One of the best how to videos I have seen, short, to the point, and totally accurate. Makes me wonder if this guy is not a full time dealership mechanic. You have raised the bar for You Tube how to videos.
This is a MUCH better video than the other ones I've TRIED to watch that had horrible sound and spent 12 minutes to show the same thing you did in 2. Thanks for the know-how.
Did mine this afternoon thanks to this video. Short and to the point with good light and angles. Got to point out those little hinge tabs on the bottom of the filter door. It is possible to get the door on with one tab "out", so I removed it and started over.
Excellent video the only difference between my truck is I have a lariat and there’s another wood faux trim piece that you have to pop out to get to the 7 mm bolts. Thank you so much for the solid video.
Thank you so much, very very helpful. The dealer charged me 50 bucks to change it, I had taken the truck in for an oil change and general maintenance. They had the filter out and told it was dirty, so I told go ahead and replace it since they already had it out. 50 bucks!
Your explanation was very professional and totally educational.I just Subscribed to your channel, looking forward to visiting and viewing future videos of yours. Learning still after 36 year of being an auto mechanic, still with ever changing vehicle design, the learning never stops.Thank you and all other " good minds " That upload information such as yours.
Good video! This video was missing a specific step involved in removing a decorative trim piece above the rubber coin tray that is included in some upper trim levels. Found some help on another video for that.
Great video. On the King Ranch Edition, there's a wood trim strip that has to be removed in addition to the rubber floppy piece. I was able to hook a dental pick underneath it and pull gently and have it pop out. It's very easy to damage. Other than that, the replacement procedure was about the same.
Thanks! Got it done! One thing I would point out is to be careful when pulling out the upper glove box part because when you pull on it, there are little white clips (8 of them) behind it that can detach from that part!
Thank you! I was told I had no cabin air filter due to some bad info on the Ecoboost forum when these first came out. It hasnt been changed in 75k miles. Absolutely disgusting.
Great video. 1 small difference with mine was the rubber strip. It was in 2 pieces. A soft rubber piece on the ledge and a hard plastic along the back, that also just snaps in place. Otherwise identical, thanks for the video.
Just did mine..took less than 10 minutes...my glove box only has the 2 push in tabs on the sides and it drops right down...went with a Bosch hepa filter ,about the same price as the Ford filter..I don't think it matters too much though...thanks again.
The only problem I am having is how to pop out the upper glove box part (starting around the 1:10 mark in the video). As he says, the plastic part can break. I don't have past experience getting those clips to release so now I am stuck. Any input would sure be welcome.
Update: I was able to finally get the clips to release. I used a small mirror to see where ALL the clips were and I used a air of pliers to help get the clips to finally move.
thanks! i watch a lot of how-to videos on youtube also and always appreciate it when people cut the fluff out and get right to the point. so i try my best to do the same.
Same with the King Ranch...small amount of prying on the bottom corner popped it right out...use a plastic spudge or something non-metallic to pry the bottom out enough to get a finger under to pull it out...
OMG who knew? I have a 2016 F150 xlt since new. Ran across this video. I replaced the original cabin air filter it was disgusting black and full of dog hair from my Chocolate Labrador who goes everywhere with me. I will change it yearly as recommended.
Yes I've changed mine several times. Take it easy with that dampener arm. Remove it like he says, I didn't, lost the little geared wheel. They cost $50.

Hey man thanks for the kind words! It's a goal of mine to respect people's time and keep the videos short and useful. Have a good one!
Keep up the good work. I have seen some real hacks out there.
If only everyone who volunteers to make a helpful DYI RUclips video could do it as well as this one was made. Thanks for taking the time to do this
Awesome video. To the point without telling us about the family history and what was for dinner. Thank you!
Thanks for making an easy job easy. It took me ten minutes from start to finish.
Though a simple topic for many, this is one of the best tutorials I've ever seen. Excellent. Thank you.
Best video by far! I like your pace man! And thumbs up for the no-nonsense!
This is a MUCH better video than the other ones I've TRIED to watch that had horrible sound and spent 12 minutes to show the same thing you did in 2. Thanks for the know-how.
I just paid $125 to have this replaced during my recall service appointment. Next time I’ll do it myself thanks to your video.
Thanks the fiX. I need to replace my 2015 with 19,000 miles. You have the best explanation I’ve found.
Is it the same as 16'?
Excellent video! I watch it every 10,000 miles for a reminder of the steps to replace the cabin air filter!! Cheers!!!
lol same here. One of these times I’ll remember how to do it 😂
Now that’s how you make an excellent no bs video . Great job . Step by step .
I was going to make a video for changing my 2016 F150 XLT Cabin Filter but after watching your video it will not be necessary. Thanks and great job.
Never know different look might help some folks out
Thanks for the good camera angle of the filter door

this is the best vid on how to replace the truck cabin filter! fast, clear, and accurate. just the way we like it
Super video. Extremely accurate without wasting a lot of time. It took me a little over 10 minutes to do the entire job.
Excellent video the only difference between my truck is I have a lariat and there’s another wood faux trim piece that you have to pop out to get to the 7 mm bolts. Thank you so much for the solid video.
real wood on the KR...
Thank you so much, very very helpful. The dealer charged me 50 bucks to change it, I had taken the truck in for an oil change and general maintenance. They had the filter out and told it was dirty, so I told go ahead and replace it since they already had it out. 50 bucks!
Crazy man. Yeah they got me with that scam once. Never again!
My dealer charged me 160
@@allstar2709 YIKES! And I thought I got taken.
Perfect video, thank you for keeping it simple for us folks that like to do the minor maintenance to our vehicles.
Glad to help

