I found the Galien and No Eyes fights to be some of the worst.
Markoth is the hardest but I didn't mind cause I was already maxed out when I fought him.

That moment in the Hollow Knight fight when he begins stabbing himself, the strings play, and you feel the full weight of Hallownest's tragedy.
Adding to this, I read this in a comment on another video. You can faintly hear the boss roar sound in the background at the start of the Pure Vessel theme, and when you fight him, he makes no boss roar.
No voice to cry suffering...
I completed the entirety of hollow knight in two weeks.Best experience yet.

Ikr? Hive knight was tbh one of my favorite bosses not because of the hilarious bee noises they make, but also because of the theme and design of the fight. The fast pace of the battle really has a fitting theme that doesn't just make it outright frantic, it's great.

There's something particularly special about the White Lady's theme. It brings so many emotions. The peace and safety of being in the presence of your mother. The sadness of a queen unaware of her kingdom's state, unaware of her husband's and her guard's demise. I remember seeing hollow knight in GameStop without any knowledge of what it was, and decided to buy it. I’m glad I bought it. The game had me so immersed, especially the feels and emotions told me the music (especially sealed vessel). I now have 112% completion, and the game was the best thing I’ve ever played

I had grinded for so many coins. Then i died twice in the Soul Sanctum. And continued to die multiple times. I didn't know how to escape at the time. I figured it out later though.

How do you even go to city of tears unprepared? That's literally the most obvious and easy place to go after getting the Mantis claw. Even quirrel recommands you to upgrade your nail before the fight with the Mantis lords.

The vessel: sad and dark, but still menacing enough, just like the tragic boss himself
Radiance: orchestral and chorus, made for a god among insects
Grimms theme: like the music in a circus but with orgen, giving it a special vampire-touch

May have died a lot of times to him. For me he's probably like top 15 hardest bosses.
Nosk is the most ADORABLE creature in hallownest. I don't know why. But when he's running back and forth across the screen like an excited puppy it's hard not to smile.
I love how intense False Knight's theme is despite him being one of the easiest bosses in the game. I mean, he's hard compared to vengefly king and gruz mother, but that's not saying much.
That's actually also Watcher knight's theme, the third hardest boss in the game, they are intense enough
@@saulmoment4008 well that's disputable. They're hard, but I'd say three hardest are Pure Vessel, Nightmare King Grimm, and Absolute Radiance. Watcher Knights are somewhere in the top 10 probably

let's take some time to analyze the ost of the hollow knight boss fight, 58:15 the ost starts with violins in a high-pitched and fast tone to cast doubt, have you released the hollow knight now what follows? will attack you? will they interact? Will he give you his place? 58:37 total silence of the instruments to warn that the answer to the doubts sown by the beginning track is coming, 58:39 the music gives us the answer, we are going to fight against our predecessor and by the tone you know how important is this combat ,the ost transmits to you that the future of hallownest is being put into play but then it comes, 1:00:08 the hollow knight's cry in this section is different, it is the cry of his will that is still there despite the infection, 1:00:12 here comes the final blow, the hollow knight stabs himself in representation that his will is still there and at the same time the ost of the path of pain begins, which reminds you of the memory at the end of the path of pain that to finally remind you of what you saw in that memory, what you suffered and what the hollow knight suffered, it is not you against the hollow knight at this point in the fight, they are the two vessels against infection, 1:02:00 the fight It is over and you won now it is up to you to take the place of your family member and have success in what failed, this is your reward for becoming the perfect vessel, you put your brother to rest and you saved your father's kingdom

The Hollow Knight has no voice, it's not their cry but Radiance's cry. If you listen closely, it even sounds like a muffled radiance :p

I’ve always wondered if people like TwoSet would appreciate soundtracks like this. Like not just them, but what any classical musician would think of some of the really good osts out there.
I'm a classical musician, and despite a lot of bias against pop, I love every second of this OST, as well as those of the souls saga
I'm a violin player that also arranges music, and I love game OSTs. They tell so much about the world or character that the track is about. For example, the vessel leitmotif (heard in Hollow Knight, Broken Vessel, Sealed Vessel, and Pure Vessel) ties together all of these fights. 8bit music theory has a great series on the topic.

Hollow knight has this special thing that mostly only happens in indie games. Everything is so intimate, specially the music. A big amount of the tracks use only a few instruments, and it feels very personal for that, really touches your feelings.
Even thought, this game can also sound majestic, representing the shine of the divine and the glorious, frightening, as unbelievable creatures face you down, tragic, as the weight of failure and desperation consumes you, and much more. Truly a masterpiece in every aspect.

I can't help but here the battle sounds in the Mantis Lords theme, and it is my favorite of the entire ost.
NKG's music will always give me flashbacks to my attempts of beating him in genereal and attempting the No-Hit, when there's no stakes tho and you fight him again for the sake of re-visiting it's a really fun fight. One of the best ones in the game along with Radiance and Sisters of Battle.
Radiance is a horrible boss. I mean, ok, the introduction, the music, the void slowly going up as she becomes increasingly desperate... That is a well done, but the actual fight itself is bad.
Also, Hornet sentinel is my favorite boss.
I love how in 99% of action based games, there's super epic music that no one in universe is hearing, but in so many calm and relaxing games, the NPCs *are* aware of the music

That magical moment, when you just started the game, knowing nearly nothing, and descending into the crossroads. This music together with the not knowing what happened here was maybe the highlight of my first play through

I love this music so much. Thanks for uploading. My favorite is Truth, Beauty, and Hatred. Even though listening to it gives me Grey Prince Zote PTSD flashbacks but the beat is just so awesome. Both versions of Hornet's and Mantis Lords themes are amazing too. Then you have The Grimm Troupe theme. Never felt so bad ass playing a game while dodging fire balls and flaming bats.
Christopher Larkin is one of the best composers I've ever heard. Wish I had talent like that. I can't wait to play Silksong.
I must admit that I'm a late fan to the series, because my first impression of the game was "Cartoon bugs? I don't know about that". Then I finally got the game on sale then immediately regretted that I judged book by it's cover. I could've easily missed out on this gem. This is one of the best games I've ever played. Now I look at other indie games with a more open mind. Thank you Hollow Knight creators.
I know this is late but if you like indie platformers Celeste is perhaps the best game you will ever play except maybe this one. It is just a masterpiece.
