Thanks for all the views, everyone.
If you don't know, I'm a producer/musician. I do remixes and make beats in my spare time. In fact, I did this remix of Pier Walk for Cave Story's birthday. ruclips.net/video/6quT6wuJeMs/видео.html
Once again, thank you all. Have a nice day!

this one has more unreleased songs and has some event spcific ones as well, you would have to edit out the sound effects though.

Hard to not break into tears listening to this ost. One of the best games of all time and a clear example that graphics are not the only thing that make a game a masterpiece. I found about this game thanis to my cousin who let me play the demo on wii. Years later I played it till I beat "The Core" and then I realize there was another ending to face "Ballos".
I could not beat Ballos at the time cause I used my last healing, literally I have replayed the game several times always finding new things you could unlock, but well I came back to the game a year kater and finally got the Ballos ending, which was tough to get honestly, but completely worth it.
To think that one single guy made such a great game and took him like 8 years to finish, but damn what a great journey he gave us.

I think so too, but it's WAYY to old. Surprisingly enough, this was developed by a single man, and looks good enough to be released as a 2018 game. It's really sad he poured all his hard work into a game that that was perfectly bugless & neatly organized lost relevance quickly.
I cant help but feel so bad for the man.

Fun fact: Jenka's (30:15) theme is based on the 1965 song 'Letkis' by Finnish artist Katri Helena. It was a song made for the dance 'Letkajenkka'¨, which was a dance craze similar to the Conga line during the time.
It was also translated/covered by Japanese artist Kyu Sakamoto, so there's also a good chance that that's what originally inspired Jenka's theme, given the creator is Japanese.

I played the original Cave Story in High School my sophomore year. I took a class that I had the impression I would just be playing video games for two hours straight a day. I had that impression because the year prior I walked by that class and saw all the students playing LAN games. I asked the teacher how I could be a part of this and said she would put me in it next year. It was a class called Strut or something. Recycled computers to teach kids computer knowledge. She somehow put me in part 2 of the program and I skipped the first.
Well after my freshman year ended and my next year started I entered the class with great anticipation... but was welcomed by a different teacher... who was a strict military veteran... so I had to do advanced computer work. Thankfully he knew we wanted to play games so as long as we got our work done we could play as much as we wanted. Thats when I played Cave Story. Had loads of fun. 🙃

Game still is and will always be one of my favorite games. I always wished it would get a sequel but looking back its fine the way it is. Gosh, I miss those times.

I'm going to Copy+Paste this from the Tribute Site.
    Internal Percussion Tracks:
This is where things get... complicated...
Cave Story hardcodes all percussion instruments (drums and whatnot) for all .org tracks played through the Cave Story engine. There are a select number of tracks that use a different percussion set to those hardcoded in Cave Story. The percussion information has been corrected in those few songs so that the .org tracks sound the same in both Cave Story and Orgmaker v1.3.4. The tracks listed below are the original .org files that sound different in Orgmaker v1.3.4 as to how they do in Cave Story.
These tracks are Gestation, Gravity, Living Waterway, Cemetery, The Way Back Home, White, People of the Root and Got Item!
This is why the versions here sound different from the versions posted by other RUclips channels, such as Frygoon. I personally prefer this version of White, because the background Percussion isn't as distracting.

    • @NimhLabs
      @NimhLabs 5 лет назад +5

@@cheddar8587 the game is kind of an oddly sad game. Where even the good ending has a lot of stuff happen that is hard to really recover from fully.
I mean... it is set in a post war world, with a reoccurring genocide done to secure a super weapon. When your super weapon requires you to mass kill fluffy cute little killer rabbits en masse to point at people you've entered into some really really dark territory--even without the added "deal with a devil" that ties a daughter and "brother" to a throne for eternity. Or the fact that the PC of the game is a literally killing machine, not necessarily built for the purpose of mass slaughter--but based on the designs of Killbots (mostly so the Killbots would not notice them) which has amnesia so you do not necessarily know that you are not a Killbot.
It is not a happy game--but still... a must play.

I see why you put the first song first, but I'll always associate it strongly with the plantation. I think it was written for the plantation rather than the menu, and I was confused as to why it was named "Cave Story." At least Amaya didn't write a really good track for the menu that was destined never to be fully heard; that's one of the things I like least about many great soundtracks.