Great video, well done. Especially having the common sense of omitting any unnecessary material.
Short, sweet, and to the point. Appreciate that.
I am replacing the cabin air filter in my daughter's 2016 F150 and your video was perfect. Thank you
What, no stupid music playing, thumbs up just for that.
Great video, got it done myself. I don’t think anyone’s ever changed the filter in this truck.
Thank you! I was told I had no cabin air filter due to some bad info on the Ecoboost forum when these first came out. It hasnt been changed in 75k miles. Absolutely disgusting.
Thank you! Couldn’t figure out how to access after removing the main glove box. Much appreciated!
Thanks, made this easy and dealer charges $50 total for this $15 project.
Richard Alewine my dealer told me $70
Thanks my friend! This was very helpful! Just replaced mine. Never changed since ownership. A big difference!
nice vid, much better than other ones for this job
Best online video I've ever used, quick, clear, and to the point! Nice Job! fiX files
Thank you. This was easier than I thought it would be.
Great video. 1 small difference with mine was the rubber strip. It was in 2 pieces. A soft rubber piece on the ledge and a hard plastic along the back, that also just snaps in place.
Otherwise identical, thanks for the video.
Great video! Short. Perfectly on point and done correctly. I wish they are all like this. Thank you!!!
Great video, to the point very clear,, concise and thanks for mentioning the 7mm socket saves lime searching !

Bought my ‘15 with 45k miles. Changing mine tomorrow. My cab doesn’t smell but probably worth changing anyway
Thank you for the video. Thank you Ford for not making it easy.
Just the way we like it,short n sweet. Thanks bud
Thanks for making it so simple, really helpful
Thanks dude! All the stuff none of the fluff, great video!
Nice video, but you don't need to take out the glove box. Just remove the upper panel.
Thanks, from a clumsy idiot. Your video made this a super easy replacement.
Great video replaced my cabin filter in about 2 minutes. Thanks
Thanks buddy, quick and easy. Appreciate you
Super concise and easily explained. Thanks
Glad it helped!
Great job RUclips professor! Thanks for your work.
Great video. Made the job so much easier.
Glad it helped
If a perfect video exists, this is it!
Nice presentation. Saved me over 100 bucks. Thank you.
$100 !! , please tell us specifically who wanted to charge you a $100
Any dealer....@@earl60446
The dealer.
Hey brother, thanks for resisting the stupid music!! Nice clear narrative.
Lol thanks. I try to keep the nonsense to a minimum and just get folks the information they need.
My filter was about 3x darker at 59k miles from the previous owner. So neglected. No more though. K&N fresh and clean air coming out the vents now.
The only problem I am having is how to pop out the upper glove box part (starting around the 1:10 mark in the video). As he says, the plastic part can break. I don't have past experience getting those clips to release so now I am stuck. Any input would sure be welcome.

Bro this was a good an simple teach of this I thank u cause this helped out allot an for other I’m sure
Nice and concise. Very well done.
thanks! i watch a lot of how-to videos on youtube also and always appreciate it when people cut the fluff out and get right to the point. so i try my best to do the same.
years later, thank you!
Excellent video - super helpful and detailed. Thank you!
Thx for this. What I dont get is why is there a switch for a light but no light?
there is a light in the glove box, at least on mine anyway...
NIcely done video! Just the perfect length for me!!
Thank you! Did it in less than 5 mins!
Platinum screws are not behind rubber Thing. There’s still plastic covering them. Canno’ figure how to get it out
Lariat is the same. Wood trim needs to be snapped out. Seems tougher than it should be. Pry from the bottom edge til it snaps
Same with the King Ranch...small amount of prying on the bottom corner popped it right out...use a plastic spudge or something non-metallic to pry the bottom out enough to get a finger under to pull it out...
@@AlaskanAdventure that's real wood on the KR. 0.000001 mm thick. Thes rest is cheap ass ford plastic...
1:11 this part is tough. You can not rush!
Good presentation. Easy do it yourself. Thanks
Thanks for posting. Very helpful!
Great video. Straight to the point.

Awesome, thanks for posting this video
My work truck is a 2016 f250 and I was looking to replace the filter.
Is the f150 the setup I'm guessing ?
MrHillfolk there isn’t one in my 2016 F450 either.
Excellent tutorial , thank you 🙏
Do you know what would cause a sour smell when you turn on the ac it is intermittent
Hilario Martinez probably something got into your air intake and is wet.
Thanks a million!!❤️
Thanks… great post
Perfect tutorial - THANIKS!!!!
Very helpful thank you 😊
Thank you for the video
VERY helpful. Thanks!
Great video thanks!
Do you still work on Ford?
the way all videos should be
Nice job thanks.
Is this the same for the EcoBoost F-150?
Mine's a 2.7 ecoboost. Probably will be the same for all of them.
Yes I've changed mine several times. Take it easy with that dampener arm. Remove it like he says, I didn't, lost the little geared wheel. They cost $50.
It's not the same. Mine is the 3.5 ecoboost lariat trim. There is a wood trim that isn't shown here, and It's difficult to remove.
Perfect video
Excellent video..tyty.
thanks for the info
Excellent thank you
awesome...thanks so much
Thank you, fiX
Uh, yeah. Way helpful thanks!
20k mile, not where I live, I haft to clean my filter every 3 months with laundry soap and water.
Michael johnston I found turning on recycle air when on dirt roads etc makes these last a lot longer.
