Bassoon is very much out during Greenpath, so much so that I would simply have removed that take altogether. That said, it was absolutely beautiful during Fungal Wastes, and the rest of the concert is perfection too! Beautifully done
hmm too much said - I think the bassoon for Greenpath is just played an octave or two lower and it's intentional, because the last part is higher, but the fastest parts sounds bizarre on real instrument, so jazzy and experimental but it's okey, maybe with reverb on sound system it could be a little bit more effective, just loud thinking
I agree, though I'm not a professional, so I technically don't know what I'm talking about lol. For the most part, it sounded gorgeous, and even the parts that sounded slightly off were still enjoyable.

This is great! I've been a professional musician for many, many, years and I wish I could've played more video game music, but the conductors and directors would never allow it. Got to play Video Games Live once, which was amazing. I cried like a kid with happiness, but that's it. Now I play music like this, often hollow knight, completely alone.

About halfway, to be more precise. I'm doing hornet on violin right now and I've just about finished it, but I can sight read any of them on cello. I should find some sheet music for it and record each part on cello. I have some music on my page as it is, but none is video, it's only audio. Most of it is animations from back when I was in Uni.
I'm sure you are not alone in dream to play this type of music in party. In era of internet it's rather easier to find people like you and make "some noise" together. Wish to hear it! I'm not a musician, but I definitely can say when someone play music mechanically and someone play music with soul.
I've always felt that classical music shouldn't hold humanity back. There are so many brilliant OSTs and modern symphonic music I personally can associate with and these compositions should be performed more often. I don't understand the appeal of most classical music, but this Hollow Knight OST and many others, are something that would persuade me to visit concerts and support orchestras.
Going back to when I didn't know Hollow Knight, I want to play this game one more time without knowing anything. I can't forget all the emotions when I first played it.
My god, I never realized how much I appreciated Hollow Knight's music until now. Must've been wiped out by memories of countless deaths I've faced playing the game, but man it's beautiful. So Hornet when?

The music gave me chills the entire time, but my favorite detail is that the titles of the songs appear like they do in the videogame when you reach a new area. If I've ever seen a love letter to Hollow Knight, this is it
Great arrangements! Some parts were just beautiful, especially Mantis Lords, City of Tears, White Palace, and Sealed Vessel. But as a bassoonist, when I hear the bassoon part such as in Greenpath, the intonation, tone, phrasing, and technique feels a bit off... is it supposed to be that sharp and airy in Greenpath? Also, I'm just being nitpicky here, but I think it would have been even better if the piano pedal was held down more on parts like the Hollow Knight main theme :> Don't get me wrong though, I thoroughly enjoyed the miniconcert :)
Felt like a new bassoonist to me, its weird with the piano being at a way higher level. Being a bassooniost doesnt help listening to this unfortunately.
Yeah I agree that the bassoonist sounds new, I'm not sure if it is his fault though since Takeda bassoons are known to not have the distinct color and sound that other professional bassoons do.
Yeah, I play clarinet not bassoon but I felt it being very off. Sharp from the first note, and doesn't help that the arrangement was sort of odd for bassoon as well. Unfortunate because Greenpath is probably my favorite track.
Absolutely stunning ♥️ The camera shots as well as the the music itself felt so high quality and the arrangements in this was absolutely stunning. This whole concert put me in a particular mood and I can’t get enough of it.

What an absolutely riveting performance, congratulations to you all. The choice to go with the violin rather than the viola is fascinating to experience; the darker, more grounded timbre exchanged for the brighter, more celestial brings a whole new combination of emotions to each piece. It's almost as though we get to experience the story of Hollow Knight from a brand new perspective. The viola carries with it a sense of existential grief, a lament for what is lost. The violin, with its brighter tone, is almost more plaintive, questioning rather than remembering. In this performance we are not transported back in time to what once was, but instead trapped in the moment, seeing everything fall around us, and asking in vain why it all has to go.
Very well executed! An idea about Sealed Vessel though, is just hitting that second verse while playing the first one out of nowhere, since that's what actually happens. It really adds to it so much.

How amazing, I highly enjoyed this! It's also very nice to see that my love for this soundtrack is being shared by other talented musicians. I play the piano and am currently working on learning City of Tears. It's going to be my show-off piece once I've mastered it. I'm currently halfway through. I've learned Dirtmouth before, but the addition of the violin makes it so much better than just the piano. Anyways, thanks and congrats on the amazing concert!

You guys are amazingly talented. As a violinist and pianist myself I am so impressed by the poise of the pianist and how simple he makes a difficult song look as well as by the incredible solo by the violinist at the beginning of Sealed Vessel.
The soundtrack is what really sets an in itself great game like Hollow Knight apart from other good games for me.
