  • Do you wanna be an experienced user? Computer users are usually divided into two groups: those who prefer using their mouse and those who’d rather use hot keys. Turning a sequence of mouse clicks into a simple press of a key or 2 can go a long way in increasing your productivity. A person spending 8 hours in front of a computer daily can lose 64 hours every year by using a mouse instead of the keyboard for most tasks.
While we might all know a few keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl + C for copy and Ctrl + V for paste, we seldom try to find or use other shortcuts. Bright Side made a list of 10 keyboard shortcuts that will turn you into a power user. You ready to boost your productivity and look cool while doing it? Then watch our new video!

    SUMMARY:
    - Next time you need to redo something you accidentally undid, just press Ctrl + Y for Windows or Command + Y for Mac, and continue your work like it’s no big deal!
    - Press Ctrl + Shift + N while on your desktop or in an explorer window, and your new folder will instantly pop up ready to be named.
    - If you wanna delete your files completely here and now, just highlight them and press Shift and Delete. For Mac users with OS X, the shortcut will be Option, Command, and Delete.
    - Press the Windows key + period (.) and enjoy the Emoji keyboard on your Windows device! Keep in mind that this little trick will only work if you have Windows 10.
    - We've all been in the situation when you have so many windows open that it gets a little hard to manage. All you have to do is press the Windows logo key and M (or Option, Command, and M for Mac) and voilà! Your path is now clear!
    - Minimizing windows is cool, but what if you need to lock Windows itself? Not a problem! Clicking the Windows logo key together with the letter L will do the trick!
    - To add a new virtual desktop whenever you need it, press the Windows key, along with Ctrl and D.
    - If you need incognito mode, press Ctrl, Shift, and N to save yourself some time! If you're on a Mac, it'll be Command, Shift, and N for you!
    - Don’t worry if you’ve closed an important tab by mistake; Google Chrome has gotchya covered! All you have to do is press Ctrl, Shift, and T, and that tab will come right back.
    - Instead of all that time-wasting inconvenience, just hold the Ctrl key while clicking the links you need! This simple shortcut will help you remain on the search page while opening all the results you need in separate tabs.

For #10, no need to hold/press Ctrl. Just middle mouse click the link you wanna open. Also works if you go to the tab at the top and middle click that, it'll close the tab you click on. Say, if you need to close the tab without actually going to it or pressing the X on it.
Note: If you bring back the most recently closed tab with Ctrl + Shift + T it'll go to that newly opened tab, even if you closed it with the above.

Get your facts right what windows is before commenting 😎

    • @thatoneguy2274
      @thatoneguy2274 5 лет назад +18

+Ethan Johnson "mac is for students" no its not. its too expensive. chromebooks are for students.
macs are for people who want the world to know they have money to waste on a $5000 machine with the same power as a $1500 windows machine for the sake of OSX. which fyi can be installed on custombuilt machines. google hackintosh for more info.
apples laptops/pcs arent made with magic. they use the same hardware as most windows laptops. apple just charges an extreme premium. come on. $1600 for a DUAL CORE? quad core is minimum nowadays with octacore becoming the "high end mainstream"
apple products, especially their computers. are highly overpriced. but people buy them for the OS and for the build quality. both of which are nothing special. macOS is almost a linux distribution, just one without all the power-user features so its easy to understand for plebs who dont even know that the mouse has two buttons. and there are tons of laptops out there with the same build quality as a macbook.
and dont even get me started on their repair policies.

No ur not...I do the same thing. I also know all keyboard strokes for word, excel, all office. I'm old school lol. I touchtype 95wpm. It's easier to use keyboard while typing than move the mouse.

I'm pretty sure that most of the people use these shorcuts! They're so well-known already, thst's why they didn't put them in the video.

4:00 Windows+M to minimize? I have been using Windows+D to minimize for the last 12 years. What is the difference between them?
I have noticed that with Windows+M you cannot return the open windows back, whereas you can do that with Windows+D.

    • @Cyb3rM1nd

Windows + M minimizes the windows while Windows + D just "shows desktop" without minimizing. There is not much difference if you just need to view the desktop quickly. Some programs behave differently when minimized like only showing taskbar notifications when minimized or such - it's not common. Windows + Shift + M brings back any windows minimized by Windows + M.

@@user-qq2bj6by9m Yeah, I think you are more comfortable hitting Windows+D with your fingers than Windows+M. I mean based on their location on the keyboard when your right hand is busy with the mouse :)
