2015 Nissan Altima. Both filters Changed! Thank you!
Thanks for watching
I spent less time taking the glove box out and changing the filter than I did trying without taking it out. Thanks for the help.
Thank you for doing this. Even though you don’t have to take out the glove box, I’m glad that you did so I could understand where the filter is located and the positioning for getting a new one in. I couldn’t figure that out from other videos where the glove box wasn’t removed.
The coupe version of the Altima requires removal of the glove compartment since it gets in the way of access to the filter. The sedan version of the Altima doesn't require removing the glove compartment.
U Did it the hard way
One thing you can also do is get your favorite calone or perfume and spray the filter on both sides so when the vents are blowing air it will make you're whole car smell good all the time.
Thats a neat idea . thanks for the tip
Great video. The others I watched did not show or mention the need to remove the glove compartment. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks friend that was very helpful you rock!
I know there’s a video without removing the glove compartment but this makes it very understandable ! God bless you !
Yes you do not have to remove the glove box 👍
You always come through in clutch with the well explained videos and good camera angles. God bless you my guy. 🙌🏿
Thank you 💪
Very well done. Step by step in depth detail. Thanks David Hasselhoff.
😂👍
Great explanations and very helpful 👍,thanks!
Awesome! Easy breezy! Thank you!
Thanks for watching
Very helpful. Thanks!FYI... the glove compartment didn't need to be removed. The passenger leg panel can be removed to get to the latch for the in cabin filter. It's relatively difficult to replace (put back) the new filter and it takes longer to remove and to install. The removal of glove compartment gives you more room to move making the replacement easier though.
+Michael Chan thanks for the info and watching. I realized it didn't need to be removed but for the sake of making the video I had to remove it. Thanks for watching
The location is the worst. It took 2 minutes for a Camry no tools. This is so crazy. Thanks for the video.
its like Nissan said hmmmm how can we make changing the cabin filter as difficult as possible
You dont have to remove the glove box if that helps
good video. Just a caution. As you opened your hood, I noticed your battery terminals are corroding. If you haven't changed out your battery yet, I suggest you do it quickly. I just had the same thing happen with my 2013 and it literally ate away the terminal cables. I'm getting them replaced as I type this
+David Peruch the battery was swollen. I changed it soon after I put out this video. Thanks for watching and commenting.
How do u know which way the air flow part goes? Does it go facing to the front of the engine or to the back?
I put the filter in with the glove box installed its is a massive pain in the ass i will remove the glove box next time im 6 foot and 230 pounds i have to lay on my back with my feet in the back seat to do this job it has to be the worst filter placement in history . Great job on the video
Oh god this is so much easier on an old Camry, just 3 or 4 screws on the glove box and there it is, like a VCR slot.
From Knight Rider, to Baywatch, now to tutorial vids on YT...is there any end to The Hoff's greatness??? Well done 👍
(My filters are otw and I need to know the how so sincere thanks!)
Thanks for watching. Btw theres no need to remove the glove box to change the cabin air filter
Thanks for this tutorial, idk why car makers making it so hard to just simply replace the ac filter, why they make it like easily reachable without disassembling anything. So the flow arrow should face going to the inside like going to the rear direction? I already removed the cover and the filter but it is very hard to put the new one so now i need to remove the compartment
You don't have to remove the glove box it's not necessary. Yes it's tricky to install the new one
Thanks for taking the time to show us how to do it
You're welcome.thanks for watching
Thank you so much. Very well done.
+Squid Proquo you're welcome. Thanks for watching
Yeah man, you don’t need to remove the glove box. It’s pretty much the same. Probably giving yourself very lil arm room, but it’s still tight space to remove the filter
By far the easiest and best video to follow. Thank you a million.
Thank you, I appreciate it👍
Such a pain to put unless you have the OEM FILTER. I ended up going to the mechanic cause I bought a good one from Amazon
Bingo thanks for the tip!
FYI. Just did mine without the glovebox removal. Very difficult to get the new filter in.
Yes i have a pinned comment saying the glovebox doesnt need to come out .
Me too 😂😂😂
Hey I just did this with the factory filter I have the nissan logo towards the little plastic cover and the arrow is pointing to the inside the cabin is that right ?
That's right
@@themechanic6117 thank appreciate it means me hanic put it in wrong he had nissan logo facing back end put arrow was right way
My biggest concern about the cabin filter replacement is getting all the dirt, leaves etc throughly out of the filter area when the old filter is removed. Can you actually tell if you’ve removed all the debris with the vacuum?
No it's almost impossible. Just get what you can with the vacuum and move on
@@themechanic6117 ok thanks
The glove box does not need to be removed to replace the air filter. It sure did help for me to get more access so I can record this video and show you how to change your cabin filter but it's not necessary to remove the glove box .
Charles White I know you're an idiot because you said "certified" mechanic 😂 . Bro it's a diy channel, calm down about the glove box 😂😂
I HATE NISSAN. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY F@#$%ING RIDDICULOUS.
I can change my Honda Accord out in like 2 minutes. Between this and the CVTs, I am DONE w/Nissan. They Suck.
Ok thanks for clearing that up ... i just watched another vid that didnt remove the box
damn that's crazily deep for the cabin filter.
Jay Zhou yes the glove box doesn't need to come out, I thought it it would just be nice to have a little extra space and making recording easier .
What's happens if you out it in backwards
Doubt youll notice the difference
Very helpful, thanks.
+Michael Hibbitt you're welcome. Thanks for watching.
You're right ,you don't have to remove the glove box. I've mentioned that to other people.. So Mr Nissan mechanic why are you watching this video ?
Tried it without removing but it was difficult to see if there was one in there
I change it in the dark/night w/a bright LED light shinning. Great contrast and you can see it much better than day. I don't take the glove box either...
Where does the arrow have to point? Towards the back of the car or the front of the car ?
Towards the back of the car
Like arrows pointing towards myself or away?
Towards yourself
@@themechanic6117 thank you!
Question?
+Ayana St Jean yes?
Does the air flow arrow point into the cars cabin?
Yes
hey ... that cover never fully attached in your video :-))) ... I am having trouble putting it back on as the top of it doesn't hold. In your video I also see it did not hold on the top. You probably had to redo it a few times
Yeah I had to give it a few tries. All the nissans I've worked on it always the same with that cover
@@themechanic6117 so what is the method to put it back on. I think i got it to stay and then just covered with the cover. Maybe not that big of a deal that it may not be perfectly attached?
Just keep trying. There's times where no matter how much I try it won't sit right. As long as it doesn't fall off it'll be fine. It's a crappy design
You don’t have to take the glove box out, but good video
Yes I now. I get dozens of comments about that. There's a pinned comments stating this 👍
I believe this can actually be done without removing the glove box
You're right. The glove box removal is not necessary
@@themechanic6117 Great video nonetheless. 😎👍
Especially since we had an appearance from David Hasselhoff 😁
Yup I did it without removing it. I used a Fram with baking soda. Removed the odor from the vents just hard to go at it blind.
There is a much easier way without taking off the glove box.
Yes i know, its pinned in the comment section.thanks for watching
I only thumbs down you cause I don’t like clowns …You scared tha SHIT OUT OF ME NOLOL
Thanks for watching 👍😁
NOT FOR CABIN FILTER REPLACEMENT. WRONG!!!!
Only thing wrong is the glove box doesn't need to be removed
