Animation:the smallest thing, makes it or breaks it
That's partially why it got an academy award for best animated short film
Puré talent, now a days pure Vanity, worng motives and mediacricy.

Memerroni ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Oooo oo
My Lord, why nobody is talking about how she nailed that?! THAT'S AMAZING
Imho having listened to other recordings of this piece it really isnt that good. I mean even Rousseau's recording (which, unlike the others, is played by "some guy" instead of a trained virtuoso) has more clarity and brings out the proper nature of the piece... I mean from a classical music perspective, this recording is a trainwreck.
@Adel Eng Sheng Jun Student And most all piano recordings are also played on a stage aswell, so my point still stands. And as far as playing the piece well is concerned, clarity plays a role. If she cannot do that, then even the talent argument falls off
@Adel Eng Sheng Jun Student A bad recording is still a bad recording. It'd honestly be more impressive if she could play something like one of the Chopin Etudes but actually clearly.
@@carbon4183 Yes it's a bad recording, but it's not her fault. The mic is shitty, it's pretty obvious...
@@reveirg9 Is it? Well I'll tell you what I found at least in the opening section of the Friska (3:30 to 4:30)
a) The opening section of the Friska (3:30) is waaaay faster than normal (and louder too) and doesn't have the notes played again after the arpeggiated chord (idk its hard to explain);
b) When the Friska transitions into the bit with the repeated C# note (3:39) - it really is uneven and the whole thing is played so loud it is very hard to discern the left hand chords and the "pulse" of this section
c) When this section begins to involve octave jumps (3:44 onwards) the whole thing devolves into a mess - tempo is off; dynamics are uneven; the balance shifts making the left hand waaay more inaudible;
d) Skip a bit ahead to around 4:02 and you'll hear the lower note accented waaay more than it should be;
e) At 4:12 the dissonant notes are played as if theyre chords even though theyre meant to be arpeggiated/crushed (whatever you call grace notes)
and f) At 4:18 the lower notes are again, extremely loud and it overpowers the higher notes - as opposed to a more even balance
All of this might sound like innocent mistakes that I'm picking at, but the general point I'm trying to make is that the pianist does not appear to have good control over said piece
Not gonna lie when i watched this scene as a kid it was literally one of the first times that i ever felt emotions from music.
Like i'm not even kidding. I can't remember what but this was the first time i would just sit there as an 8 year old or something and just listen to the music.

I remember staying up late at night to see Tom and Jerry, and this particular episode was my all time favorite, not only for the comedy but for the song in general, and the fact that not only this won an Oscar, but they actually animated the play to be legit with the actual notes of a piano it's mindblowing (due to the time it came out) and makes it even more special
I remember Tom&Jerry airing early with other children's programs, before news and other scary stuff.
You don't see this kind of precision even in kids' shows today, in fact i think the animation in kids' shows today is quite bad tbh
