    A useful vid. My RAV4 is brand spanking with 3 years servicing thrown in so it'll be a while until I need to look into this... the vid I am waiting for (although I note that your RAV4 already has one) is how to install a 3rd party powered rear tailgate. In my case, I couldn't justify the extra $6k to purchase the higher model with that feature.

    Great video! I bought an AC Delco CF3314. Seems like it needs to be turned 90 degrees in order to fit. So, the filters folds will be at a 90 degree difference from the OEM filter. Can you see any issue with that?

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  2 года назад +2

      The orientation should not be a problem. Make sure to follow the airflow recommendation on the filter. If the airflow is not observed, the air filter efficiency will be reduced.

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  5 месяцев назад +1

      If your cabin air filter does not have arrows or air flow direction most likely it is a basic filter and can be installed either way. The ones with different media layers require you to install it a certain way: Why You Should Not Install Cabin Air Filter Upside Down? - ruclips.net/video/Io-9OAEOEv8/видео.html.

    How often is the change recommended?

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  3 года назад +8

      The general rule is 15K to 30K miles. It depends on the environment you drive in, quality of the air filter, etc. I would visually check it at least once every year. If you have any issues with the air flow, odours or excessive dust in the vehicle, it is definitely time to replace it.

    Carbon side up or down??( air flow is from top to bottom)

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  9 месяцев назад

      Normally, the carbon side should be on the bottom of the cabin air filter. You should follow the air flow arrows on the filter. They should point down. Here is another video explaining the process: Why You Should Not Install Cabin Air Filter Upside Down? - ruclips.net/video/Io-9OAEOEv8/видео.html.

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  2 года назад

      If it is an aftermarket air filter, most likely the arrow means the air flow.

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  2 года назад

      No, there should not be any whistling noises. You need to check if the air filter and the housing were properly installed.

  • @HolstenSA
    @HolstenSA 2 года назад +1

    What will happen if i put it wrong?

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  2 года назад +1

      If you put the air filter in wrong, it will clog up sooner and won't provide proper filtration. Cabin air filters consist of different layers filtering different size particles. The top layers catch larger particles and bottom ones catch smaller ones. If you install it upside down, it will clog up much faster.

  • @Raj-nh3fc
    @Raj-nh3fc 8 дней назад

    Does it really matter in the filter function if it is not aligned with the arrow, after all it is a single layer filter. If it had multiple layer filter with different filtering behaviour for each layer then I can understand that is necessary to align it to flow direction.
