Or you listen to it years later knowing it was always a rabbit dystopian nightmare hiding an ancient curse. Only ending if you were the true hero needed all along-

Fun fact: Jenka's (30:15) theme is based on the 1965 song 'Letkis' by Finnish artist Katri Helena. It was a song made for the dance 'Letkajenkka'¨, which was a dance craze similar to the Conga line during the time. It was also translated/covered by Japanese artist Kyu Sakamoto, so there's also a good chance that that's what originally inspired Jenka's theme, given the creator is Japanese.

Fuck I didn't expect that menu track to hit me so hard. I remember playing this game for the first (of many many times) time in my last year of middle school. Too many emotions
My gosh... I'm stuck here listening to Running Hell for probably hours now, in the game that is, and maybe my time of listening to Seal Chamber in-game adds up t o an hour by now.... I even got to the final form, with like 9HP but died twice there.
I used to listen to this in 8th grade to help me work. This was before I'd ever played the game, or even knew much about it at all. I just loved the soundtrack.
I used to play this game on my Mario 20th anniversary edition DS. I wish my parents didn't get rid of that thing when I moved out... whatever I can still play it on steam 😐
I see why you put the first song first, but I'll always associate it strongly with the plantation. I think it was written for the plantation rather than the menu, and I was confused as to why it was named "Cave Story." At least Amaya didn't write a really good track for the menu that was destined never to be fully heard; that's one of the things I like least about many great soundtracks.

Moonsong and Geothermal still make me cry after so many years
it has been 3 years since i played this game back in eight grade, it feels really nostalgic hearing this
this game has a special place in my heart, the soundtracks give me comfort for some reason. i have been suffering for 3 years and listening to this would help me forget about everything for a while.
One of the best soundtracks of the indie games
Still stands as one of my absolute favourite game OSTs
These ost are just so good
MAN I LOVED THIS GAME WHEN I WAS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL I WOULD ALL WAYS PLAY IT I KEEP PLAYING THE GAME OVER AND OVER EVEN STILL TO THIS DAY

The good old days of wii when my sister and I would race to see who could finish first. *”UP!” Remembrance music starts playing*

Hehe this is my old account 😅
@@ABIGAIL-heck hii
nice to see you
Fuck I didn't expect that menu track to hit me so hard. I remember playing this game for the first (of many many times) time in my last year of middle school. Too many emotions
Me too. This brings back memories of my childhood playing this game which will never come back man. This song is so nostalgic
Pier Walk sounds like it would be in the credits. Maybe it’s that it takes aspects form them theme, but I think it would be fitting.
i didn't realize it when i played it as a kid, but cave story was amazing
i remember when i was a little kid and i played this game for the first time in the wii of my brother
I remember getting the demo on my Wii cuz I was too poor to buy the actual game and would just play that over and over again 😂😂
same, also i didn't know the game was free on pc at that time
Boss Difficulty:
Easy - Gravity
Medium - Eyes of Flame
Hard - Last Battle
Insane - Oppression
@@dez-m I would say the core is pretty easy, rabid toroko is tougher even when you dont use the booster for the core
Oh! I love this game
best. soundtrack. ever.
아 존나 추억이다ㅠㅠ
I remember playing this game originally on the wii, ahhhh memories anyone else?
I played the "original" version on my psp
@@abhinavarya2285 I played cave story on Xbox with a psp emulator
1:00:45 the creepiest music fr
nah acolytes of the new god from fallout 1 is pretty spooky
I just loved the soundtrack.
man meltdown 1 slaps more than its sequel
shoot I found this after 7 years. I forgot it and it was my favourite (indie) game.
Someone get in contact with Daisuke and tell him we need a prequel or something cuz I need more cave story
I used to play this game on my Mario 20th anniversary edition DS. I wish my parents didn't get rid of that thing when I moved out... whatever I can still play it on steam 😐
I'm Played This Game On PPSSPP Gold It's So Cool
I miss this.
0:29 when you win something
つきのうた大好き!!!!
This makes me want a CS:GO Cave Story music kit
We need a prequel
i used to watched my brother play this game on a wii u c:
Cool, awesome, CAVE STORY OST 1 HOUR VERSION
kept dying to that rock spider boss thingy, but i'm still not rage-quitting because of the boss music xd.
20 years of cave story.
gravity is such a swag boss theme
aha! There it is. Dr. Octagonapus' theme
30:15 taunted me whenever I fucked up the platforming and fell all the way down
