- Today, we're playing Hollow Knight: Speedrunner vs. Hunters, but each of the hunters has a unique superpower: invisibility, gravity changing, super speed, and reviving in the same room after death. Can I kill The Hollow Knight before the Hunters kill me? Let's find out. Full rules of and credits for the game are shown below!

▶ RULES
• Each Hunter chooses their own unique superpower.
• The Speedrunner wins by defeating The Hollow Knight. Hunters win if the Speedrunner dies.
• Hunter Starting Equipment: 3 Masks, Nail 2, Tram Pass, King's Brand, Awoken Dream Nail, Lumafly Lantern.
• Hunter Scaling: Hunters gain Mothwing Cloak and Mantis Claw when the Speedrunner does. When the Speedrunner gains their second movement ability, Hunters unlock an extra mask, Lifelines, Dreamers, and Nail 3.
• Lifelines: A Hunter may open their map to find the Speedrunner's area. Only one Hunter may open the map per lifeline and should not hold it open for more than fifteen seconds. A llfeline can be used every fifteen minutes.
• Sound Cues: The Speedrunner broadcasts a specific sound effect into the voicecall when defeating a Dreamer, purchasing a toll, completing a mask or vessel, purchasing any item, or using a tram.
• Bans: Before the game begins, the Hunter team can apply bans: two level 2 spells or Nail Art, which the team decide on together, and one charm ban per hunter. The Speedrunner will not be allowed to acquire banned upgrades or charms.
• The Speedrunner cannot hear the Hunter voice call.
• The Speedrunner has a 30 second headstart on the Hunters.

TheHuntIsOn by Korz
• ALL players do not receive healing from sitting on benches or entering dream boss arenas.
• ALL players cannot use stags.
• ALL players do not spawn shades or receive penalties from dying.
• ALL players have small elevators removed and platforms replace them.
• ALL players can instantly travel through large elevator shafts.
• SPEEDRUNNERS have various added platforms to navigate shade skip locations IF they have the loadout required to perform that shade skip.
• HUNTERS have various platforms to navigate shade skips locations no matter what their loadout is.
• HUNTERS cannot collect lifeblood seeds from the world.
• HUNTERS start with the game world unlocked (i.e. shortcuts open, most bosses killed, etc).
• HUNTERS respawn in King's Pass when they die.
• HUNTERS heal slower, and their focus cost is higher.

@@fireb0rn tried this with friends unfortunately they just camped repeatedly at hollow knight until I got unlucky and died still fun and was a blast but it was annoying

It'd be helpful if there could be an overlay (perhaps in the top right) with
• the hunters’ names
• their appearances/skins
• (icons of) their superpowers
• the “who's talking” highlight (currently in the top left, but it could be combined into this)
It sounds like a lot of work, but it'd make it so much easier to keep track of who's who.

Could possibly link this with the old discord overlay people used in Among Us. Slight tweaks to those old things may make that record-able on its own “layer” so to speak.

You could have the hunters change their profile pictures of Discord for the time of the run (or use Server profiles to change it in one discord only) to at least have the player's model in the "who's talking".
Haven’t fully watched one before so I don’t know if this is a running gag, but 2:32 “drop aggro” like they’re NPCs is hilarious
The strat for the Hunters at the end is always just to stack at THK, I think introducing another win condition like getting Void Heart could help to make their decisions more involved towards the end
Then again, with the lack of a time limit, if they stack you just have infinite time to power up. You just don't often need to take it
Could be an idea for a timed run. Multiple win-cons for Fire, but the hunters just have to run out the clock.
@@gryphose1849 fireb0rn could get time limit once he collect all three dreamer in order to minimize stacking and unlimited power up. Or just go dream no more ending.

Love how you got them with the watcher knights. I do think I prefered when the hunters didn't have their hands held so much by getting updates on everything you acquired, especially with dreamers for example. I always liked seeing them guess at how far along you were and lose over their own incorrect expectations.
Yeah, agreed. I've been using the system because I think it'll be needed for true ending with all the objectives around the map, but it's probably a bit too much info for any%.

Yeah, seeing their perspectives in small on the side would be so fun, at the same time it would be harder to watch for mobile users and much harder to edit.
Maybe an uncut video, but with YT preferring shorter form content idk how many would even watch it.
@@ashoka7273 Multiple POVs is _definitely_ harder to manage/edit for multiple reasons, but if I'm ever provided with extra POVs in the future, I'd 100% be sure to include a few significant moments from their perspectives. It's all down to what Fire and the hunters think is best to include :)
I love how fireb0rn can fight a player with super speed and a player with invisibility at the same time, win without getting hit, and then just take damage from a random moss charger

As someone who has never touched Hollow Knight, this was entertaining, the text stating your intentions and thoughts really made it engaging (along with their communication ofc).
It was hard to separate the Hunters, like who's who. And at the start I thought it kept switching between Hunter and Speedrunner perspective.

This was a good one, I feel like this team of hunters had the best head for routing yet and so had a very strong communication game whenever they caught you and at guessing where you might go next. Was fun to watch!
Something that could be fun is to ramp up the number of hunters to something insane like 20, but all of the hunters are casuals who don't know everything about the game, so you have a lot of knowledge to trick them, but you are hilariously outgunned.
This is such a fun episode. I always love your speedrunner vs hunter and this one was particularly fun, seeing them catch you so quickly.
Imagine him doing a video where he can't die but still takes damage without telling the hunters what the twist for the video is it'll be hilarious to hear their reactions

The closest in gameplay I've seen is the SA-X mode PVP in AM2R, where you have 1 samus versus 1 or more SA-X.
Including the loss at the start is a good way to show both how hard your goal is and how competent the hunters are. Hope that’s gonna happen more in the future!
I mean, 1-1 when it comes to superpowers, most balanced manhunt yet! Also Fire played crazy against THK

There's something I've taken from this, and it was karmatic justice. What I mean is on the first one, the hunters played Fire for a fool, and in the second one Fire played the hunters for fools (if you get my drift).

Honestly this was amazing! I love the new stuff, it brings that fresh vibe back from when i first found your channel! Though honestly i feel like it's a bit cheap that the hunters can just camp the dreamers, i feel like there should be some incentive to chase you more!
I recently got Hollow Knight, and this video randomly popped up in my recommendation and is the first I've seen of you, but it wasn't until 27:05 that I realized this wasn't the first video of doing this. Luckily, that means I have a lot more content to watch now, really enjoyed this.

idk if you’ve done something similar to this before, but i’ve watched quite a few of these speedrunner v hunters vids and i think it’d be cool to add more win conditions (not as a new rule, but just for an episode yk) but something SUPER random like completing the cloth storyline for example. or beating all the colos. you could even do certain random achievements like getting all the grub (which you would need the collector for obv) or all mask shards, etc. just some win condition(s) that would make you have to go out of your way to do unnecessary shit. idk the logistics of that and if it would work or not but, could be a cool idea. really enjoying these videos!!!
