you have to pry up but the rest was spot on. Thanks for saving me $200.
Thanks for the video. I needed a refresher... Noticed the Fram replacement has fewer pleats than the OEM, which likely means you'll have to replace it more often.
Thank You Very Much.....because of your video it took me less than 10 min to complete. AND I didn't need to pay the dealer huge amounts of money to do this...thanks again..!
Do 2014 Ford F150 have this cabin air filter? Or is it just on the 2015 & up trucks? Hope u have insight on this before i rip my glove box apart to find out...
ok, good video man, I am going to go do it now, for us people that have a eye for detail, you didnt put the little flaps on the side of the filter pointing up.
Thanks for the video. very clear to the point.. How often is it recommended to change it? I have a 2017 wonder if its ever been changed. truck has 60+K miles on it.
I know this isn't really difficult...but our in other vehicle, all you have to do it open the glove box, press in on both sides to drop the glove box down, and the filter is right in front of you. I can change it in about 10 seconds. This is kind of ridiculous. But I do really appreciate the video...it was precise and complete, and tells us everything we need to know to swap it out. I have a new F-150 but now I know how to do it when the time comes! Thanks!
Totally agree - I have a 2020 that I bought new - getting ready to knock the filter out. As soon as I saw him removing trim pieces I started having a panic attack.....
Good video. However, removing all these panels and the bin isn't as easy as all these videos would make it seem. But I couldn't have done it without watching them. Thanks!
I feel like something is going to break when I try getting the panel off with the clips. Absolutely ridiculous. I ordered a dash tool to see if that helps.
Short, clear, and to the point, what a great video.
I watch your video once a year, always exceeds my expectations
THIS is how you make an instructional video. 10/10
You’re video was the only one that talked about air flow and which way to insert it. Thank you so much!
I appreciate how promt you were in the video. No bs talking just work. Thank you for your service.
Got it done. I had to pull pretty hard on that plastic cover, but it eventually snapped loose. Thanks for the instructional video.
I just went through this as well. I thought I was missing something. Nope, just had to get angry with it.
Hey Ford, that's way too hard for a filter change!! :-) Great vid...:-)
For real
They want you to take it to the dealer…same can be said about the battery position
Not necessarily just really annoying
Straight and simple and to the point, MY MAN, thank you and be safe.
10/10 video! Direct to the point. Clearly showed every step. This is the benchmark of how these type of videos should be done. Thank you!
Unreal. Ford dealerships have never change this cabin filter in five years! It was completely dirty with leaves/pollen. Thanks for the video. Clear cut.
My dealership wanted $109 to change this filter. 5 minutes and $20 at Wal-Mart and it's done.
I just changed mine today for the first time since 2019 and it was a bit dirty but not full of leaves and stuff that my son’s truck was at six months old. Although the video makes it appear a pain in the butt it’s not hard. It took me literally minutes. The hardest part was finding a 7 mm socket.
Solid. Solid. Thank you for a thorough job with no fuss and extra garbage.
I have a 2017 with 138,000 miles. Watched this instructional video and in about 10 minutes had the job done. The old filter had 138,000 miles. Pretty dirty. Thanks man. You made it easy. Good video.
Much appreciated, just picked up a 2015 and the cabin filter has never been changed.
What a great video. Short, clear, to the point. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for your comment!
Yep....agreed. Quick, easy, and to the point. Thank you!

Excellent video! Thank you! Direct and to the point! Crazy how they engineer this though!
2019: The flat rubber piece and the vertical piece of trim is one piece of rubber that pops out. Got a little confused for a second looking for the "missing" piece, but super helpful.
Thank you for being the only video to show the airflow 👍🏽
Agree. I was kind of sure but it reinforced which way my filter needed to go / AIRFLOW / the right way / Arrows Down👍👍thanks
Excellent. Right down to business. Perfect tutorial.
Props to the creator of this, very clear got past the install and everything turned out great.
THANK YOU for showing how to do this for the Platinum F-150! Most people don't seem to understand the Platinum trim is different from other trims! It’s not just the platinum. Lariat on up all have the same trim pieces to remove.
Thank you for this video. First time in my 39 years i've ever changed a cabin filter.
Thank you sir, purchased one thru your link. Never knew i even had one, cant wait to see how dirty it is
Thanks for the helpful video, I just got done changing my own filter for the first time thanks to this video. I doubt it would have gone nearly as smoothly if not for the excellent walkthrough

They are metal clips that go over plastic. Replace the metals and you will be fine.
I just did my 2015 , 10 year old truck and it was fine!!
Well done and clearly explained. Thank you!
Quite a bit more involved than my Kia Optima, which requires no tools and 60 seconds.
Thanks…. Saved myself some money doing it myself. The video was extremely easy to follow.
Best video I've seen yet, right to the point, clear about what to do love it! Deserves a subscribe from me man!
Thanks for the video. I bought a 2017 F150 3 months ago and I'm changing the oil and all three filters now just to be safe.

@betterdeadthanred839 you have never changed the cabin filter on an Alfa Romeo Giulia. The F-150 is way easier.

