Thanks. Saved me 94$ for replacement and part. ❤
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much! This was extremely helpful. I truly appreciate how well you displayed the steps and how clear your walkthrough was. I had to search for several videos, and this one was by far the best!😊
Glad it helped!
Well done. I like your approach. Just so everyone knows. There is another opening on the other side that you can remove to check that the folded filter sprung back to its normal shape.
Good tip!
can you show us? I have a really hard time installing this filter, i can never put it in.
Absolutely 💯. Thank you. It was a body contortions job, but you made it soooo much easier.
Glad it helped!
This video was more helpful than the first one I watched. Got it done, thank you. I’m getting ready to do the one on my 2012 rogue now. The engine air filter design was much better on the older rogue so I hope that holds out for the cabin air filter. Much simpler to change on the older model.
Great to hear!
My filter is not behind the glove compartment or by the passenger side console, 2020 rogue any ideas ?
In essence the filter is really behind the infotainment center - the flap can sometimes be a smidge hidden behind paneling.
Your video was great, a big help. Thanks. Just changed mine. I don’t know what those dunderheads at Nissan were thinking, it was far more difficult to access and change than it should have been.
Glad it helped!
Great camera work. Thanks for making this look easy.
Glad it helped!
It looks easy when you edit ou the difficult parts.
Very well done. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Great help
Glad it was helpful!
Well recorded! Simple to follow and right to the solution! Thanks.
Glad it helped!
Nice job! I found this job to be a real pain in the neck, literally and figuratively. Being a senior, and having to contort my neck to do, not fun. I wasn't really 100% sure I got it properly seated, but I think so. I think I used a Carquest CAF too. Hondas CAF infinitely easier than the Rogue. Watched other vids before doing it, but this would have been most helpful. 👍
It’s definitely a bit of work getting under the dash! Glad this video is helpful.
JUST got done doing this. Never again….
@@stevey1707 🤣 I hear ya! The 17 Rogue I help out with is daughter's. But yeah, not the easiest to do.
Yep. I’m doing it now. Bad design. Not easy like my Hondas.
You are right not easy at all 😢
Great command of the English language. Nice diy video.
Hope it helped!
@@MattStephensRich it most certainly did!
Use a swiffer handle to guide bottom in . Took me 5 minuter
Good tip!
My 2017 Rogue Sport looks nothing like this when I remove the panel to change the cabin filter.
Я когда менял этот фильтр вспомнил всех родственников инженеров nissan
Thank You for this Video
You're welcome!
Buen trabajo amigo bien explicado gracias
Glad it helped!
Thanks for this! I think I managed to do it right. When I tried to remove the old one, it was sideways. Guess it either wasn't installed correctly last time, or it worked it's way around. Quick question, though, I noticed some wetness when I stuck my hand in the slot without the filter. What could cause that?
Great job!
Where is this located?
I have zero confidence that the filter expanded back to a rectangle after installing.
Is there a cover that goes over the filter area ?
Yup, it's the black plastic molding that is removed and reinstalled!
What a crazy cluster of a design…
For sure!
Nissan has the most stupid design. I inserted the new filter like yours, but not sure it can re-expand itself inside, hope it will😊😊
The “pinch move” does help it reexpand; giving the filter a healthy shake can help!
My new one disappeared and I can't grab it out of there anymore. Do you know how to get it out?
Would honestly recommend a good ol coat hanger to poke around!
@@MattStephensRich Tried it. Nothing has worked, I will take the car to the dealer and let them struggle with it. I pray that they can get it out of there. If not I will never be able to change it again.
My 2010 Nissan Altima had the same silly setup to change filter.
Hope this helped!
Absolutely 👍 I appreciate it!
My wife has the same year and color rogue so definitely saved me from overpaying the dealer to do it.
ours doesn't look nothing like yours
Weirdest replacement ever 🤷🏻♂️ Nissan engineers were definitely drunk when designed it
Definitely fun!
Agreed!
Very uncomfortable to replace filters in Rogue
Toyota or Honda much better designed and easy to replace filters..
Too true, definitely the funkiest of air filter replacements I've done!
Don't forget to add that the latch has a screw on the side that needs to be removed .....
Hmmm, didn’t seem to have that action on this pass?
No screw on my 2020
No screw on my 2015
My 2016 has a screw as well. Small Phillips head. About an inch up and on the right side (toward engine) of the pull tab.
This video doesn’t tell you that you have to remove a screw to open the filter door.
There wasn’t a screw on mine actually 🤷♀️
No screw on mine either
2019 and 2020 models actually use the phillips screw (located to the right of the lower pull loop) to secure the filter door. I'm sure it was an assembly update to address a buzzing noise coming from under the IP by customers. Funny thing is if you watch videos made on RUclips of 2014 to 2018 models none of them have this screw but all of them have the screw hole.
No screw on mine :o
That probably means at some point when you had vehicle serviced - tech removed screw to check filter and never replaced it.
Wow, what a SOB to get back in. Knew getting the old one out it was a matter of squishing get back in, but with a new one you are reluctant to shove too much. Getting into an hourglass shape, bottom 3/4 in while working the top in is a nice tip. Horrible design. But saved $100+.
Glad it helped!
gracias matt ...me ahorraste 100 dolares de labor en la agencia....abrazos
Glad it helped!
Thank you for the video but Nissan did a poor job in this particular design. The filter should slide in and out with minimal frustration. What i went through was... NOT minimal frustration.
Hah fair!
Gave it a yoink and the plastic ripped right off
Truth
Gosh, what a bunch of complainers. Car maintenance is not always simple or easy.
It could be worse? Why do you think your friendly local professional car mechanic is making $20.00 an hour🤟
True true!
I think it's dumb that you've to squeeze the filter to fit it in, because if it doesn''t fully expand, there'll be a gap where most of the air (and whatever else) get into the cabin w/o filtering... Another dumb Nissan design.
Yeah not the best 🤷
I agree. I went thru hell getting that thing in and out
Nissan! Hello Nissan! Are you taking notes on this absolutely ridiculous design?
Hah we’d be lucky!
Dumb engineering design. So much harder eith right hand drive vehicles where pedal in the way
Definitely tough!
Your slight-of-hand edits over the difficult parts deprive your viewers of those parts they most need to see. Stupid design...shame on Nissan.
Promise the bracket comes off! Let me know if you were getting stuck on any spot!
Too much explaining
I always drop in time stamps so you can jump to sections you need. 😊
I appreciate every second of his explanations
Thank you
❤kkkñ know us D3 us x S❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤LM
Taking 8 minutes to explain a 3 minute job.
It’s why I add chapter marks so you can easily skip ahead 😊
I had to take the glove box drawer out of the way to get to a screw before pulling the tab out and replacing the filter.
Good work!
