Thanks for including where to put the jack under the engine man
This man gave you the world and youre still unsatisfied
@@h8tool yeah, I needed to know how to hold it properly without damaging the oil pan. Someone included that in another video tho
Started and completed in about 3 hours, so direct and without any unnecessary parts or harnesses being moved an removed. Liked, subbed, and a huge huge thank you. Awesome job...
@@l.d.roberts2194 Nice! Glad this video was helpful 🙂
I'm doing this today....I'll update how it goes....thanks a million for posting this videos. UPDATE: Operation thanks to you was a total success, thank God I took your advice and replaced the valve cover, mine was 100% cracked, oil in all 4 plugs. THANK YOU!
Glad it worked! What was your symptoms before changing it? I'm trying to find a oil and vacuum leak, but cannot see anything obvious. Suspecting the valve cover atm....
@@rasmadrak The only symptom I had was that I was losing oil too fast, had to put a quart of oil almost every week. I went to change my oil one day and saw oil all over the back of the engine and under the frame of the car. I immediately suspected the valve cover gasket.
@@ramonvargas5928 oil cooler gaskets like to go bad on the back of the motor aswell
Got an 08' Sentra Spec-V, same 2.5L engine. Your opener for this video was almost my exact reaction when I popped the cover to plan for this job...😯🤨😐
Gotta say though, you did a great job with the break down and what to watch out for. Thanks so much for this well put together how-to!
Great video! You helped me realize having the valve cover off would make changing the fuel injectors much easier. I was considering removing the intake manifold, but I think I’d rather remove the valve cover.
2007 spec-v with similar engine set-up here. Agreed. I changed my injectors though w/o removal of either but I could not put the clips back in place. Now that I need to replace the valve cover, I can finally access that. Owning this engine is a love/hate relationship.
THANK YOU YOUR VIDEO HELPED ME ALOT TOO REPLACE MY VALVE COVER GASKET!
Great music choice. I am impressed.
Thanks for the video. The motor mount is a mess, but this helped
Finishing this tonight … SUPER HELPFUL VIDEO! Thanks man!
Thanks! Looks like something I can pull off over the weekend
I usually don’t comment or like videos just cause I’m a butt head like that but this was an excellent excellent video man …. You explained everything perfectly and in order…. I’m actually having to do an alternator along with the valve cover itself and new motor mounts as well…. Excellent job man … you definitely got a like and subscribe and I even saved the video for later use…. Thanks a lot and god bless!
Sweet! Glad this was helpful. If you have any questions on your project feel free to post it 👍
Excellent walk-through/explanation........ you name it......................just outstanding job. Thank you Valley Mobile Auto
You're welcome! Glad this was helpful 👍
Love how u fast forwarded unnecessary bolt removing love the efficiency
Greatest instruction and extra cool music from my childhood
10:13 the specks are in engine installation section of the manual, 36 foot - pound
@@mkrp4 Thanks! 👍
Excelent video man, good explain and illustred same way. Congratulations.
Is their any specific torque pattern/spec for the valve cover?
Thank u for filming this repair i have to do one on my car this weekend
Dude where are you located so I drive my nissan right over to you .... I can't find a good trust knowledgeable mechanic to save my life .... 😫
So quick question … the white smoke didn’t come from out the exhaust pipe for me , it actually came from the engine Bay Area itself . The mechanic I had pressured washed the outside of the engine becauseoil leaked everywhere. Is it normal for the engine Bay Area to smoke after the replacement of the head gasket cover or after being washed ?
Bro, thanks a lot for the information about torque good job, great video, great channel
Great video, informative and to the point!
Thanks Busch! 👍
You are the man! Great video....
What are the torque specs for valve cover bolts and the torque spec for the spark plugs? Thanks ahead of time!
Thank you sir!! But need to know for cranking over the motor for the oil in plug well , did you disconnect anything for fuel ? .is it needed
I follow your video and I was able to change the cover and then I started my engine it was a lot of I just said you could be I had two of them leaked and they had a lot of wild and some of them I believe went into the valve cover so what is going on after the vehicle was running for 2 to 3 minutes to shut off
Now and I'm trying to start it again it just cranking up is not starting , I don't know what could be happening
Excellent video. THank you.
Did you apply the liquid gasket? It looked like there wasn't any on there when you installed the cover
Thank you
good job may do next weekend gonna subscribe just in case I have questions
Gracias por el tutorial exelente información .