Thanks. You saved me some time figuring it out. Building my RUclips degree.
Concise and it includes the extra trim pieces that need to be removed to access the 7 mm screws. Many thanks!
Glad you found the video helpful!
Very good video, Ford dealer wanted $45 😱 got the filter for $10 at Walmart and took less than 30 minutes ☺️💰💰😎 Thank you
Changed my cabin air filter with no problems thanks to your video. Thanks for making it easy man!
Thank you so much. No way I would have gotten it done easily with the CAF instructions.... 7mm socket helpful and pointing out the attached wire!
Thanks for the video. I appreciated the good lighting!
The plastic piece takes a little effort to get it loose.
Ford wanted $65. My niece works at auto parts store and got me a filter for $10. Nice to save some money for a change 😊
Thanks... in '24 ! =)) Dealer wants $60 to replace the air filter and $159 for the cabin filter. Got both today for $28.
Great video. Yours is the only one that shows how to remove the upper trim piece on a Platinum.
Glad it helped
Thank you for doing the video. Easy steps to accomplish. I have a 2017 and had never changed the filter. The cabin started smelling musty/moldy and I think that was the issue.
Very helpful video. Thank you.
Thank you for saving me money at the dealer.
Great video. My 2016 is a little different in that it doesn't have that silver piece you have to pry up but the rest was spot on. Thanks for saving me $200.
Very good to hear you got yours done!
Thank you! Just knocked it out in about 25 minutes. You made it easy!
Great video without a bunch of BS. Thanks
Thanks great video, saved people a lot of money
Showed the best way to do it!
excellent instruction video, thanks for posting this. I'll be on the lookout for more of your postings.
Could they make it more difficult? My last vehicle had the filter cover in the cabin. Just open it and change the filter. Took 10 seconds.
Fantastic video! Gets right to the point and is super easy to follow. Thank you very much!! :D
Thanks for the video. I needed a refresher... Noticed the Fram replacement has fewer pleats than the OEM, which likely means you'll have to replace it more often.
Thank you, very helpful and very easy to get to and replace after seeing your vid
Thank You Very Much.....because of your video it took me less than 10 min to complete. AND I didn't need to pay the dealer huge amounts of money to do this...thanks again..!
Great video!!! I have the 2018 XL model so I don't have that piece you have to pry out, just a larger rubber 1 piece 😁
Thank You for the advice. I drive a 2017 Ford F150 XLT pickup truck
Very helpful video, thank you!
Do 2014 Ford F150 have this cabin air filter?
Or is it just on the 2015 & up trucks?
Hope u have insight on this before i rip my glove box apart to find out...
Outstanding! I appreciate the clear details. Thank you and God bless
Perfect, thank you. You have to pull pretty hard after taking bolts out of the 2nd piece but all good!
You’re the man.
Great video!
Thanks for saving me 97.00 having the dealer do it
ok, good video man, I am going to go do it now, for us people that have a eye for detail, you didnt put the little flaps on the side of the filter pointing up.
Great video, was very easy to follow.
Very helpful video I already changed mine
Very very well done. Thanks!!
I use the Fram filters too. They seem to work much better at smells like food.
Good video man straight forward no long intro just right to the point. Thank you.
Appreciate the knowledge. Was way easier than what I thought. Thanks again
Clear and concise! Thank you!
That's the best video I've seen!!
Good quick simple video 100%.
Thanks for the video. very clear to the point.. How often is it recommended to change it? I have a 2017 wonder if its ever been changed. truck has 60+K miles on it.
Cabin filter should be changed every 24k - 30k miles. As for how dirty it gets, it depends where you drive your vehicle.
Great instructions for replacing the cabin air filter
That was helpful to me, thanks a lot.
Thank you so much for this video it helped me tremendously!!!
Great video sir 👍🏻
Good video, no bs straight too it thanks.
Awesome video, no fluff, straight to the point. Thank you.
Great video very helpful thank you so much
Nice job ! Ford should have and could have made it a lot simpler!
Very good video my man!! Keep it up
Great video keep it up
Best video out there. Thank you.
great, easy to follow video.. Thanks
Thank you -- your video made my life so much easier :)
Thanks, the Local Ford Dealership wanted $94.90 to install a new filter and Deodorize the filter plenum. $25.99 @ O Reilly Autoparts.
Great video thanks bro.👌
Very good video straight to the point. As it should be thank you.
Thumbs up for your video!
Thumbs down to Ford for making it so we have to take the dash apart to change out a cabin air filter.
Very helpful. Simple instructions. Thanks
You the man!
I know this isn't really difficult...but our in other vehicle, all you have to do it open the glove box, press in on both sides to drop the glove box down, and the filter is right in front of you. Good video. However, removing all these panels and the bin isn't as easy as all these videos would make it seem. But I couldn't have done it without watching them. Thanks!
Super clear video. Thank you very much.
Perfect DIY!
A little bit off there are 4 clips on the piece with the 7MM screws 2 on each end
I feel like something is going to break when I try getting the panel off with the clips. Absolutely ridiculous. I ordered a dash tool to see if that helps.
Perfect. Thanks! Took me 10 min
Very helpful video, well made.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful!