May god bless your heart
Nice job. Gasket for valve cover comes with new valve or not. in addition PCV valve comes with the cover. The PCV on this car is not replaceable. in addition, now is good time to clean or replace fuel injectors as well. All the room. Very hard w/o removing the valve cover. forget about the intake, that is the worst design ever. I thought RAD removal was bad without taking out the AC lines on condenser!!
Great video thanks!!
The coil pack seals are absolutely replaceable. I've replaced several of them. 👍
How do you replace them?
I came here to say this, replacing mine today 😅
What's the typical cost of the entire valve cover? Does it come with gasket all around the cover and the gaskets for each spark plug?
Our 08 Altima just started leaking at the valve cover gasket after a super cold freeze for several days... now it's warmer and barely a drop ! Should I go ahead a replace or wait and see... thanx in advance!!
I’m not expert but I would replace it
@@robertoflores599 got er dun.... no more leak.... replaced the cover too.... it was trash.
@@Tngoz that’s good, glad it worked for you, I just got my coils and spark plugs and gasket cover replaced too
I JUST CHANGE THE SPURK PLUGS YESTERDAY I HAVE 2016 ALTIMA 2,5 S AND I FOUND OIL ON THE SECOND SPURK PLUGS ON PASSENGER SIDE OTHER THREE WAS DRY HE RECOMMENDED ME TO DO VALVE COVER DID HE MENTION ENTIRE VALVE COVER I DONT KNOW WHAT U THINK IS BETTER TO DOIT NOW TO STOP HAVING MISSFIRE IN THE FUTURE OR I CAN DRIVE LIKE THAT
Replaced Spark plugs and ignition coils yesterday on my 2015 Altima. After I was done white smoke leaving the exhaust system. I will try this repair and see what happens
Good Job Super
Thanks Isaiah 👍
Thank you very much
I only had oil on my actual spark plug like on the threads. What could that be?
Thank you bro!
Same thing happened to my car. I didn’t understand the difference and mileages cuz I just couldn’t think you put that much mileages on your car from daily use it’s insane how far stuff is lmfao . Starting now to understand a bit but still don’t know . I just know if I changed my shit on time when it’s supposed to these other problems wouldn’t happened
Will this same one fit on my 2007 nissan altima 2.5s? Can you please drop the link?🙏😭
Awesome job
Thank you 🙏🏻
You should support the engine with jack under oil pan first
What the internal diameter for the other hose on the right? I’m about to do this repair but my hose is linked and brittle
Should the coils be replaced aswell?
My dear how to pull out tube seal's fix seal's
What were the symptoms this repair resolved - Engine Misfiring? I'm getting a P0300 multiple cylinder misfire code.
This fixed an external oil leak. If you have oil getting in where the spark plugs are it can cause a misfire. Changing out the spark plugs wouldn't hurt if it's been a long time since they've been done.
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive Yes I have some oil in one of the spark plug wells, the first one on the left. Is it safe to assume I need to replace the valve cover? Since oil has already gotten in, it will likely make its way back. Seems like a waste to replace plugs, coil pack, etc, if the new parts will get saturated just the same.
@@joep2710 yep you're right. The valve cover needs to be replaced 👍
Where are u located and could you work on mine it needs the same service
I replaced my Nissan Altima valve cover gasket how you showed and also plugs. Everything looks good but when I turned it on it was excessively vibrating and overheating, do you think I missed something?
You might have damaged one of the ignition coils since you are saying the engine vibrates. Im not sure about the overheating, it happened to me before I had a bad coil and the everything was shaking but I kept on going and pushing to reach my destination and eventually it overheated I think because air-fuel-spark ratio was all over the place.
i also replaced my nissan altima valve cover i have same symptoms also i noticed coolant reduce level in raditor , did you solve the problem ?
My moms Nissan was shaking and smelling funky, ran a code reader and it ended being one of the cylinders so we replaced cyl 3, and we replaced all four spark plugs. Car running great now but noticed oil leakage into that same area so we will also be replacing the valve cover.
Why you didn’t show us the gasket?
The gasket came installed in the new valve cover. If you're replacing the gasket but not the valve cover then just pop out the old gasket and lay in the new gasket. It should only go on one way 👍
please HELP! I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA BUT THE VALVE COVER GASKET ITS no the same as this one . i got the cover new but i can find the seal fro the new valve cover please!!!!! HELP!!!!!! thank you!!!!
Is it the 4 cylinder or 6?
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive 4 c
Im having this same problem . I can’t find the rubber seals inside that stops the oil
@@CapFrmFlint you won’t find it shortage of everything it’s getting hard to get parts I had to wait over a week to get it. They have to type of engine cover this nasty cars go to the auto part and tell them what you need them take your valve cover gasket and you still need to buy it new so you won’t have to mess with it in the long run.
Easy Pesy Big Rob
Thanks C 👊
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive torque specifications for everything?
I have a 09 nissan altima 2.5 I bought all the new valve cover and new seals and gasket now my question is how long of a time will this take me and did you say you need to jack the motor? Can I just use a big floor jack to hold the moter up if I take that motor mount off will my motor fall out of place?
Do I put the jack under the oil pan 🤔?
It will take a couple hours to complete the job. Yes, a floor jack is what I used. Put something like a block of wood between the jack and engine. The engine will move slightly even with a jack under it but that's ok. When it's time to put the motor mount back on you may need to raise or lower the jack as needed. You can also move the engine forward or rearward if needed.
In the books it calls for 1.5 hours of labor
@@jasonguthrie5099 yep under the oil pan. That's what the block of wood is for, to protect the pan. The pan is strong enough to hold the engine no problem, just don't jack the whole car up with it.
Took me about 3 hours and it's my first time changing a valve cover. If you follow the steps you should be good.
Why must we need a new valve cover? If they offered spark plug tube seals with the valve cover gasket, then everything could be replaced when the valve cover gasket is replaced.
Unfortunately for these plastic Nissan valve covers the tube seals are not replaceable 😕
@ValleyMobileAutomotive I understand, the seals had to get into the cover somehow so, they should be replaceable.
Correct, they DO sell individual tube seals.
I'd like to think he would have tryed been nice if he pulled one out to show us
Thanks for the video, but yeah,.nah.
Its always the far left hole that fails and leaks oil first.
What is the smaller hoses name at 2:25
Pcv valve hose
How many ours R&R?
What idiot designer thought, "Oh, I forgot the engine mount. Let's just put that anywhere."
Lol I know right 😂
No video shows how much miles these cars have 🤔🤔 mine has 143K miles and I just replaced the PCV valve and hose and check engine light came back on and I noticed very little oil from the gasket
Mine has 148k and the cylinder misfire and I replaced them all cus I know they’re all going to go out and I also replace my valve cover cost about 700 bucks with new sparks too
Mine has almost 300k and this is the first time I'm having to do this
I just saved $1200 highway robbery! You deserve the best karma in the world broheem
Hi there! This is Kyra from Issyauto, a professional brand dedicated to producing the best car parts. We'd like to invite you to do a Dashboard Cover Mat for 2007-2012 Nissan Altima review. Would you have interest in working with us? Thank you and look forward to your reply!
No gasket?
It comes with the new valve cover pre-installed 👍
Wow😮
Same reaction 🤣 why motor mont of top of the gasket
If I have a little oil in the spark plug hole how do I get the oil out of it? Or what would you recommend?
Just pull the spark plug out and let it drain into the cylinder 👍
A siphon pump BEFORE you pull out a spark plug.
You don't want that buildup in your engine!
You can also put a tampon in there. Let it sit in there for a few hours
Do not pull the spark plug out when oil is settled in there!!!! Spray some brake cleaner in there and use a compressor to blow it out with a rag on top
If those seals are not replaceable then why can I buy them with the kit
D.a
@@BullyGamingEnt what is that
@@chris18228 Im not sure but I think he's calling you a dumbass 🤷🏿♂️
Am I dumb or did you forget to show the gasket install
You're not dumb, the new valve cover comes with a pre installed gasket. If yours comes separate the gasket lays in the cover groove. It only goes on one way. Once you see it it will make sense 👍
That’s not the torque specs for that motor mount 😐 look at the exploded view again
How did you interpret the 4 mount bolt torques?
Ty! Awesome info..
My electrical harness is very brittle. Im scared shitless too do a simple valve cover gasket replacement on this car...i forsee it falling a part as i easily move it out of the way 🫣🫣🫣🫣
Great video! Do you need to replace the ignition coils that were covered in oil? @valleymobileautomotive
Not typically. A good spray down with solvent a rag and letting them dry should be enough. If you notice a misfire even after cleaning them then you can replace them. If you do replace them stay away from cheap coils. I would stick with Nissan coils 👍
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive will do. Thank for the reply
I got the same hose from the Nissan dealership for cheap
Great video! Thanks!!!
